He has a nice voice but it doesn't compare to the strength and emotions of Steve Perry's. Steve had a great deal of passion which is something this young man lacks in my opinion.

Watching several videos from early to now, one can appreciate this is more than an awesome voice from a great performer. They are projecting so much that makes a person feel uplifted, tingling, sit up and say, wow.

seems to me the biggest issue is the band carrying on the name with a guy who sounds ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL..... he sounds good, but its obvious that they are using the talents of a guy who sounds like Perry and reaping the rewards..... it would be like using Coverdale to step in for Plant and calling it Led Zeppelin, or a chick who sounds like Anne Wilson and using her to tour in Heart in her stead...... these guys know it was Perry who carried them, which is why they do what they do
