  • Go ahead and say it bud Ruger's are shitty, with the exception of the Ruger 10/22.

  • i agree with you on this. I prefer the ruger in every way except the sights. i prefer the glock sights. It is just so hard to find parts for my ruger.

  • sold my sr9c and got glock 19...it was a great decision...glocks are far superior to rugers IMHO

  • @treeelizard Hey I traded my SR9 in torward a Glock17. I just haven't got around to making a new video yet. I actually liked my SR9 aside from the mag safety and loaded chamber indicator. That is up until the mag release started giving me trouble. My SR9 had the original circular mag release. It pretty much completely stopped working. The mag would lock in place fine but was very hard to release. I Took it to my FFL and got 250 towards another Glock. Glock= peace of mind for me. ~Take care

  • Google: Glockmeister that is the best website for anything Glock. They sell weapons, accessories, upgrades, and more. I love glock and I really wouldn't buy anywhere else.

  • @ItzDuckSauce Thanks Glockmeister rocks.

  • I'm glad to hear you decided to keep it. The SR9's a great pistol. I'm not gonna try to be a brand basher (we all like what we like), but Glocks never felt right in my hands. I have a green/black SR9 & just added a Ghost trigger bar to & it makes it an even better shooter. 3,000+ rounds & still going strong.

I'm glad you included "God bless America" in your video. It may not seem like much to some, but still means something to me. Good video.

  • Ruger SR9 will win hands down in comfort, style, accuracy and safety. Although the Glock's Tennifer finish will wear infinitely better than the brushed stainless of the SR9 for close to the body and possibly sweat covered carry. The post 2010 SR9's have several post manufacturing improvements such as a slightly widened feed ramp, steel magazine catch and rubberized texture applied underneath the trigger guard. The newest Gen4 Glocks I cannot speak for, but I hear very mixed results.

  • Please, please, please take my advice: DON'T SELL YOUR PISTOL!! Save your $, and buy the pistol(s) that you want down the road. You may not regret it right away, but sometime down the road, you will regret selling your Ruger. Having some variety in your collection is worth it. I've made the mistake of selling a great pistol (at the time I convinced myself that I don't used it enough) and now I miss the hell out having that pistol. Keep the SR9, save your $, and expand your collection!!

  • I say keep them both, you can use the Ruger for a fun gun for plinking and such, then if and when the shit hits the fan and you need a real combat pistol you still have the Glock :-)

  • in my book ruger sr9 is 1#.

  • iv had both and the glock is far better, but thats just my upinyon

  • they got the sr9c I have the glock 19 and I don't like it but my sr9 I like but I can also get clips for the glock 19 and sr9 just one oz more then glock but the bolth are good guns.

  • Egads!!! you've "used the Ruger many times for home defense..."

Just how many shootouts have you been in?

  • haha sorry for the double post, my internet was being slow so i clicked 'post' again..

  • great vid. you gave some reasons for my glock purchase. a g17. pick it up friday. peep my vids. later

  • keep them both good guns

  • Glock is the best...

  • It's too bad california laws are the way they are, especially gun laws. I wouldn't live there for that reason alone. Beautiful state though.

  • @DAB0690 it does suck, but like anything else, you take the good with the bad. who says no one out here has extended clips or 17 rd mags. You know california has those gun laws, but also has among the countries most guns & illegal guns. it makes me sick they make you be legal carrying 10 clip, meanwhile your enemy has the real thing or even high powered assault auto's. anyway, my 2 cents. i love glock & sr9. sr9 looks better.

  • the magazine disconnect safety comes out REALLY easily. Also reinstalls just as easy. Like you said, it voids the warranty but they have no way of knowing if you hold on to it and reinstall whenever you're in a situation where Ruger will be handling it.

  • the magazine disconnect safety comes out REALLY easily.

  • Both are great guns, just a matter of which you like. I have Rugers, Glocks, Berettas, Fn 5.7, etc etc. Don't know why people hate some brands, I like firearms alot.

