  • now i get it!!!! thanks

  • It's funny no one ever says what happens AFTER you push the handlebars. Do you you keep them that way until it's time to roll on the throttle and stand the bike back upright? Or do you turn the bars in the direction of the turn after you initiate the lean?

  • @CaptSaveAHo3 The episode was called "How Motorcycles Work".

  • @CaptSaveAHo3 It was from an episode about sportbikes on The Science Channel.

  • @MotoGQ Do you know what the episode was called?

  • omg i think i got it now!!

  • the problem with the video animation (which is supposed to clearly illustrate what happens when you "push right to go right", or "push left to go left") is that it greatly exaggerates how much the wheel turns in the "wrong" direction before your bike leans into the turn. In our rider training class the video they showed was of a real rider (not animated), and you could clearly see how the concept works. And, btw, there are plenty of bikers who haven't ever heard of this.

  • MotoGQ - do you know the name of this episode? Want to find the whole episode on the science channel...

  • Short, sweet and informative. The idiots from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation who "taught" my Beginner Rider Course could seriously benefit from watching this video and/or showing it in class!

  • turn your front wheel at :52 like this...and you will be eating pavement.

  • and you will be shitting that pavement out while your in the hospital.

  • I'm from Germany, please could someone translate this video into my language? Cheers

  • it's mostly in redneck - it's impossible to do.

unglaublich dass wir es machen koenen

  • this video helped a lot more than others thanks =D

  • The action of leaning the bike causes it to change direction. The action of countersteering is one of the rider inputs that cause the bike to lean.

Countersteer is only one of several rider inputs that cause the bike to lean as so clearly visible in your clip.

  • What a pontificating feed of shit. Learn your physics before you set yourself up as an expert. Look up Gyroscopic procession on Google for the answer.

All vehicles with steering at the front 'out track' including cars and semi-trailers. All vehicles steered from the rear, such as fork lifts, 'in track'. Vehicles with fixed axles and pivoted in the center, such as some mobile cranes, the front and rear wheels follow the same arch.

  • Great Vid.. one of the most misunderstood/important aspects of riding.. Can you explain the whole corner... ie at track day speeds from entry to exit.. How long/or what lean angle are you still counter steering.. Thanks again...

  • Never new this, thnx for posting!

  • That's good and the simulation really helps

  • i can counter steer but this summed it up . thanks !

  • this video summed it up for me nicely. especially the animation demonstration. i am going for my bike license in few weeks (i have my learner permit) .. i have about 1,000km of ride experience.. so hopefully im good enough to pass! cause counter steering is the main focus in the course i believe.
