  • my hp power indicator is on but my screen is not turning on any help?

  • hello, how do i make the icon smaller on netbooks, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • fake macbook.

  • @0sba I got one for 70 bucks on eBay . Beats paying an unholy amount for a macbook

  • anyone know how to open up this laptop cause i need to repair something inside cant get it open

  • Not a very polished presentation, not good to rock the lid back and forth while you talk.

  • yo gus can anyone tell me that which mini laptop have cd/dvd drive drive and windows vista

  • almost everyone doesnt have one ..but what i did was i bought a external DvD drive for 70$

  • sux.... i can lose this shit in my pocket, an i can totaly lose my sight when i stare at that small screen

  • thats the whole point of these laptops. the smaller and more portable they are the better

  • i agree with you i just dont see how people like 18 inch laptop i mean what is the point of a laptop that is that huge the less the merrier jajaja

  • Eee PC is the best netbook in my opinion. All i will use it for is forums, youtube, and as a sort of home weather station. (I know how to read just about every kind of radar)

  • I don't like the screen of that netbook, Acer Aspire One is way better.

  • haha that thing is uuuuuuuuuuugly

  • if you have bought this like me, lose vista and install xp, mine is so fast now after getting rid of vista

  • How much?

  • I wish everyone put a 7200 rpm drive...

  • its a netbook not a NOTEBOOK, i dont think any netbook has a CD / DBD drive,

  • Correction this one does

  • Yeah I sai d" I dont think " I didn't say however "there isnt a netbook in the world without a CD/DVD drive." so yeah Mine was just an un-educated opinion or guess so was there a need to correct it?

  • really were cause i did not saw ahole

  • huh? r u gay? yes? i know u dont have to tell me ;)

  • yeah go fuckyourself bicth thats all u got

  • Bought one, its really nice, but yeah isnt the fastest watching videos smoothly at full screen of even in WMP11, was dissipointed. Also wireless drops out or wont connect at all, have updated the drivers and bios etc... No help.. Freezes also and touch pad randomly stop working after i updated the bios but left it over night and the next morning it was working... random.

But yeah hopefully i can take it back. Which is sad because its really nice looking and nice to type on etc.

  • For your vidoes abandon WMP, instal KMPlayer, it goes like a train on these netbooks. Not sure why your wireless is bad, why don't you send it to HP to fix it before the warranty runs out. It shouldn't do that. Mine is second hand but still perfect. Also upgrade the RAM, it makes a huge difference.

  • I tried VLC Video player also but still was bad.

But yeah its to late, I've got an aspire one now and I'm really happy with it, also its lighter and more battery life.

But they both have their pros and cons.

  • why is the screen size NOT the largest possible wich they could have fitted it with ?

    my score 0/5

  • on tiger direct............300 1.2 ghz manufacture in april, 120 gig hard drive.....1 gig ram.....i just upgraded the ram for 25bucks....this sucker is a powerhouse on limewire but just pick all your downloads and go to bed.

  • 300 US at Tigerdirect.....it was the 1.2ghz, 1gig, 8.5 inch...120 gig 5400...running xp.......with office......runs skype freaking amazing......picks up my phone calls for my cell via bluetooth. Just bought a BT go mouse that slides in the Express slot. Runs Divx great........the sound on this thing rocks for a such a little pc. Set it up to hibernate when you close the lid and throw into a back pack and it shouldn't ever over heat. This is best little 300 netbook ever.

  • i JUST ORDERD ONE FOR 300......AND IM HAPPY!

  • from were?

  • how you liking it man?

  • so if there is not cd/dvd drive how can I install or reinstall an operation system and drives incase I have to do it.

I understand about programs those can be installed though USB flash drives.

so what about system drivers and Operating systems?

  • You can buy an external USB DVD drive.

