I don't think the hamster is frightened by height. I have 20 hamsters and non of them are afraid of height. Instead, THEY frighten ME by jumping off a 1-meter-high chair! XD But my hamsters do get frozen sometimes, and I still don't know why XDDD

I think it was scared of that thing it was on. Sometimes before Hamsters attack they sit still sharpeing their teeth for the fight. If you would have touched it then, it probably would have jumped.
