  • how do I program the leds to turn on without using a rotary encoder?

  • I've been restraining myself from buying a few of these!

Didn't have a project in mind,

not that ars gras artis isn't a reason!

Now sparkfun do the Si4735 on a breakout board, I'm thinking of an Arduino AM/FM/shortwave radio.

These would be great for tuning, volume.

  • THe Future is coming i know !

  • @MegaBeatbreaker your reading this comment in the future.

    wrap your thoughts around that.

  • YOU ARE REEEEETARDED! Radio Shack?

  • Thats great Basil, but what does it do?

  • awesome music....

  • DO NOT BUY FROM ROBOTSHOP. THE SERVICE IS AWFUL!!!

  • WTF?

  • "So I used a LED dimmer to control the brightness of my other LED dimmer! Ain't I awesome?"

  • it somehow looks like roland tb 303

  • Looks cool for the logitech z2300 control pod ^^

  • But can you still use the pot as a pot? or do you haft to use a dual channel pot to have any practical use out of this?

  • do you know where to get one of this.. or get stuff for it to make them??

  • @stefannikolovski1234 You can purchase them through SparkFun. I posted some links in the info above.

  • @MayhewLabs thank's

  • Why no sound? You know, talkies were invented in the early part of the 20th century :)

Seriously, silent video creeps me out. Narration would have been wonderful. In any case, love the product. I ordered a couple from sparkfun to test it out.

  • @Psychlist1972 The video showed a potentiometer for the example sequences and then another for the brightness, but they never added a third for the volume. Ergo, silent movie :p

  • @TableWolfMusic Oops, I meant Rotary Encoder. My post has failed lol

  • This is really nice, and there is a potentially large market out there for DIY controllers, MIDI surfaces etc.

Wondering though if the board is a little too big to achieve a realistic vertical stacking of controls. Side-by-side looks fine, but vertically might be a bit too spaced apart. Any chance you can get that SOIC package on the back of the board and reduce the vertical height somewhat?

Now all we need is an injection moulded plastic face plate that includes light guides for the LEDs!
