That speak and Spell is all fun and games till the batteries run down. The voice pitch gets *higher*, stati noises fill the background, and the whole thing goes loco and the power of does not even work when it gets to that point! that kid would be screaming bloody murder.
The guy doing the voice-over for Zips is the guy who played "Big Fig" in the classic Fig Newton ads. Love that York ad: "Lovely, Arthur, you win a silver. Now don't ever put your fuckin' feet on my coffee table ever again!" Drag King - isn't that what they call the guy who wins on "RuPaul's Drag Race"? Very convincing read of her lines by Lauralee Bell . . . just kidding, she's awful. No feeling whatsoever. The robot girl from "Small Wonder" was a better actress than her.
That's Casey, all right. He was the voice of Robin in various Hanna Barbera "Super Friends" series for years -- circa 1970s and 1980s. Others heard in this commercial include Danny Dark and Olan Soule. What their connection was to Post cereal, I don't know.
Let's see here...commercials are supposed to make you WANT to buy the product, right? Maybe the reason why I didn't have The Legend of Zelda for the NES when I was a kid is because of the annoying commercial with the eraserhead kid yelling ZELDA!! Little did I know the game was great, but how could you tell? The ads were just obnoxious.
wow quite a few psa's! :) omg pat sajack was so young and looked so different! i love him haha and ill never stop loving m&ms my favv! SUPERMAN and the JUSTIC LEAGUE TOO!! bill cosby for speak n' spell ! <33haha im getting too excited!
laugh, i loved my nintendo but even i didn't know each of the enemies names in zelda lol. I only got nintendo power for awhile and as a kid i didn't read manuals heh...
So which villian was created based on the contest? :)
I think i have a old speak and spell somewhere too. Didn't it say anything including curse words heh.... gonna watch your other installments next...
Do they still make puffy stickers? I remember I had a cabbage patch kids book that you decorated with puffy stickers. I cut my nail beds on the edges of them and got super cross when the puffy part would tear off of the backing and wreck the sticker.

In modern commercials, the Peppermint Pattie commercial wife would be disgusted by the husband's behaviour, not play along.
I agree that the Zelda commercial could have been way better.
