i cant descripe how much this song gives me,it's perfect get off reality song / relax song,as my old gf said, this is "whale song" it kinda makes you think this just be "whale" singing, anyways this is the best song ever to fall a sleep / relax, thanks Varg for making amazing music <3
@LEG0B0Y It's a metaphor for life. We go through it without living, performing the same mundane tasks every day--and we never really accomplish anything. Then, as we lay on our death bed, we realize that everything we have done was a waste. We never went anywhere. We exist, and we end.
@Earo16 Well, you could look at it that way, but I don't think that metaphor was Varg's intention.
In the liner notes inside the original pressing on vinyl for Filosofem, and it basically says that the song has something to do with realizing some ultimate truth.
listen to this song in full and you see how it builds up and at the end (this part of the song) that all the pieces within it overlap and fit together. Varg = Musical Genius!
"The well of the region is no longer a dark depth, in which we stare, but a living stream, that fertilely flows through the lands of the North. Yes, to the highest visions of essence, this life can now elevate itself into development of it's true power and particularity, elevated to the father of all, who is up high in Valhalla, to him, the true god..."
i think he gets out in 2014 cuz he was gonna get out in 2005 but his escape in 2003 made it lengthen to the original 21 years sooo hopefully he doesn't screw up again...
I think he wouldn't have even got time in jail to begin with if his views and music weren't so radical relative to his time. I read that there was much bias involved in his court case because of who he was.
this song makes me so hungry

@Earo16 No, you are inferior. Varg VIkernes isn't a sad nihilistic weakling.
