I absolutely love the fact you made this sound like a completely different story than it was at first. Good job on making this sound like it shifted genres.
This makes me want to write something spite-ful where Zelda figures out that Jenna is a creature of darkness using illusions and mind-control to try and take over Hyrule. Considering I know next to nothing about LoZ, I'll probably hold off on that.
AND ANOTHER THING! When did Jen EVER show power over earth or water? Please point me to the paragraph that justifies Zelda's statement that Jen inherited earth and water powers. I am QUITE interested.
There was ONE FREAKING MENTION of some kind of "unknown fiery wind" during the Dark Link fight - which was probably just swirling heat - and suddenly she's a master of wind, too? You're a firebender, Jen. Not the avatar. Deal with it.
Why is Link still in the story? Clearly he isn't needed anymore - Jenna has her perfect baby and is now the most powerful being in Hyrule. How silly that they had to downgrade to Link to destroy Ganon hawhaw
When I saw the last paragraph before the video ended, I thought it was the last part and the end of the story, happy to finish the whole godforsaken thing untill then I saw part 29.
Never had they encountered someone in Hyrule with power over the elements!
Let's count the reasons for why this is completely wrong.
1. Link's Fire, Ice, and Light Arrows, as well as Din's Fire and Farore's Wind
2. Koume/Kotake/Twinrova
3. Ganon, with the power of darkness
This excluding all of the enemies that aren't human that Link encountered which could control elements. Obviously, Jenna didn't play Ocarina of Time, and just heard about it from one of her friends.
@xVIDEOxGAMExFREAKx Light, darkness, and ice are not among the classical elements, but your point about Din's Fine and Farore's Wind still stands, and you could make a case that ice counts as an aspect of water. Jenna is certainly not the first person in Hyrule to ever use magic that is tinted with the classical elements.
@arianaaislinn O, there's more. Wait until later this afternoon when the next one goes up. Nomatter how much the plot has progressed, there's always room for another awful sex scene.
I just wanted to say, I love how you read Jenna. I'm now convinced that she's an evil, conniving, Snidely Whiplash-esque villain with the intent to take over the world. I can hear her(him) saying- "Today, Hyrule, tomorrow, the world!!! Bwahahaha!!!"
You know, the protagonist of a story doesn't usually get a moment like this. The one where they gloat that they've already won, that they've conquered the main love interest, that they are the most powerful being in the universe, and that nothing can possibly stop them now. That's typically the villain's big scene, not the hero's. Just saying.
I got a friend of mine to help with the writing of the final chapter. She's REALLY gonna get it now. ((Also, "Coming to Take me Away" should totally be the theme song for this story))
So, Jenna is not just a Mary Sue and a Relationship Sue, she's also a Sympathetic Sue, a Fixer Sue, a Black Hole Sue, a Purity Sue, and a God Mode Sue, as well as the Messiah.
...I think you have found the queen of all Mary Sues, sir.
I must have completely blanked out while reading this part. I seriously cannot remember them speaking to Zelda about this.
Born from a water-, and earth-elementals, she has the power of all the elements. She may be a Mary-Sue, but seriously, there should be some kind of explanation for all of this. Even "my parents found me in a crater in their field one day" works.
But just because I can, I will from now on picture Jenna as a mix of a Zora and one of those tree-imps from Wind Waker. =3
@turtlecrackers that almost makes me want to draw that...XD Has anyone ever done pictures for this fanfic? Gosh, they would have to be really superb to offset the awfulness of the story...
@TheDramaticReadings Hmm, I have no idea. I can't remember seeing any art specifically made for this story. I would love to make pictures of the tacky jewelry, though... If I knew how to make my own jewelry, I'd make replicas of them. =) With plastic beads and all.
@ZeldaQueen64 That is true. XD I don't understand why she's so obsessed with it in this story. I mean, it's a symbol of the royal family, not a fashion accessory. XD;;
@turtlecrackers The suethor probably failed to realize that. When I sporked this thing, I noticed that she seemed to not notice that just because canon characters had stuff or could do stuff, not every single person could have or do them also (like when she goes into the Lost Woods without a fairy and then has Link build their home there). Either that or she *does* know how special the symbol is and thinks her character is Just That Great. X(
@ZeldaQueen64 Yeah, I'm going with the latter, really. =( It's just the feeling I'm getting, since she keeps treating Zelda as her darn chamber maid.
I started trying to spork this about a year ago, but there was just So Much Wrong that I thought that my brain was going to give up. I raged a lot while reading this for the first time. Getting a fairy? Going into the Lost Woods without becoming a Stalchild or Stalfos? Turning Link into a meek little whimp? TURTLE SMASH! DX
@turtlecrackers I noticed also that Jenna has this horrible thing where she dumbs down or steals the traits of the more obvious female love interests from canon. So Saria, Malon, and Nabooru were all pretty subtle and are mostly left alone, but Ruto and Zelda were very obvious and get terrible treatment. :(
Ohhhh man alive! I brought in Link, Ganondorf, and Midna to help me spork and there was much cursing to be had. It was sort of cathartic.
@ZeldaQueen64 Yes, I noticed that too. Because Jenna is such a bland character, without any real personality beyond "I am awesome", the rest of the cast have to be even less interesting, so that the MarySue can stand out.
Hence whenever I've added an OC to a fanfic, they're mostly background characters, and play their part without overshadowing the main cast. After all, what the fans care about is the main characters, not the OCs. Unless it's a great OC villain.
@turtlecrackers Yeah, it's an unfortunate side effect to the idiotic and bland Mary Sue - the other characters are severely dumbed down. Just look at Twilight -_- (apologies to Twilight fans ^^; )
I never got into Twilight. I guess I'm too old for it. XD; But I read Vampire Diaries when I was in my early teens. it's basically the same thing as Twilight, but the main character is slightly less annoying. Not to be confused with the TV series. They changed so much about it that I can't watch it without getting annoyed. XD;;
@turtlecrackers I completly understand what you mean. I am very careful with adding OCs to my fanfic too. It's either someone who, per logic has to have existed at one point anyway or, as you mentioned, unimportant NPC Nr. 2108. In my latest fic, I have this one fairy, whom I had to handle carefully... She appears to be unimportant for 25 chapters, starts getting suspicious for 5 chapters, before she backstabs Link. Then, she is removed from the regular cast and reduced to the BigBad's mook.
