pretty amazing voice, not suiting to some genres but excellent range especially because most would go falsetto and be lazy. A tip though is to use a pop filter as you get occasional plosives on the mic and also to use a De-esser on the vocal you have great control over esses but it would help the vocal sit better. The last thing would be not to hold the headphones, it's a habit you need to shake. great performances!

@BUCKSUPENT No. The Finalizer is connected inbetween my mixer and CD-Writer. In other words, the final mix goes into the Finalizer, and then from the finalizer straight into a CD-Writer for mastering.

@TheGayRendition Hi there - yes the C3000b has an in-built pop filter but it isn't effective when singing this close. And yes the video is lip-synched (but it is me singing). I did the verses and choruses in seperate takes (as per the description).

@danieleither Well there certainly isn't anything wrong with lip-synching to your own recording! Joe Meek outboard compressors are good, not like the crappy Pro Tools plug-in ones. In case no one told you this yet - you look like a younger John Barrowman :-)

The other backing tracks I have used are Karaoke backing tracks, however I am capable of making my own backing tracks, as you will discover when I start uploading my original stuff :D

You need a pop filter. Nice voice but not great engineering. Also I think this mic would be better on a female voice. You sing very well but you need some audio engineering lessons/

Thank you - what is a pop shield? And what mic would you recommend? I have been considering upgrading to a Neumann TLM 103 to give you an idea of budget. I don't pretend to be a good audio engineer, and certainly some lessons in this field would be beneficial, but I am only doing this for a bit of fun, bedroom recording and all that - would appreciate any tips you can give though :D

A pop shield is the round thing, usually black nylon but sometimes metal mesh, that stops 'plosives' and 'blasting'. Basically the intense low freq blast that comes from p's and f's. If you can afford a neumann you can afford a 30-60 dollar pop shield. Try audio masterclass. Pretty affordable, good instruction. It'll help you improve your recordings. How long you've been singing?

Well I have been playing keyboards / piano since I was 6, played in bands for 15 years or so up until recently when I took over a nightclub so don't have the time for bands any more :( I will get myself a pop shield as per your reccommendation. What do you think of the TLM 103 Neumann? A good choice for vocals?
