  • Hillage got funky in some music in his style because he was heavily influenced by Parliament and Funkadelic. He told that in an interview. In the history of rock, Hillage is one of the most original guitar crafting his sound in a synthesized search.

  • Muito bom, música das melhores!

  • Any cool record (or head shop) in Chicago back then would've recommended it right away!!!!

  • i'm so stoned right now :)

  • Catchpowle sent me here

  • raise this world into a new dimension!! lets do it people x

  • is there other music like steve hillage?

  • Good, but even corny back in the day, "Were surfing on the vibrations in our minds", This was party stuff. even back in the day

  • OMG! Joe Blocker is my daddy. tehe! :) Im not joking. Im Nadia Blocker. Check out my video type my name into youtube. :) im 12 nearly 13 now! :)

  • @knads98 really???? if so your old man is one of the finest jazz fusion drummers in the world and has inspired countless drummers! we play light in the sky in our set list and it blows the flipping audience away!! say a big big thanks to him!!! xx one love

  • Great!!!!

  • @GeezLeeweez Don't take this wrong but Steve was, for my money, a long way ahead of YES. Hillage, whenever I saw him, always seemed to be playing from sheer joy and without ego.

I love the fact that Acid House and techno rediscovered him in the '90's and found that he'd already made many of their sounds back in the '70's. Now the technology is up to speed with the amazing sounds that must run around inside his head - perhaps the best is yet to come?

  • Dear jmb92555 - kind of wierd echoes man - I first came across Steve when I went to St George's Hall in Bradford, West Yorks, to buy my tickets for the T'in Lizzy "Bad Reputation" gig. There was this poster with a guy holding the coolest looking Stratocaster I'd ever seen, and looking like he knew what to do with it. The rest, my friend, are very pleasant memories. Oh, and the T'in Lizzy gig was damn good too! Glid forever, SH unzipping the zype!

  • Trip forever " not fade away"

  • LOL! Blast from the past!

  • 'Raise this world into a new direction !!!'

'Don't listen to the clever voice that alwaysz looks for gain'

    'Motivation is the key!'

  • motivation is the key!

  • One of my favourite albums of all time, every song great, great drumming by

Joe Blocker and incredible guitar by one of the most underrated ever!!!

  • I remember Hillage (a.k.a."Steve Hillfish") saying his music was written under the influence of and should be listened to while under the influence of pschedelic drugs

But, of course, it still sounded good w/ out the chemicals, and it STILL sounds good, now. Steve was one of those guitarists who seemed to be able to improvise endlessly with no problem. I think his version of "It's All Too Much" is the best Beatle cover ever. BTW, Steve's great, but Todd is God.

  • @cathoderoy Done it: He's right but once you've been switched on it's like riding a bike you never forget.

  • Especially when a fLsBAck hits you :0

  • Control it do not let it control you was the mantra I was taught.

  • @TheRusskinruss

Yeah, I wasn't into Joe Blocker's style at first, but I got used to hearing all those clever little tom fills and catchy snare riffs, and hearing some live stuff later w/ out him sounded kinda bland. He had a lot of imagination, and he was still pretty funky.

  • i was there rochdaale 1978

  • wow. amazing :)

  • who was playing keys on gong?

  • And if U wanna feel it now U must surrender to the flow ... find that MOTIVATION !!!!

  • año 1977 yo teniaaaaaaaa 16 años ...........y pasaba las tarde impovisando en esta base .... con my fender precision bass........... que bueno nadie lo conocia

  • bEATLE fUSION!

  • I remember the first time I heard this. '76...'77 maybe? My sister and I were browsing in a little record shop. She was looking for Allman Bros or Doobie Bros and I was looking for Thin Lizzy or something. Then the guy behind the counter put the album on. We both looked up at the same time and knew that one of us would be buying this. FM radio was becoming more corporate-bound and rigid in their playlists by this time or we might have missed it. Jo Blocker became a huge influence on my style.

  • good to hear!

i wish music like this was produced today, to hell with lady gaga and all of those, more prog / symphonic rock!

  • @jmb92555 Know what you mean

  • What year did this album come out? I love Steve Hillage, great underrated guitarist IMO

  • Most underrated guy in the 70's. Way ahead of his time.

  • You're absolutely right ! Nowadays Hillage is more contemporary - looks different, sounds different, but is still a great musician.

    Check out SYSTEM 7

  • is he still alive?

  • Steve is still alive and well, and still playing

  • @ajaax17 This guy was not underrated for musicians but it was to late for this kind of fusion. It's nice to hear this again really cool, this album shine. The live is also a true bargain. i am a diehard fan of this era
