It's so eye-catching! Much better than the inferior U.S. boot screen. And had they released more better quality games from Japan, this system might have lasted longer.
Is there such a thing as a MegaCD Emulator for the PC? I noticed at the start of the video there's a message on the screen saying, "Loaded MegaCD built-in RAM
MegaCD Startup
WAV logging Started." What does all that mean? Do all MegaCD/SegaCD units show that message?
Actually I used a Genesis emulator that supports MegaCD/SegaCD and the 32X. I'm using an emulator known as Kega Fusion. Those messages you saw on the bottom right corner are messages from the emulator. The MegaCD Startup message is like switching the power on to the game system. The Loaded MegaCD built-in RAM message is just loading the memory of game saves. And the WAV logging started message means that I was recording sound from the emulator to make this video.
It looks as if both the PAL models and the Japanese model of the Mega CD have the same startup music, but I think the graphics are slightly different, I really like this music.
its almost like the Japan version 2 start-up, but they dubbed out the ugly pic of Sonic XD