  • hi you have to create a bootable usb sick you will need oh a pc with a cd/dvd drive

    1. 1 or 2GB stick 2gb is better

    2. Windows XP SP3 bootable cd

    3. prep_usb

just google on how to setup i did it last knight took me 1hr to do it. i had to wxp sp3 as there more drivers on there so xp will see the chipset and drive controller. if you get stuck let me know :)

  • yeap been there done that - google bartpe for a method of installing XP onto a mininote via USB stick

  • THe Best Way Is To Go To My Computer

Go To Your Cd Drive And Right CLick And Choose Sharing And Secerity And alow it to be shared and changed and it will be on your computer or just watch my tutorial please

  • I loved my HP 2133 -- which I bought after looking at video reviews like this. It was great, for about six months, Then it just stopped working. A web search of HP forums reveals I am not the only person with this problem, and a bad motherboard is the most likely culprit. Now I am getting crap after sales support from HP.

  • which is better hp mini-note pc or hp mini?

  • both are the same thing

  • For 3 benjamins I dont Mind buying a PC netbook

  • I've just seen a display model for £200, so I'm curious about it.

  • they look so tiny!

would you be able to watch youtube videos on it since the screen is so small?

  • The 2133 display rez starts at 1024x600, not 1280xN. Not to mention how much nonsense it is to say "large 8.9 inc h display", which is just marketing fluff. 8.9 is 8.9, if it was larger, it would be larger. Duh! I still love my 2133 though, but won't review anything until I've used it for a few more weeks.

  • it would be good to see linux take off, they problem is they are not very user friendly, and i use alot of terminal mode to install programs, which is a down side for some one who know nothing about computers,so linux need to become more user friendly,if they want to take off,its a good operating system, less viruse and spyware than windows, immune to alot of windows viruses and spyware, but not user freindly, great operating system for the advanced user, but like i said not user friendy enough

  • Can you use a Capture Card on it?

  • I've had one for almost a year, absolutely love it (I have 5 other computers), the screen at 160 dpi is stunning and makes reading a breeze, keyboard at 92% is amazing and speed is fine, can do everything from surfing to photoshop to C++ development on it. I now have windows 7 on it and it WROKS! The "build quality" is amazing too, unlike other "netbooks" that seem "plasticy", just throw it my bag no prob. I got it for 500$ but is cheaper now. crazy price/performance ratio.

  • its about 350 USD at time

  • how much is it?

  • except mini note

  • all mainstream HP got nvidia, the crappy ones got HD 3200

  • @mikeccuk2006

I would rather get 3200 actually. If you google "nvidia defective", you'll see thousands of people who have a burnt out Nvidia card. Nvidia is currently being sued for not disclosing this to the its shareholders.

  • that usually applies to g8x series, the non rebranded like 9300m gs (nb9) are not defective

  • I don't know very much about video cards (no idea what is a nb9) but some 9xxx video cards still have the problem (ex. 9600m). I'm not sure if that will affect the 9300m but I know that I will not be buying from Nvidia for a long time.

The issue is not which card is defective. The issue is the way Nvdia is handling the issue. They have yet to admit all the cards that are defective. They have only admitted the 8 series but it is evident that many people with 7 and 6 series have that defect too.

  • really nice how much?

  • nvm i found out thats pretty expensive

  • it only $449

  • you can get it in the UK for £200 from amazon

  • 200 quid

  • HP is the shit

  • holy damn. its vista! ima get it

  • u think it will run wow or guild wars?

  • hmm would not say

  • he said 2 gigs of ram so yah most likely cuz wow only takes 1.. just get a bigger flash mem drive to store it on

  • im using that right now, but it has 140gb :)

  • Very few netbooks and Ultra Portables come with optical drives because of the size and weight contraints.

  • Agreed...but HP 2133 does need a lot of time to boot since it has a weaker processor and runs on Vista, which drains power.Overall it's a great netbook, one of the best.

  • the MacBook Air is way better. Mainly because.... it's a MAC!!! PC STINKS!!!! MACS FTW!!

