It's strange that your camera didn't come with some sort of basic editing software. What kind of camera is it? Anyway, I'd recommend experimenting with the trial versions of a few editing programs before actually committing to one. You never know how one will suit you and/or work with the particular format your camera records to until you've actually tried it.
@DJK83 I know, i thought it should have too ! But hey. For the past couple of video I have downloaded free trials, but that got very annoying very quickly !
