For the door, if the door locked then it cant open, because the lock for the side door is small and long metal inside and try to keep yourself save inside, so that u can't flew by the side, and thats why if you buy a toyota and honda, they automatic lock when you shift your geer or when all door close they will lock it for you too and evan when you turn on your engin, it will automatic lock it too:)

If it was hit harder, would the front doors opened?! At this impact speed, it seems there was movement around the front door/latch.
