The Old Lady’s TORTOISE (Hinduism) and DRAGON (Taoism) are symbols for WAVE (energy), both are analog with MAGEN DAVID (Judaism). "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is the metaphor, and also similar with allegory of rituals Thawaf circling around the Ka'ba and Sa’i oscillating along “the sinus” Marwah-Shafa during the Hajj pilgrimage (Abraham). YIN-YANG: energy-particle . CROSS (Christian) and SWASTIKA (Buddhism) are symbols for “Balance of Nature.”
basing your argument for the existence of god on whether or not things are getting "better" is useless since the concept of "better" is subjective. Humanity is no better than any herd of beasts in the field. History makes that clear. In the several thousand years of recorded history our species has not improved even slightly, we're still very primative. So my question to you is, how is a world with people any better than a world full of nothing more than rocks?
We tried Godless science under Adolf Hitler and as a result today we have space and atomic energy plus all Hitlers experiments on people that we use today but are kept secret. Is this the world stephen Hawkins wants?
I believe that proving that God does not exist would require (in our human way of thinking) to prove the null hypothesis, that is, if God existed there would be a logical absurdity. It would violate our logic. However, since we all define God in different ways and degree of detail, that would be impossible. This is not about whether Stephen this or that, its simple logic.
The probabilities of quantum mechanics are obtained within Schrödinger equation within the wave-function. The probability of the wave-function only works forward in time. We can always calculate backwards and see the position and momentum of a quantum particle in the past. This is the same as our everyday experience of nature and time, moving from a known past into an uncertain future
@nickharvey7 Thank you for your comment I didn't understand that. I think of time as being a point being continually drawn on a space/time graph the only way back is to bend them which I doubt is possible.
@petebax1 What I am trying to say is that Schrödinger equation does not just predicts what the wave-function will be in the future, but that this process of the wave-function represents the forward passage of time itself photon by photon or moment by moment. Therefore Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle is the same uncertainty that we have with any future event.
@nickharvey7 I believe that proving that God does not exist would require (in our human way of thinking) to prove the null hypothesis, that is, if God existed there would be a logical absurdity. Nasa found galaxies traveling at roughly two million miles per hour towards a particular location that lies beyond the horizon of our observable universe.
This makes all Big Bang theories as stupid as the flat earth theory was.
with all my respect, sir, but your post is based on 2 parts.First part-Hawkins,trying to reach the Origin ,fails, but discovers an unexpected radiation ,then switches to M theory when all the paths seem closed, driven by "Vanity".Second part-you prove that God exists as long as good is better then bad ,beautiful is better then ugly and so on.Is it?I have my doubts in defining good, beautiful, better, due to circumstantiality of them .
I'm not an atheist btw,so i couldn't care less about Dawkins
Maybe your "betterment" is just a very, very common mixture of ingredients who needed only proper timing and proper conditions to happen.I don't find your argument better then his, with all my implicit respect for your opinion.
@weoos My arguement is based on facts accepted by most atheists and almost everyonr else. The world works on natural selection which others called the survival of the fittest,
I have renamed it to betterment. To me God is Betterment . The Devil is a worsening world, science for personal profit and the impoverishment of others.
To me Stephen Hawkins, Richard Dawkins, lead science for personal profit brigade and sod everyone else. I have more respect for Bill Gates today.
Recently in Europe we tried to make a Black Hole by using the new collider costing Billions of Euros. It didn't work but if they can get it to work they will try again. It is OK Stephen Hawkings says so? An example of Godless Science.
If they are successful and they get a black hole then what?
@petebax1 I can't help but worry about scientists all over the world trying to create black holes or genetic creatures. Science must respect the political views of the people and even NASA trys to do that. Give scientists a free hand? More BP disasters ! Perhaps they can put their spillage in their black hole.
When science sees consciousness to be a fundamental quality of reality, and when religion takes God to be the light of consciousness shining within us all, the two worldviews start to converge.
