  • Thumbs up if you cried the first time watching this.

    Bill Nighy is cool.

  • i just notice that was Bill Nighy

  • loved this episode

  • This makes me cry every time :,( So beautiful! Also, just as a fun fact, my mum used to go out with the guy who plays Vincent in high-school. :)

  • This is so beautiful. Every time I see it, it makes me cry.

  • This has become my favorite episode of doctor who, only just watched it today for the first time

  • So many creys. It's so beautiful.

  • Hey, it's Bill Nighy and the guy who played the MI6 agent on Covert Affairs!

  • This is truely a great DW moment

  • This episode always makes me cry... its so sad, poor Vincent no one understood the fellow.

  • I have never seen a single episode of Doctor Who in my life, I came across this by accident. I just cried a little.

  • Beyond a doubt one of the best episodes of Dr Who in the now known history of Dr Who...Vincent Van Gogh his story is one all should know as part of HiStory and the human capacity within.

  • I love this clip. I always tear up a little bit when I watch it.

  • This episode always makes me so close to tears.

  • To be honest, I've not watched much Doctor Who, just the series with Tom Baker. However, I'm a writer and I'm all too familiar with the hopelessness that loving or creating art can bring. There is the possibility of not being recognized in a world where people don't have a love for art. As I watched this, I wept. I felt hope. I might be appreciated by countless people, heralded as the best in my genre or of all writers, even if it is after death. And I'm pretty sure this show just got a new fan.

  • @0its0green0 Well said :), maybe you'll be in a Dr Who show in the future as the frustrated writer ;)

  • Vincent only sold one painting. In his entire life. When he was alive. An he got to see how much his life mattered. This is my favorite Doctor Who.

  • If only you could do this for all the people that have contributed to this world, but were only truly recognised after their death.

  • @andybabig Wouldn't really work, I don't think. It's a nice sentiment, though. I think people would do things differently if they knew their work was going to have the impact that it does, and showing them that impact would change their course.

  • When the museum guy was praising Vincent I just felt my heart swell up with joy. Vincent is my absolute favourite artist. I adore Monet and Degas and I like Caravaggio and Bernini, but Vincent will always have my heart. And I think he described Vincent's talent and what he did wonderfully.

  • @epoxyresin You sir/madam are a complete idiot.

As much as i think that art may be a little bit of a joke that is not the point of this clip. Might i suggest that you actually watch the full episode and perhaps look up the history of Van Gogh a little bit and attempt to understand the hardship which he had to go through as a person BEFORE attempting to be a completely ignorant twat and spouting crap like "What a campy blood clot of a show".

    Have a good day sir/madam :)

  • Utterly amazing sequence.... All brought their 'A' game for this scene....

  • I can't stop crying...such a good scene

  • Crying like a lil bitch

  • Great scene but why is this a mirror image?

  • @teeps2k Harder for the network to find it and take it down

  • My favorite scene from my favorite episode. Tony Curran was amazing. I always tear up a bit during this scene.

  • I just love how Bill Nighy has a hard time realizing that that was Van Gogh xD

  • this is my favorite scene so far with this new doctor. It was just so perfect.
