Based on my observations of this video, it appears that Boise would have made the 1st down on the 4th and 18 without the lateral.

The ball appears to be snapped from near the Boise 49 yd line. The catch was made at the 35. Thats 16 yd. Based on how wide open he was, he would have gotten the two yards after the catch required to get a first.

I'm an OU fan and I'm not afraid to say that Boise kicked our ass that night. It was one of Stoops' worst OU teams since 1999. We had a converted WR at QB, and they shouldn't have been anywhere near the Fiesta Bowl. Boise was an undefeated team who showed up to play.

Remember catching this game live, by complete accident. I tuned in saw the score and watched anyway. Suddenly you could fee the momentum change, my wife was on the couch asleep next to me. I love college football more than any other sports the fans and students have so much heart I'm from pennsylvania and I've been to steeler games and Penn state games and nothing beats the intensity of college football but with all the cheating at Miami usc and other schools and the lack of a playoff system is really hurting the game
