  • chand101099: I know what you mean, mine also listens to AC/DC and the like. Funny how things come around again. Are we raising a new classic rock generation? lol

  • Un clásico del buen Rock de Journey y esos ochentas inolvidables o no?

  • OMG what a tune.guitar solo has 2 be up there with all the greats. but 4 me steve perry will always be journey........sorry arnel but you will never be steve

  • @stokeyshan98 completely agree.

  • You are right this is the most beautifull song of Journey. It brings me nice memories of a great time. God Bless Them

  • Steve's the man with " the voice". No one comes close. We have to give alot of credit to Neil Schon for the beautiful cords he performs on his guitar. I love Journey , the 70's through the 80's was the amazing best group ever! The other singers who tried to be Steve Perry were close but if see their videos , they couldn't hold up. They ran out of breath and they didn't have their own style.

  • AWESOME GUITAR SOLO!!!

  • Everyone who is listening to this right now, when you have kids (or if you already do) to raise them with proper love and respect for the true legends.

    Don't let it die.

    EVER

  • @thecarlover09 Well said! My girls 19, 14 & 8 all know & love Journey!!

  • @thecarlover09

  • @thecarlover09

I have done so. They do. Nice that.

  • one. person. doesnt have ears

  • Jouney is just not great without SP They have a Kareoke singer now, shame

  • Best Journey's song ever!

  • great song..the guitar solo sends shivers up and down my spine

  • Steve and klause, the best voice's in rock.

  • They say Katy Perry...WE say Steve Perry!

  • what a great goup,I'm so glad I grew up listening to music like this.A great era

  • You have to admit, the 80's had some gooood shit

steve is an amazing vocalist and always will

  • I was lucky enough to see them in concert in OK City in 1987, still great

  • @1968tdc Saw them in San Bernadino at the Swing, Thin Lizzy opned for them in either 78 or 79...Wheel in Sky had just came out...one of the best shows...

  • Ah, to be 17 again......

  • I've always felt this to be a powerful Biker song. I first heard it at 23 years old in Germany while stationed there in '81-83. I rode an 'ole Indian chief back then and still have it today. Many Harleys have come and gone and I feel this song has come full circle with me. I'm 51 & I Still Ride!! I Love this Song!!

  • @194774chief Nice tribute to life and living free....this song means so much to me from my past...thanks for the heartfelt post.

  • @194774chief I comment of behalf of my uncle Gil, rider and military man himself. Served USAF 1972-1980

    RIP Captain Gil Daniels June 2nd 1951 - December 18th, 2002

  • @194774chief Dude! 82-86 K-town and BK. I cruised the Alps through Germany, Switz, and Aust with my young boy strapped on back. Same song - live long Journey lover. Airborne!

    wolf

  • @194774chief DUDE, same time, same place, same channel... well almost. I rode a Suzuki in the G. Bad K town. And you know, this one kept me thinking of "..spinning around, in a spell" thinking of being a kid back home. KNow what you mean.

    SFC Wolf

  • Pinoy= MONGOLOID

  • POOR POOR MONGOLOID ERNIE

  • @NoSteveHasReturned = obssessed bipolar racist

  • God bless Journey. God bless Arenel and Steve. my two fab Journey singers

  • saw this guy sing this 3 feet from me and my girlfriends faces in Phoenix in around 1983.....magical..... and I am OH so grateful

  • Such a sincere gentleman whom I hope finds faith. His singing and performing is so sincere which costs a lot in emotion on stage like that. However, he obviously is enjoying his own singing, and after learning the mechanics the mental attitude is 90 percent of it. He couldn't sing that way with out putting it on the line like that. May God bless and show Steve unconditional love from our Savior. God loves Steve and all the rest of His children.

  • They can listen now... still sounds just as good.

  • Below= MORON

  • One of the best songs from one of the greatest albums of all time.

  • it's weird, my parents are so into them that i feel nostalgic when i listen to it even though i wasn't born then! love them. journey that is, not my parents. well, them too.

  • I count myself blessed to have lived when this music was being made - you can't know the magic this had for a young kid back then unless you were there - you young kids today are very poor as you have nothing like this to grow up on.

Thanks for posting this magical piece Karly!

  • John Cain and Steve Perry really could write some awesome lyrics

  • wheels of fire wiggy... still you ride 9/4/85 r.i.p.

  • @NoSteveNoJourney It seems that is your comprehension level...:-]

    Bye bellicose one.

  • @Brucev7 = MORON

  • @NoSteveHasReturned Having a bad life huh? Boy do you need God.

  • @Brucev7 NoSteveHasReturned's life is really bad. he is being possessed by the demon

  • @newERNIEifyJourney He's lacking the Christmas spirit isn't he?

  • @NoSteveNoJourney LOOK IN A MIRROR...:-,

  • @NoSteveNoJourney Like I said earlier...

  • @NoSteveNoJourney So what's up yer crawl son?

  • @NoSteveNoJourney You seem like a very unhappy person.

  • @NoSteveNoJourney I bet you a Lobster dinner you can't name one song off the top of your head of pre-SP.

  • Definitely one of the best SP era Journey numbers. Saw them pre-SP, he came on stage after they did a set and then he did a couple of numbers. Sounded like Pop. LOL. Then saw them several times. Peace.

  • 150 PROOF!!!

  • just heard this song a few months ago sounds like the way life goes all over the place brilliant song hard life

  • God, I love this band....every song is gold...pure-spun and shimmering....

  • Comment removed

  • @jhorgan02492 ummmm....yeah. that is steve perry singing.

