it's the 2nd act, not 1st...

you ' re right , but the Gergiev- Mariinsky "edition" of the opera put the 2nd act just after the Prolog . The goal researched is to alternate the russian and polvtsian worlds ...this idea is apparently based on a structural outline written by Borodin in 1883 .