  • who cares

  • It also costs a grand more and is nothing like this 2123. This is a 9 inch web book. The air is a 13.3 inch note book.

I love macs, I have a macbook pro myself. But this just fits the job I have in hand, for a really low price. They're going for under £200 now!

  • Macs are better for girls and fags.

  • Hence the name "Macfag"

  • or for graphic designers, music makers, video editors, or people who like a better media experience?

I don't hate on Windows, i'm testing Windows 7 now and running linux on my 10 inch vaio, but saying macs are for girls and fags show how little you know about them.

  • Of course it's an over exaggeration to say macs are ONLY for girls and fags. It's just a generalization. Macs attract people with more feminine qualities.

  • I have hp mini 2133 2g memory 160g hd processor is sucks till now I can't make any video or audio call on skype for more then some seconds and the system shut down a lot of parasites in the woofers back or white lines and dots on the screen on full mode, the sachet get too hot and the CPU vent turning like insane ,forget about multitasks and using vista, thi

  • maybe you should invest in a Mac?

  • Anybody want to give me their opinion on getting the 160GB 5400rpm Hard Drive or the 120GB 7200rpm Hard Drive. Is trading space for speed worth it? Or is the speed difference really not that huge of a deal?

  • Great Netbook!! I love the larger keyboard and high resolution screen. I have Pavilion Tablet/Notebook and the keyboard is almost just as big. I couldn't believe the 2 GB on system memory and the fast 1.6 GHz processor. It only has 1 GB less memory than my laptop! Very impressive. The other neat thing are the card slots and 2 USB slot, very good. Though the mousepad is a little cumbersome, it works once you get used to it. Overall I love this thing because it's light, etc.

  • aww i like it but i wish the screen was bigger

  • Please, not use Vista in Netbooks!

Xp or Linux are better options for netbooks.

Samsung Nc-10, MSI Wind or Asus 1000H are the best!

  • @eclipsegdr was gonna tell you bout lenovo S10, :p saw comment date

  • @eclipsegdr

I use Windows 7 on my netbook... 7 RULES!!!

  • @eclipsegdr lol dont use xp either, i got a netbook and it lagged with xp. Just use Linux! I personally am not a big fan of Linux, but it will do for this case!

  • and the CD's????!!! :(

  • Indeed. I did not see it either. Does it not take CDs???

  • No net book has an optical drive, they just add pounds.

  • This looks great but please, the eee pc 1000h is alot better, the eee has atom procesor were the hp has a via (whats that), also the screen on the hp is really small but the keyboard is a great size (asus is 92% keyboard)... lastly i will say the eee pc is slightly heavier than the hp but eee pc has 6 cell batter (7 hours battery life).... EEE pc for office work and games (eee pc 1000h can play guildwars, wow, quake 4 etc) and the hp is better for office work and very low spec games (eee pc FTW)

  • this looks pretty good but that looks like a huge massive bulg of battery !im not sure if i want it know

  • its not standard

  • wow... its running vista

  • yeah i was going to buy that one till i found that out.....

    i got the acer aspire

    but vista sucks

  • Just get the HP Mini 1000, Problem solved.

  • I will get one once they have Vista on it. What is going to happen once XP is taken off life support???

  • this UMPC war makes the consumer suffer!!!

  • Design or performance that's the question

  • This is a very slow system with a very slow out dated processor. battery life is only 1.5 hours. No wonder amazon lower the price down to $400 the same time the New Acer One 160 gig, 6 cell battery with the Atom Processor came out....get the Acer...this HP is out dated.

  • so what hardrive and RAM does it have ?

do you think i could play WoW on this?

  • the linux version has 1gb of ram and 120gb harddrive. the vista version has 2gb of ram and 120gb harddrive. I dont have the hp mini note but ive run WoW on my netbook with no problems. not sure how the mini note will handle it.

