for those who feels Roger is the best grappler, that is, however, a matter of opinion. it certainly helps when you are 6'4" and weighing in at 240 lbs. Not to take anything away from him, he is definitely ONE of the best. By the way, he is not really a Gracie. He is, actually, a Gomez.

Gracies have been trying to add striking...but honestly Royce striking was better before he learned Muay.

Grappling has always been a sub division of street boxing. boxing is the perfect of making yourself into a weapon...every kung fu style has it's own Chin na or grappling....but the focus has always been striking....as it most effective for combat.

Even Choy is known as a boxing style but honestly ,I probably practice grappling more than most mma guys. =)
