...I would also like to point out that performing a critic based on a performace where the sound quality is from a youtube clip does not suggest much about your aural awareness anyway. Why not get Leonid´s CD and listen again, you might find it easier to hear, better still go to a live concert so you can tell your friends you´ve been honoured enough to hear one of the greatest cellist to ever pick up the instrument. cont...
Desideria7, I would love to know the background you come from that allows you to miss the genius in Leonid's playing and also embaress yourself by making obvious mistakes. After the first note Leonid is using vibrato! I speculate that he doen't use it on the first note as it is in the lower register on the C string and you can make more of an impact/make the string resonate more strongly if you do not use vibrato. If you had some experience in string playing you would know this. cont.....

This is transcription of Sonatina by Schubert for violin and piano. Actually it sounds much better in the original version :) It would be not bad if the cellist could vibrate sometimes and the pianist is very boring. Two persons who seem to be full after a good lunch and decided to play some Schubert to digest the food. Shame!
...If you talk to him afterwards you would also find he is one of the most humble and human men you will ever meet.
And your comment on Demidenko? I think you´ll find yourself slightly outnumbered by the rest of the musical community.
Anyway, you´d best crack on as you´ve a lot to do....