  • man that glock look as ugly as a black piece of 2X4, Ruger looks way better and is made in the usa.

  • hey buddy, just save up and get a g19/23. I have an sr9 with meprolight night sites and a 3.5lb ultimate trigger connector from ghost. I have over 4000 rounds through my SR9. P.S.- i took my magazine disconnect safety

  • the sr9 is some much better then a glock come usa made or astraian made come on

  • @irish242noah I'm not going to sell my SR9 anymore. I love the sights on the SR9 and it just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter.

  • @nelsonboy707 the factory sights are nice. Some aftermarket ones are wonderful too. I have xs sights on mine.

  • @irish242noah the SR9 is more then some much better than a glock.. nelsonboy707 must of got a gun that was made on a monday or friday, i've shot close to 1500 rounds through mine and not one cleaning or jam, and it still outshot a glock 19, i will put my SR9 against any brand any day, glocks are disposable

  • The mag disconnect takes 1 minute to remove, and no removing it does not void the warranty or leave you open to litigation.

BTW, mine is a Gen 3 version, so it has a D shaped mag release, SR9C take down pin and internals. It's a great gun. I fired about 350 rounds Saturday without a hiccup of any kind, so in my opinion it is as reliable as any other gun.

I have a video showing the differences between mine Gen 3, and other, older SR9's. Check it out if you get around to it.

  • just get a SR9c

  • You should just get the new SR9C.

  • Well guys, I learned something new today.

It's easy to remove the mag disconnect. I take it out every time I clean my gun. I just didn't know that that piece was until now. I guess I'll leave it out.

  • I am in the same boat like you. I just got rid of one of my guns to get another glock 19. I also live in California too and it is hard to find a glock 19 in OD frame or the RTF version.

  • sell em both and get a sig sauer lol

  • @neo19209 sell them both and I can almost get an AR10 lol

  • Comment removed

  • @nelsonboy707 you can remove that damn disconnect I did, and it works great now I don't have to worries about damage to my firing pin for firing with no mag!!! here is how. watch

    Humans4targets2:Requested Video Ruger SR-9

  • You can never go wrong with a glock, good luck on the new gun...

    B-

  • If your looking for a carry and like the ergonomics of the sr9, I'd suggest the sr9c (compact). I'm currently gonna order one and after handling and firing both the sr9 as well as the sr9c, I have to say the Compact just feels and shoots better thanks to its improved trigger... Whatever you get, Hope it works out for ya!

  • I just read the owners manual. It seems I can damage the striker blocking mechanism when dry firing without the mag in the gun.

  • I also prefer the SR9's sights to the Glocks.

  • I didn't know the gun wouldn't operate without the mag. I dry fire mine all the time without the mag - the trigger still works. The mag disconnect safety will let you make the gun inoperable in a fight. If someone is trying to take the gun from you you can eject the mag and make the gun inoperable. That's a good thing if you want it. As for an adminstrative or tactical reload - you don't do that unless you know the threat is gone. Otherwise, you should only do slide lock (empty) reloads.

  • @bearing01

What if under stress and you accidently hit the mag release button. At least with other guns, you still have one round left in the chamber to stay in the fight.

  • @bearing01 I still want the ability to fire my guns without a magazine.

  • @nelsonboy707 Hey, you know there is videos of how to remove the mag safety on the sr9. Its pretty easy to do, only takes like 5 minutes. Allows you to fire the gun without the mag.

  • @nelsonboy707 Hey, you know there is videos of how to remove the mag safety on the sr9. Its pretty easy to do, only takes like 5 minutes. Allows you to fire a chambered round without the mag.

  • @nelsonboy707

This was most likely mentioned, but you can disable the mag disconnect safety.

  • @Malcrosternus Yeah, I still got my SR9 and I've removed the mag disconnect now. It's actually a beef I have with CA not Ruger. At least Ruger offers new pistols that can be sold in CA. If you really don't want a MD the P95 is proven, has no MD and is sold in CA. It's not that bad here, I just wanna go Shall Issue CCW permits and do away with the mag capaity limit.
