  • Why does Paul say in Philipians that he is proud of people? Is it a misstranslation?

  • "Repackaged pride as self-esteem"... very interesting truth. We've been so deceived by self-help books...

  • Hilarious! This is one of the most proud, self-righteous, and arrogant men i have ever heard in the pulpit. Preaching oral sex and using scripture to justify this perversion?! He is got to be out of his carnal mind! Satan is having a hay-day with Mark Driscolls church because it is nothing but the lost world in a building pretending to be the bride of Christ while in fact they are lying him down with a whore and causing the rest of the world to blaspheme because of their hypocrisy....Repent!

  • Wat a hypocryte....what is Mark??? FU you pretentious drama queen

  • Real Talk!!! thank you Father God for this word really helped me.

  • thank you for this upload, it helped me a lot,and it took to me to other places too, like CJ Mahaney talking about Humility on other uploads...if it was not for your upload here I would not have gone on to the other helpful content.

  • Adding and reading doesn't make you great. Usually. I understand the geography one though.

  • 1 person prays to satan

  • @freakyjos And his name is mark driscoll..

  • I personally do not think anyone is better than anyone else. "I" is just some random physical form my soul happened to be in. God is what that soul connects to, through the Holy Spirit, to become aware of and use this form as a tool for His purpose. "I" think "I" am a tool. Heh heh. "I" constantly question my understanding of God; and consider others views in the same way. I could absolutely be mistaken, if I am, I trust the HS to enlighten me.

  • Why are there so many different Religions?

  • I don't think 'self-esteem' is Satanic, but it is silly.

  • oooooooooooooooooh!!!!! now i get it i must know who i am .......in christ.

  • Wow! I was witnessing to this girl today and I was talking about the Love of God and then she said well u cant love others until u love urself... I am a new believer and didnot realize that was PRIDE! I agreed with her... now i realize what i've done wrong! Thanks Mark!

  • Driscoll. When you compare his earlier sermons you can see his growth. He gets more Godly as he gains experience. Once he conquers pride he will gain understanding of spiritual wisdom in leaps and bounds without the need of experience.

  • God gives grace to those who seek Him and love HIm... Amen.. Prasie God the Most High...

  • So, was the concept of pride created by God? How did Lucifer become proud unless pride was existent. Unless Lucifer created pride by trying to be God. Was this just a byproduct of the free will given to the angels? It couldn't have been created by God because God is the highest, so how could he be proud? Somebody help me understand!

  • @blattt188

When Satan (Lucifer is not Satan - another topic) fell, he became engulfed with worldliness. Pride is a physical world occurrence. God is spiritual not worldly. Transcend worldliness to gain access to your soul which can reflect Gods spirit.

  • SO. TRUE.

  • i needed to HEAR THAT!

  • wow, soo powerful!

  • This guy takes relatitive qualities and quanities to help his little "speech". God as far they tell me does give shame. Well, I'm not buying it, I think its better just to live by my own codes. Instead of that of the imagination of others. To bad this is all fiction. Other wise I'd be calling him smart but I've got my pride in man and myself to say he is, too bad huh?

  • Man I've been preaching this for a long time. Thank you Mark Driscoll for articulating it so well.

  • "do all you can do, achieve all you can achieve" is from satan. please explain that.

  • For the best explanation, I'd ask Mark Driscoll. I am presuming that you disagree with the statement based on the fact that many have done all they can to help humanity and have done good. In this case, this is true.. This idea in itself is not from Satan. You are right in believing that. I would ask one holding to this belief however why they are doing "all you can do". If it is to make yourself superior and others inferior to you, then it is from Satan since it is based in a spirit of pride.

  • I do things because I can, And for the past year and a half i've discovered that the easiest way to do what I can is to do everything motivated by love for everyone and everything around me.

  • @aerowsphere Odd I missed your reply so long ago. I generally do what I do to make others happy. Recently I've been doing so much for others that I hardly have any strength. I noticed the imbalance, and started to do things to make myself happy as well.I see this as a necessity if I wish to keep making others happy. No reason I shouldn't be part of the people who are happy :) If few people make me happy, then I need to take matters into my own hands. Because I don't see it happening another way

  • @aerowsphere

I think he is coming from the standpoint, where the world tells you to do all YOU can do, its all about YOU. Whereas, we should be doing all we can do through CHRIST and achieving everything for Him and His Glory and by His strength. I believe that is where he is coming from.

  • If we depend on our own capabilities, we won't get anywhere. Everything that we can do is because of God. If we go around believing that we're doing our own job, then pride has taken over.

  • @clarinetzrox678

    1) "we won't get anywhere." Where are you trying to get ?

    2) "then pride has taken over". Do you see pride as an absolute bad ? There are levels. There is a level of pride which can become harmful, you have to notice when it starts to hurt you, and let some of it go.

  • @JellOFishi

Success and life in heaven after you die.

Yes, in this sense, I do. Pride is looking at one self in a positive way. And although that may not be all bad, we have to look at God long before we look at ourselves.

  • @JellOFishi Here is a good explanation: "God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble." Do all YOU can do, achieve all YOU can achieve is exactly what Satan told our first parents. It is the rejection of God to do everything our own way.

  • @crangeyw11 Sorry. repetitive and too far away from me to communicate meaningfully. Have a nice life :)

  • @JellOFishi

I am guessing that he is unaware that one gains oneness with God through self-actualization; at which point it becomes "make the best use of your gifts, achieve the most with those gifts."

He is on the right track though, he will get there eventually.

  • @leddsaliva "He" who ?

  • @leddsaliva : Your post just demonstrated Pride perfectly. So you think you are better than, I am guessing Mark Driscoll, because he doesn't understand God as you do? That is blatant PRIDE.

  • @JellOFishi Achieving great things isn't demonic, being holly isn't demonic, pride is.Think the difference between Iggy Pop and Nick Johnas.Nick probably has more talent than Iggy and had much larger hits. But the way he did it wasnt humble.Iggy wasn't arrogant as many people percieve him to be,he is in fact one of the most humble guys I see.You outpoor confidence and sincerity when you are humble.Iggy got to there because of suffering.A lot of unblievers end up in God imaging threw that actually.

  • @JellOFishi I'm not sure if you've asked, since you asked 2 years ago, but I'd say that the basis of which he said this was the pride behind it. Being successful in life, or pursuing success in and of itself is not bad. God wants you to work hard, and to use what He's given you to bring Him glory. But many people, including I, get caught up in the rewards of success, that they begin to idolize the rewards and success. That's when it gets bad, it's when it gets more important than God.

  • @JellOFishi but if you're successful, or if when you succeed, you praise God, and you give Him glory, and say that the only reason that you succeeded is because of Him, it's fine. God gave each person talents and abilities, and God wants us to use what He's given us to glorify Him.

  • @natbrain I can understand being focused on your success too much being harmful. I have an issue with your last sentence. "God wants us to...". In my opinion you are describing insecurity, which doesn't quite mesh up with a "supreme" being. Like a parent being frustrated by their child not choosing the profession they (the parent) wanted them to (might not be the best metaphor, but the closest i can think of right now)

  • THIS IS SO TRUE!
