  • Hey Now ...Hope all is good in your neck of the woods

  • @kidblood1 hey brian! crazy shitty economy, but i am still fighting back. working at that grocery store we both shop at... in the deli. ass busting work but a job. we oughta get together again one of these days! hope all is well there. say hi to julie!

  • My best wishes for you and Agnes!!!

    "Fun" videos are over-rated 8‹D

  • Poor Agnes. Best wishes and hopes for her recovery!! You're very understanding about the vet and his culpability. I think most good vets must feel devastated as well when things like this happen. Again, all the best to you and Agnes.

  • Oh no so sorry to hear this. Poor Agnes I hope it out works it self out soon. Again thanks for the warning i do have 8 dogs and 2 cats so it is great to know.

  • I am so sorry to hear about poor Aggie. I know how you feel we adopted a Jack Russel and for some reason he thinks he is my dog we got him for DS. A couple of months after we got him I said to DH his eyes don't look right. So off to the vet we went. He had some rare eye disease with some long name I don't remember that there was no cure for. Now he is slowly losing his hearing. I just love him as much as I can and he seems happy. I will be sending prayers and good thoughts.

  • Poor Aggie. :-(

  • Poor Aggie. Love you Aggie Aggie Aggie. awww. Hope she is better and ok .x.

  • Ooohhh Liz.. So sorry Agnes is still deaf. You are so right about the drugs. Well.. try to keep positive. Sending healing thoughts...Thinking of you both. After all...She is "The Agnes". She just has to get better!!!!!!! HugZ Girls

  • Hoping for a speedy recovery. Hang in there.

  • Wow!! I just had both of these vids pop up, and came to this one first. Like you, I know and trust my vet, and this would be devastating, and yes, I'd be angry, but who at? The vet? Why? Medical science, perhaps? But what good would it do?

I've never heard of this, never known a case of it, but it's frightening. I avoid medications with my cats unless there's no choice, and this gives me pause to think twice even then.

I'm hoping Aggie's hearing does return, bless her. Do keep us updated.

  • you still have some seriously creepy and scary 'commenteurs' lol

your vet needs to trip down a long flight of stairs. in flip flops

  • Thank You For Updating Us On Agnes, You Will Find Ways To Communicate With Her & In Time We All Hope That Her Hearing " Will " Return In The MeanTime Just Spoil Her & Show Her How Much She Is Loved...... Joe

  • I hope Agnes recovers, pets are family. Agnes must be thinking "what the hell?!! Why all so silent?!!" hehe

Now u have to prevent her even more from danger

All the best for u :)

  • Cheers to you and Agnes... (=

  • Yes, please keep us up-to-date on Agnes' hearing.

Maybe for now, you will need to come up with a different

way to communicate with her and to reassure her.

We had an old dog that went deaf. We taught her a new

command for roll over. We used to stomp or tap our foot

    on the ground or floor.

PLEASE give Agnes kisses and hugs from me.

  • Looking forward to more videos!

  • I think that Agnes will adjust to her new situation over time but I hope that her hearing returns for good soon.

  • Virtually everything has side effects. We wouldn't use meds at all if we refused them based on that. However, it would have been good for him not to have suggested both ears. Maybe if you get a bell to ring to get her attention?

  • If Agnes does not get her hearing back would getting her a companion dog help? She could take clues from seeing the other dogs reaction to sound? Just a thought. I am keeping my fingers crossed that her hearing comes back completely.

  • Don't listen to the scary stories, like you said time will tell. Sending her lots of healing vibes and hugs. Hugs for you too. xo

  • Keeping you & Agnes in my thoughts.

    S.

  • I use a flashlight at night when I take Jack out and now he will follow the light if I want him to go a certain direction. You can try that with Aggie or a laser. Jack follows that too. I flash the light and he knows to come in. I don't like to yell at night to get him back in and the light works great. Just a thought.

  • I'm so glad that the spam bot didn't get you. Liz, this is terrible about little Aggie. I want to say sue the manufacturer. It has to be traumatic for both you and Aggie. Does the manufacturer even know how many animals are losing their hearing? If not they need to know!. Hugs Dear Liz. Keep us updated! *smooch*

  • She better get her hearing back. That is all.

  • ...... heavy hearted I write this and dont know what in the world I could possibly say that would make any difference other than I will go forward with our gluckie with this information, but in the end that doesnt help you or Agnes at present. I think the scratching could be vibration she feels, so anything with vibration might help get the attention. I will still send out prayers and positive thoughts that this does resolve in the best possible outcome, but still so sorry you have the stress:(

  • I'm sorry on the sickness of your dog, it is not easy when a beloved pet gets sick. I had a pet that got really sick, it was not easy for sure, my parents had a poodle that went blind wiht cataracts ar 14 year s old, they put him down, poor little thing was bouncing off the table legs lol but it ws heartbreaking, poor little creatures they are such good companions and when they get sick it is heartbreaking , hv a good day!

  • Oh goodness poor Agnes and you. I know personally even with medications prescribed to me that I often have the really rare reactions but most don't. I am very sad for you both.

  • oh, Liz, I am seriously horrified for you and Agnes. Your vet has prescribed this drug freely in the past? And this is the first time for a side effect? I hope he does his own research and thinks twice about prescribing in the future for others and I hope a million people see your two videos and this can be prevented for some.

    I hate this with you.

    - roc

  • @popparoc46 thanks, roc. yes, it is prescribed millions of times a day really. i have friends who use it on their dogs regularly [their dogs have floppy ears and regular infections] - its just like any drug, there are rare, serious side effects and aggie and i just happened to be one of those cases. i cried for two days but crying won't bring her hearing back... so we have to move on, call it tragic, call it an accident, and make sure she feels loved and as joyful as she was before. [cont]

  • @popparoc46 if her hearing comes back again, i will be elated but cautious. for now, we are just adjusting as best we can. i know she will adjust... she is already doing lots of workarounds... and once she is used to it we will be joyful again. that all said, she just heard a noise and woke up and started barking HA! you never know,... ;)

  • @snarkdetriomphe my fingers are crossed, Liz...
