@21mselie To tell the truth, no singer is great, just because he/she is from "X" band. The band can be good, because "X" sings in it, but not the other way. Personally, I liked Nightwish until the 'End of an Era', and that's it. It's not that Anette would be so bad - she just sucks compared to Tarja. And - but this is only my personal opinion - she sucks compared to Lena, too.

Lena has a good voice, but I definitely prefer Anette's in this song. Somehow, Lena sounds a bit too 'rough' to me, very edgy and kinda raw. Anette has a much sweeter voice, very emotional and innocent, which fits better with the feeling of this song, imho.

I haven't ever heard Lena live, I can't really compare these two singers on anything else BUT THIS SONG, for, as far as I know, this is the only piece of music they've both sung. I don't know what age has to do with that, if anything, one should start singing worse and worse getting older(see Marco for example, as you seem to have been a NW fan)

@ISeeAnIdiot Actually Marco used to be a really good singer, with a piercing voice and good control. Also, quite an ample range. Now, he seems to have gotten a bit "rusty". Maybe the years of alcohol and smoking are taking their toll on him. Anette did have SOME singing lessons from what I've read, but I don't think she does it regularly. Actually I remember reading an interview where she said she just trains after a book, or so. And she's very keen on improvising. Some works, some not.

@ISeeAnIdiot I actually like Marco quite a bit =D I guess the personality really does the trick in his case, cause he seems to be a great guy, at least in my opinion. Fun to tour with and shit. In the end, I guess it's all about the chemistry within the band. Same with Sami and Tarja. If things dont work, then they don't work. We can of course have a positive or a negative opinion about something, it's still not gonna change what the bandmembers think. I chose to be on their side :)

I love Lena's voice in this song. Sounds so innocent and sweet. Which is the main metaphor of the song. While Lauri sounds deep, cold and soft, like October, Lena sounds innocent, sweet and at the same time, with a feeling of longing, which fits perfectly April and its longing for October. The only thing i would change is the fact that Lena tends to cut the phrases in the end. She needs to make them more legato on the end, that way it would feel softer and not so abrupt. Anette does great, too.

It's just that Anettes version flows better and her voice fits more with Lauriis.... It sounds like it was more of a perfect match with Laurette´s version of the song then Lauenas..

Both versions of the song are simply beautiful. Both Anette's and Lena's voices are so extremely unique, though, that I couldn't possibly choose between the two! They each have such a wonderful talent, and I only wish that I could sing half as well as they could.

Lauri's voice still makes me melt. I don't know if I've ever heard his voice go this low. He sounds incredible! I can't wait to hear more from him!

Although I must point out that the song was originally recorded with Anette. It was released on November 17, 2009. Lena's version wasn't recorded until 2010.

@GenieBella The Rasmus released the song on their Greatest Hits album in the Autumn of 2009. The said they originally wanted to record the song with Nightwish's ex-singer, Tarja Turunen, and that Tuomas Holopainen had given his 'blessing' for this to happen but Tarja wasn't keen on the song and so nothing happened. Anette was already a Rasmus fan so she was keen to take on the project. Lena recorded her vocals at a later date as promo for her album. She never went into the studio with The Rasmus

OMFG This is the song for me and a guy I used to like!! We met on the Internet. It's silly, but I liked him a lot, but we never got to meet. Then he had to travel overseas for 3 years with his military dad, and we blocked each other cuz we couldn't see each other or meet anymore.

I'm with the Annette version. While Lena has an absolutely amazing voice, I think Anette's voice matches with his better, and was probably why it was chosen. I don't think it's at all a matter of who's a better singer. Anette just matches better for this song. Still, it's nice to have 2 amazingly beautiful versions of the same piece. Too bad they didn't do the music video with Lena too... she's gorgeous.