My own fandom while I was writing fanfics was One Piece. In one short story I made (a random futurefic), I added in some random extra people in the crew, just to make the crew bigger, and I later turned them into fleshed-out characters for other projects. =)
They were pretty much just mentioned to give an impression that there were more people in the scene than the seven main characters at the time, but I liked the concept I made up for them.
@turtlecrackers Wow, One Piece! I could never write a fanfic for that one... all the ever-changing continuity to keep track of. *_* My fanfics ten to span between 20-70 chapters... Canon would have changed by the time I got to the end, which would furstrate me.
That's why I've stuck to Videogames lately. New games are being released slower than anime episodes, after all. And even here I got screwed up with one of my KH Fics... the 3 latest games crushed it. T-T
@OtakuNeni XD I know! Which is why I mostly concentrated on writing fics that were set between events in the manga. Kind of like the movies, set while they're traveling between islands. But damn that Oda for throwing new twists with every new chapter. -mutters something about stealing Odacchi's imagination and story skills-
Awwh. D= Yeah, it's tough when you can't predict what will happen, and the canon goes in a completely different direction.
... And we're taking this a bit OT now... Oh well.
@ZeldaQueen64 Agreed. I'm drawing "fan"art (probably more like hate-art) of Jenna right now and am trying to give her an apron with hundreds of Triforces on it... Keyword being "trying". I cannot get myself to add more than 6 of those... That poor sacred symbol. X.x
@ZeldaQueen64 You mean the royal crest? Hey, that's actually a very good idea, given how much emphasis she puts on Jenna being a "surrogate Princess" or something... Thanks! ^^
I'll tell you once the picture is done! For now, I have Jenna with whiskers (CATLIKE INSTINCTS FTW!) in an apron-dress-thing with a burning Chakram (forgive me, Axel of the KH games) and with Link on a leash. Also, she's holding a sign: "Wife of the "Hero of Time". Speshul!!11" *arrow pointing down to her*
@OtakuNeni I just remember that after she has sex for the first time in the Honeymoon chapter, she mentions putting on a dress with "a gold Hylian symbol" on it. I assume that's what it was.
@ZeldaQueen64 By the way, I loved your MSTing. XD It was genius. I was just a tiny little bit disappointed that you didn't include Toon-Link. I would have loved to see a little kid getting mind-raped by godawful sex-scenes featuring an alternate self of his. XD
Dunno, I always throw him in when I MST something "Zelda", because he's just the perfect character to give weird quirks to freak the others out with. It adds dynamic.
Yeah, I prefer OOT Link, who is a grumpy bugger. There's actually a bit of a reason for that - that's the way he ended up in a fanfiction I wrote, in which he and most of the OOT/MM/TP main characters wound up as contestants in Big Brother. Turns out that Link isn't such a nice guy. XD
I do like Toon Link, but he doesn't stick with me as well. I think it's because his games sort of turned into one-shots (which I still love, don't get me wrong ^^; )
@ZeldaQueen64 The DS games mainly seem to be there to reference the earlier games in the series. PH was a giant Link's Awakening reference with some Minish Cap for good measure and Spirit Tracks threw Wind Waker and Twilight Princess references at us left and right. Spirit Tracks also had awesome plot and gameplay, but I can't help thinking was half-finished.
TWW remains my fav Zelda game. I loved Wind Waker for its version of Link... he had, you know... actual development. O-O ...Kinda.
@OtakuNeni I know, it just irks me a little that the DS games have only had one-shot giant monster Big Bads instead of some hints at an arch. Like Vaati! It'd be nice if they brought back Vaati! ^_^
I have to say that OOT and MM are my favorites, but TP's a close third. I never will forget how awe-struck my twelve-year-old self was by OOT. Good times. :)
@ZeldaQueen64 I am suspecting that Ganondorf was supposed to be the Big Bad in ST, but they realized last minute "Wait... he's at the bottom of the sea with a magic sword in his head...How do we fix that?", so they changed it. After all, Malladus is pretty much his mentally retarded twin-brother. -.-; I miss Vaati too. ^^ I even own a doll of him...
To be honest, it hurst me to know that we'll probably never get a young Link on a main-console again. I like Kid-Heroes. I can't help it. T-T
@ZeldaQueen64 Oh, by the way, I liked you articulated that you don't hate Toon Link. It's always nice to see someone who doesn't downgrade TWW, MC, PH and ST just because of their grafics. Personally, I think of all Zelda games as awesome in their own way. You know I am writting a fanfic right now where the epochs and timelines of the games mix due to... long story. I am mainly trying to give all the games a chance to shine in this fic... even though OoT, TWW and TP get the most attention.
@OtakuNeni Yeah, I do prefer OOT/MM graphics the most (I know they're not as detailed as TP, but that sort of adds to it ^^; ) but the Toon Link games are still fun. I especially loved Spirit Tracks!
Let's wait until the plot kicks back in, and she winds up being lifted to the top of a tower (Mary Sue climb!? Bah!) and shines a bright light that saves everyones and destroys all of evil forever.. Sorry. Sines a briht lite that saves everyon and destros evil all of tim forevr.
Holy crap, I'm in stitches! I didn't see the BLESSED gag coming, and the Flash Gordon thing is what really had me rolling. (I think it's because of Queen.) The shouting of the footnotes is hysterical too, and if you actually read those footnotes, most of them are completely useless.
Also, whenever I read 'expression changed into a happy one' I think of the awesome smiley face.
May I add that the whole Silverlites thing makes NO sense whatsoever, since elemtal spells are, about the most common in the whole game series. (Link has a had fire-rods, wind-batons, fire-spell-crystal, wind-spell-crystals, elemtal arrows and the song of storms) Also, there already IS an race of ancients! The Hylians THEMSELVES are refered to as those in A Link to the Past. They just haven't become rare yet by the time of OoT.
"Coming to take me away" LOL. I love that song! XD
God, the last part was indeed a Sue-gasm. It's like Jenna lost all patience and rushed directly to the part when SHE was the LEGENDARY PROTECTOR and not the simple farm girl she was a few chapters earlier.
Also, I'm a foreigner studying English, and now each time I read the word "Water", I have the compulsion to say it George the Volcano's style. Thanks a lot.
I absolutely love the fact you made this sound like a completely different story than it was at first. Good job on making this sound like it shifted genres.

