Great tutorial for those who don't know how to do something like this, but you should have used a mask to mask out what if behind his arm so that you can always go back and make small changes instead of CTRL+ATL+Z'ing and losing your entire erased section.

Good tut! However I' d reccommend using layer masks, then you' d just duplicate the first layer and recreate the second glow with the black brush. Still, good skills as I didn´t know this one.

... All he did was assign a glow to the layer style of that layer; everything in it will adopt a "glow" effect. In other words, all he had to do was just draw a white line with the brush tool before messing with the layer style. People just like making stuff seem complicated so that they feel smart.
