This is outrageous. I'm sure most Navy guys would agree that this is not a normal Navy Bridge. Something is funny here. It looks like a Navy ship but something is real wrong. No covers, no uniforms, loud talking. I would love to know the real story here.
@memphisapplegate, I hear you. I can assure you that this was normal and routine operation at that time 1994/95, before the second Iraq war and Afghanistan. I was the photographer. It was summer and very warm. It was in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, very relax condition. The hammering you hear are guys fixing a window that broke due to high sea and wind a few nights back. The captain allowed all of us to be in denim shorts and white tee-shirts, hence the condition you see us in.
Right on Birdno and SN Johnson are tight! The boatswain mate of the watch I never met! The Quarter Master guy was there when I was there! What about Bm Schwartzman?
It may be illegal for the Chinese or the Russians. The officer of the deck is right in there with us and he didn't say a thing. Besides, we were all federal properties at that time, so it was cool.
