If this tutorial was to show some people how to use the tools in photoshop, then it was okay. If this is a tutorial of an effective way to remove fly away hair, then I don't think it's hit the mark at all. There were various other way's and tool's you could have used way before distorting the image with liquidfy. Not hating just saying, and TBF you did post this nearly a year ago! :)
"im not sure what that is but we try to flatten it out too" lol um tha is part of the stray hair you deleted so you can see them again this guy is a kook
I would use these tool on sketch mistakes rather than fly away hair unless you want to change background i would still replace the hair as is best as natural it was in the first place. unless u promoting hairgel the whole hair 'removal' is not necessary. It's good for an example how particular tools work as i never actually knew what the liquify tool was intended to do and the way layers can be used to 'enhance'.
A viable technique though it still needed a bit more work. Something I've always found interesting about Photoshop is that if you ask ten different people to solve the same problem you will likely get ten different answers with similar results.
sans the sweet selection tool in cs5 this is all noobish, if this guy gets favorites, I deserve my own horde of zombie sluts... that don't have a taste for my blood, just noobish photoshop know it all turds.
Not bad. Seems like every fly-away tutorial I find uses the easiest, most ideal backgrounds to demonstrate the technique. Also, using the excuse, "It isn't perfect, but you get the idea" just seems lazy to me. Even "slightly less than perfect" on retouching tips like this creates unrealistic results that can make or break the image. I rather see you talk about the technique and then speed up the video and show "perfect" results.

Why the fuck would I remove the natural windblowing hair that actually gives some action to the picture?! Tehh, what a waste
kimjohnsen113 8 months ago
@kimjohnsen113 in some instances this could be useful, for fashion fotos just as an example. Thes technique used was really worth knowing.

those hairs could have easliy been cloned out without going through the hassle of the selection
420jaymac 8 months ago
I'd be more interested in how to select those hairs.