  • i bought an eeepc 2g surf for some lite web-browsing and a second laptop. It was $250. This HP is <$700. Why would you spend that much for a "partial laptop" when you could plop down that same amount for a discount laptop with better power and around the same mobility? Its HP's MacBook Air.

  • Oh, I forget Vista sux!!!

  • HP sux!!!

  • A psp has more battery life than this piece of shit

  • rofl ye

  • how much is it

  • i was mesmerized by this mini-notebook however the major thing that bothers me is that it doesnt have a built in optical drive.....huhuhuhu

  • no S video? that to me is the deal breaker, a dvd drive would have been nice too, and also a smaller power cable system.

  • wow, great review. thank you. you are very good at this. keep it up.

  • please do not buy this laptop i made the mistake of buying this and 3 months later im trying to sell it

  • That'll tech you to do some research first loser

  • they should put a celeron processor, just like eee

  • hp rocks

  • ugly screen, Dell's nicer.

  • dells fricen blow on fire

  • can it run game like world of warcraft at minimum settings?

  • what does a regular laptop have that a mini doesnt?

  • so... How much would one of these things cost??

  • I BOUGHT ONE FOR 699 PLUS TAX

i like almost everything about it

except for the touchpad it doesnt' respond well and the laptop gets pretty hot.

and it defienity needs an intel processor

  • Should be running Linux.

  • the $500 model runs comes with suse.

  • a 1.6 ghrtz is slow, but what can you expect for a laptop whose size is like a hand; I'll guess it has a pentium dual core or a centrino duo, this one is cool for the XP but slow for Vista. Though, it's a great model, I liked the keyboard but I find it unconfortable typing on 0.5 inch keys...lol but great PC, and also 2 USB ports? Today one needs at least 4 USB ports..... I'll guess the good one will cost more than 1000. Like the sony vaio, the little one, its about 1500. Great video!

  • this model is using some sort of HP processor, whilst most other Netbooks use the new Intel Atom.

    A smaller Core 2 Duo.

  • 5400 vs 7200rpm doesn't really have an impact on battery life.

the 6-cell option is ugly. and the 3-cell battery is pathetic. NEXT!

  • i like it...but it has a small screen

  • Showing boot up time is a MUST in these demos!

No boot up demo = nearly worthless. If it takes 2 min to get started, I don't care how good the specs or features are.

  • i hate waiting for it to boot up too... so i keep it on 24/7... LOL...

  • inclued this circular batery in all versions?

  • hp 2133 is really cute :P but how long does 3-cells batt can last? coz i tend to buy it this week.. (p/s my english sux)

  • How long does the charging last?

  • mine (6 cell) last a little bit more than 4 hours... if you buy the 12 cell it last WAY WAY WAY longer!

  • Thanks. I'll be looking for the 12 cell model then.

  • I did a quick google search but I've got many things to do besides looking for batteries.. Where can I find a 12-cell battery for the HP 2133?

  • mmm.

  • mmm. i think on ebay, like 2 weeks ago a 12 cell battery went at $20 dlls, but i havent found any more :( try the HP website maybe that helps

  • I prefer the 24 cell battery but its huge..

  • I prefer the 24 cell but it's huge

  • Does anyone know how to change the operating system (from linux to XP) ?

  • Why on Earth would you want to do that?

  • its actually fast

  • Does the HP 2133 come with a case?

(even if it's a crappy one?)

    Thanks.

  • so ,i can by to do now.........

  • How much does it cost ?

  • Where? In USA from %499 (1ghz via cpu, 512mb ram, 4gb ssd + linux)

    ... to $749 (1'6ghz via cpu, 2gb ram, 120gb 7200rpm sata + vista business).

In Europe; starting only in UK for £385.11 (1'2ghz via cpu, 2gb ram, 120gb 5400rpm sata + vista business).

More info i don't have & as this lil things are not available, prices can also change (for all future commentators here;))

  • thanks