  • What a great song especially the voice of Steve Perry, his voice is out of this world.

  • great tune, Schon's solo riff is classic as always.

  • TRULY AWESOME SONG!

When I was in H.S. 80-84; I was part of "the Crew"...bunch of guys that ran wild, partied and just had fun! Now 25-26 yrs later, "FEW" of us still in touch,

    ...married/familes/divorced etc...

Well everytime I get back to Long Island,...this song gets me thinking about my H.S. friends...The memories STILL echo in the night and "will live on forever!"

    Tip my glass to Joe & John O., Bruce M., Chris T., Steve H.; J.P.; Dave B.; and Al P.; ......always remembered!-NJQ

  • Awsome, vocalist, one of the best guitarists of all time, too bad they couldn't get along.

  • Oldie but a greatie!

  • This song (along with so many other Journey songs) gives me goosebumps every time I play it. Sooo talented. This is an era of music that can never be duplicated - it's just so wonderful that Journey lives on in these recordings, and with the new very talented singers they've got with them now.

  • One of my favorite Journey songs! Thanks for posting.

  • journey isnt the same without steve perry : /

  • Wow, 1982 brought tragedy into my life, and this song immed. brought me back to that time.. bittersweet.. what a BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!! Funny how songs can so deeply connect u to a place in time now forgotten, LOVE IT !!

  • a superstar band ... all of the music is pure class ! :-)

  • great song, great voice

  • Hit #19 pop, #37 AC, #47 rock in Billboard. Steve Perry made an egregious mistake by leavin' Journey, right, gang? God bless!

  • This reminds me of when I go back home and times change.....

  • Schon's on fine form here... great player. Perry's awesome too.

  • great song!! damn i miss the 80's, what a time!!! steve you are the man.

  • People, please get out of "The Hot Tub Time Machine" ...SP left a legacy & AP is continuing that legacy. A True Journey Fan is not a HATER, but someone who appreciates and knows that it takes a Band (Team) to make it work. Thank You NS,JC,RV,DC & AP for making & continuing Journey's Journey!!! DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'

  • Still they Ride...Rocks!

    The Voice lives on forever!

  • i believe this song is or was about a boy who journey befriended who was dying of cancer and soon died

  • @longdeek the song your referring to is incorrect. i believe it was "only the young which was released on a movie soundtrack. correct me if im wrong. thanx

  • This is such a great song. I'm not quite sure what it's about and I don't care ... Steve Perry, get up off your ass and put out some music! We've been waiting, believe me. So your voice is deeper and you can't wail some of the same notes ... many of us LIKE your voice deeper, and w/ the rough edge to it's had since the 'Love Of Strange Medicine' album. Get yourself back in the game, man

  • Steve Perry will always be "The Voice" of Journey!

  • This is the BEST Journey song, and I like just a few, but this is THE BEST!

    I love Steve Perry's Voice....He Rocks!

  • he 10x times better than that armel guy like he pretty good but steve perry is better!!! i hope one day he goes back to journey

  • I don't think Steve will go back to Journey after Neil and Jon rudely kicked Steve out of the band because Steve needed to get hip surgery and Steve felt that was HIS busines NOT the band busieness so I understand completly why Steve choose NOT to hook up with Journey.....

I MISS Steve's angelic VOICE....I really hope that he does put out some new music.....I would buy the CD in a heartbeat!

  • @journeylady85...Neil & Jon DID NOT rudely kick SP out. They gave him a lot of time to think about his decision (about 1 year & a half). SP didn't answer calls nor responded in anyway. The Show still must go on, so they did. Don't get me wrong, SP's gotta 1 of a kind voice, but Journey is about their music, not SP. ROCK ON NEIL,JON,ROSS,DEEN & ARNEL!!!!......JOURNEY STILL KIX ASS!!!!!!

  • @808windom Journey was Journey before SP.

  • @journeylady85 I agree. Comin home and expecting things to be like when you left. Never the same.

  • I'm ecstatic because Journey is Back with new albums now. Journey has the greatest Rock songs in history.

  • grumpypant..THANK YOU!!! i totally agree.what happened to music like this?great power ballads by bands with heart and soul....

  • dont be a fag

  • No kiddin'...what you're hearing through the airwave nowadays are worthless lost-and-founds pricks living in an untalented wastland...

A band like Journey is legendary for ages---WITH STEVE PERRY!!!

  • If only todays vocalist had half of the God given talent that Steve Perry exhibits on this recording. No matter what you may think about Journey, Steve Perry is one of the greatest of all time.

  • Actually it's the drummer

  • @xxmickeyzeroxx Damn straight!!! There aren't too many other SINGERS out there who've impressed me anywhere NEAR as much as Steve Perry. That dude seriously needs to get some new product out there and show these punters in the business today how a voice is SUPPOSED to sound.

  • @xxmickeyzeroxx Journey's new singer is golden in my book but yeah..Perry. Wish he would sing again.

  • perfect song journey has soooo many great songs it not funny i think them and the beatles cant be topped when it comes to great timeless music

  • the beatles suck cock you fucking fag ass

  • Best song on a great album!

  • 3:36--3:39 makes me melt.

  • Thanx Karly!

  • This was Journey's fourth single from their popular "Escape" album, following "Who's Crying Now", "Don't Stop Believing" and "Open Arms". It reached #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 1982, and I think this is the first time I've heard it since then!

Karly, thank you so much for sharing this long lost gem with us!

  • your very welcome

  • Karen F. i still think about you when i hear this song

  • im glad im the 3rd to comment

  • makes me wanna go ridin' thru my old home town late at night and just remember....
