I worked at Mayday Hills whilst doing my psychiatric residency. I also worked at Aradale, J Ward, Larundel, Willsmere and Mont Park. This documentary is totally fabricated. There were no salt boxes in the 1980's and the concept of dental removal is outstandingly vulgar. Patients were encouraged to work to enable them a smooth transition into life outside the institution and to promote mental wellness. Chemical restraints? Anti-psychotics drugs relieved psychosis and mania.
Biased, sensationalism, out to promote the Tourist Industry, salt boxes 14 years ago-questionable/bullshit......you guys are wannabe actors and as for your emotive expert - get involved in today
Patients used as slave labour, some of them not even supposed to be there as by today's standard they would not be considered to be mentally ill, punished if they didn't complete their duties, starved, strapped to chairs, given medication and then electric shocks, locked up in isolation for hours on end with no hope of release from the asylum, general neglect, spread of disease and staff raping patients...well all that bears the hallmarks of a concentration camp
Ive been on a ghost tour at this asylum, its really good and the guy with the umbreller is one of the tour guides and they have a reason for those umbrelleras.
I bet Lorraine Lucas has some dirty little stories she would not like people to know about. Her hard face gives a lot away zero compassion. Shame on you for the cruel treatment you dished out. Call it intuition on my part.
Good example of how scary stories start. You have one side that is always under exagerrated-and the other which is over exaggerated. Which is closer to the truth? i guess no one will never really know what the full extent was.

I don't like the way the umbrella guy is so glib with the way he says the stuff, it's almost to the point of being offensive.
