I would like to see you proving that statement about the destroyed optics. The few people that own the 17S are tired of disproving that myth.

Like the G3 or FAL, this SCAR will also be more controllable than the old benchmark of 7.62x51, thus justifying the hyperbole.

He's standing too upright, not leaning forward enough and his feet aren't in the right stance. This is allowing the weapon to control him, instead of him controlling the weapon.
Though yeah, the recoil on any 7.62 battle rifle is high, but it isn't uncontrollable if you know how to shoot. But I'm sure you know that already.
@RTDragonCommando Yes I noticed his off-center stance right away, but that is fairly typical on YT videos... since most avid shooters don't bother to bring a camera. It's a non-event when I go shooting, I shoot 300-500 rounds weekly out of various guns. The only videos where you normally see a good stance are in militia videos.
Yea the 7.62 alone recoils a lot, but there are things you ca do to counter. Like a muzzle brake with ports pushing forward and left to compensate. Who cares really?!?!
@easternelement10 ... also his arm is "chicken winging". To make a smaller profile, as if taking incoming rounds but its good use anyway, tuck the shooting arm towards the body. He has it pushed out at a 70 degree angle. Normally this means the stock can't fit their shoulder or the butt isn't properly seated into the shoulder to allow for tucking.

CoD is a pretty bad place for you to learn about guns. The only way you can really know about guns is to fire them yourself, but the next best thing is doing research.
@AfKman101 SCAR-L fires the 5.56 nato round and is able to use the m16/m4 cartridges. The SCAR-H fires a heavier and stronger round, the 7.62 round which is the same as the aks only comes with 20 round standard clips. I dont think they make extended clips for the H.
theres a lot of recoil because of the caliber. hes shooting the 7.62x51mm version aka .308. if hes was shooting the 5.56x45mm aka .223 there would be barely any notieable recoil.
@nighthunter5185 Yes but it is a very small gas piston. Basically instead of a long gas piston like the Hk416 the SCAR's gas system just throws gas at a big bolt carrier and shoots it back and the return spring loads the next round. The gun's design is very simple. Almost as simple as an AK
@TheFutureMarine2012 Yes, the SCAR-L model fires the 5.56x45mm NATO round and the SCAR-H fires 7.62x51mm NATO rounds. Although the US Special Operations Command are planning to remove the SCAR-L from their inventory as it doesn't really fill a niche that wasn't already filled.
@qwertyaderp They were running rests between the M4, SCAR-H, HK416 and the XM8 in which the HK416 and SCAR performed the best. Although I think the SCAR will stay mainly in the hands of special operations.
Some shooters can shoot it full auto. Its all about techniques. Lean your body forward to push against the recoil. Dont just stand like this dude in the video. Have your both feet slightly bladed and both knees bent a little to give you better balance. And have the support hand closer to the muzzle as possible to control barrel rise.
this gun has a lot of recoil due to the huge round it chambers ( the 308 or 5.56x51mm) In my mind that round is to big and would be utterly uncontrollable on full auto just like an FN FAL is.
i think the scar isnt really good because the charging handle follows the round so if u get your finger between there it can get cut pretty bad even get cut off

I cant believe so many people commented that AK74 fires 5.56. Thats wrong. It originally fires the 5.45. The Russian saw the advantages of intermediate round like the 5.56 nato over 7.62 russian in the battle field... so they come out wit AK74 which chamber wit 5.45. But there is AKs out there fires the 5.56 nato. It got popular by US civilians bcuz we love the 5.56 and nato rounds are more available in the states.
Imagine this fired full auto. (you will need to be REALLY strong to handle that recoil) but anyone in front of that gun would have a VERY, VERY BAD DAY.
I havent fired one yet, I am considering getting a SCAR 17L because I prefer less recoil and ammo is cheaper.

I kicks straight back, allowing for minimal adjustment to fire another accurate shot.
Most rifles I've shot kick to the right which makes it difficult to fire accurately in rapid succession.

@AfKman101 SCAR-L fires the 5.56 nato round and is able to use the m16/m4 cartridges. The SCAR-H fires a heavier and stronger round, the 7.62 round which is the same as the aks only comes with 20 round standard clips. I dont think they make extended clips for the H.

@petervsays 7.62x51 mm (NATO) is the .308 Winchester. The AK-47 fires the 7.62x39 mm.

theres a lot of recoil because of the caliber. hes shooting the 7.62x51mm version aka .308. if hes was shooting the 5.56x45mm aka .223 there would be barely any notieable recoil.

@nighthunter5185 Yes but it is a very small gas piston. Basically instead of a long gas piston like the Hk416 the SCAR's gas system just throws gas at a big bolt carrier and shoots it back and the return spring loads the next round. The gun's design is very simple. Almost as simple as an AK

@TheFutureMarine2012 Yes, the SCAR-L model fires the 5.56x45mm NATO round and the SCAR-H fires 7.62x51mm NATO rounds. Although the US Special Operations Command are planning to remove the SCAR-L from their inventory as it doesn't really fill a niche that wasn't already filled.

@qwertyaderp They were running rests between the M4, SCAR-H, HK416 and the XM8 in which the HK416 and SCAR performed the best. Although I think the SCAR will stay mainly in the hands of special operations.

Some shooters can shoot it full auto. Its all about techniques. Lean your body forward to push against the recoil. Dont just stand like this dude in the video. Have your both feet slightly bladed and both knees bent a little to give you better balance. And have the support hand closer to the muzzle as possible to control barrel rise.

this gun has a lot of recoil due to the huge round it chambers ( the 308 or 5.56x51mm) In my mind that round is to big and would be utterly uncontrollable on full auto just like an FN FAL is.

i think the scar isnt really good because the charging handle follows the round so if u get your finger between there it can get cut pretty bad even get cut off

I cant believe so many people commented that AK74 fires 5.56. Thats wrong. It originally fires the 5.45. The Russian saw the advantages of intermediate round like the 5.56 nato over 7.62 russian in the battle field... so they come out wit AK74 which chamber wit 5.45. But there is AKs out there fires the 5.56 nato. It got popular by US civilians bcuz we love the 5.56 and nato rounds are more available in the states.

Imagine this fired full auto. (you will need to be REALLY strong to handle that recoil) but anyone in front of that gun would have a VERY, VERY BAD DAY.