@MySocksSmell2 Unfortunatly all science is about getting grants and today most scientists approving grants are atheists. If they had more open minded scientists then we might get more grants for ending the energy crisis or feeding the starving instead of grants for coliders that don't work, etc.
When we look at the record of Godless Science it isn't very good. If the human race keeps growing then it will make revealations a reality. At this moment everyone should have a maximum of two children and that should be agreed by the united nations. The two biggest opponents are religions and science.
@petebax1 the problem is humans are intteligent and you know for some strange reason people dont want to die... u cnt say to 4, 5 billion humans we have to kill u for the good of humanity because they will be like well its not goood for my humanity
Interesting thoughts about the "betterment"...and the 15 minutes of fame, great analogies. I don't understand why 'science' continues to see the need to wage war against God...like there can only be one or the other. Nor do I understand why people think that creation and evolution has to be seen as separate.
@dvnobles It is interesting that Ecclesiastics 500 BC made a very similar remark to Andy Warhol All is Vanity and 15 mins of fame. It seems to indicate mankinds motivation. Its time we moved on from the Big Brother house. If all money the media used on showing disasters gave their money to solving disasters we might get somewhere.
We can solve all the worlds problems if we want to.
if mankind continues to treat the planet and each other the same way we always have humans are going to become extinct. if humans became extinct because af the ways we live, what difference would it make if we one day colonized space? the fucking problem is ourselves. if we fuck up this planet, then we are going to go fuck up other places too? hawkins, your speeches, ideas, comments make no fucking sense.
I have no fucking idea how people can say that hawkins is the smartest scientist. how the fuck does he know for a fact that there was a Big Bang that started it all? was he there? then if there was a big bang it happened because all matter in the universe contracted then exploded. so who made all that matter? everything hawkins saya becomes news because all he speaks is something very very stupid. he says to colonize space so mankind does not become extinct? this continues below.
Planet Earth is better for me as opposed to Mars - just for breathing, etc. and love surely feels better than hate, imho - since I've had both sides of the spectrum to evaluate those feelings.
Mankind cannot remove "God" (Creator) from anything -- it is an intregal part of our very core - it would be like saying I'm removing my parents genes from my genes. Without their genes I would not be me ... ad infinitum.
I don't think man is at the apex -- surely we possess greater capacity for understanding than our predecessors, but we have much potential to enhance that capacity, and far to go before we reach that potential.... sometimes it does seem things are worsening, in our abuse of our world and its resources, but I do believe the arc of humanity bends toward overcoming our flaws and reaching our brighter future, and this is by design, inherent in the very fabric of our Universe!!
@PanDeism I read a book once which claimed we all have the ability to evovle into Gods maybe our genomes have speaking for myself its most unlikely. It is a question worth asking How far can we evolve? The Islamic faith had a chart for the evolution of mankind about 900 AD.
@petebax1 Ah, but it is no matter what is in our genome; we are already well along the path to develop the technology to rewrite our genome as we please, to eliminate our foibles, to expand our intellectual capacity so that someday every man will have the ability of an Einstein and a Hawking, and a Mozart and a Geothe all rolled in one!!

@stairxway Stephen as motor neurone disease which colours his view on life.
Had I suffered that all my life then I would have a different view on God.
Ironically if he had seriously studied MRO he may well have found an answer to it .
Instead he has wasted his life on a crackpot theory of everything.

@weoos Neither could I but he is peddling the same crap as pre second world war
which led to 0ver 60 million deaths that I see as bad or evil.
Today science needs to find out if baryonic matter created atomic or vice versa.
This will be anwsered when we can map the outer edges of the universe.
If dark matter is there the Big Bang theory is scrap. I hope to live long enough
for Nasa to find out.
However I doubt if Hawkins or anyone else will change their beliefs.

Einstein said God dosn't play dice with the universe. Well I think he dos only his dice are loaded with natural selection.
We all need to let natural selection work and help it to select the best.
This is the law of nature