Let's recap what Jenna's stolen:
-Zelda's post as the King's daughter.
-Zelda's post as the next for the throne (I'm sure Zelda'll let her take it)
-Link's place as the most powerful being
-The Sage's position as the protectors of Hyrule
-The Goddesses's positions as being the creature worshipped by all of Hyrule
-Navi's position as the most annoying Zelda character
-The entire charm and point of the Zelda universe.
-Link's place as the character with least personallity.

@OtakuNeni You could always use that bird-thing symbol on Link's shield. I believe she put that on one of her dresses.
That being said, let me know when you get said art online! I'd love to see. XD
ZeldaQueen64 1 year ago

XD Oh, that's wonderful! Thank you "soo" much!

OtakuNeni 1 year ago
@OtakuNeni You read it? ^_^ Thanks!

OtakuNeni 1 year ago
@ZeldaQueen64 Oh, by the way, I liked you articulated that you don't hate Toon Link. It's always nice to see someone who doesn't downgrade TWW, MC, PH and ST just because of their grafics. Personally, I think of all Zelda games as awesome in their own way. You know I am writting a fanfic right now where the epochs and timelines of the games mix due to... long story. I am mainly trying to give all the games a chance to shine in this fic... even though OoT, TWW and TP get the most attention.
OtakuNeni 1 year ago
@OtakuNeni Yeah, I do prefer OOT/MM graphics the most (I know they're not as detailed as TP, but that sort of adds to it ^^; ) but the Toon Link games are still fun. I especially loved Spirit Tracks!

@TheDramaticReadings Thanks for giving me this maginificent idea. I shall draw the most brain-eating fanfiction-fanart mankind has ever seen! :-D

Silverlite? I think that's a demon killing sword from Runescape.
Or it's a new precious metal, with all the great taste of silver without the calories.
lamnaa 1 year ago
@lamnaa Lol runescape, yeah its a sword. Sadly I still play that game. I'm such a dork.

(Yay! Fantasia ;P)
Brian Blessed and clips from Flash Gordon. I think I'm in comedy heaven.
I didn't think Jenna could be any more of a Mary sue, I was wrong...

Oh my god, I spelt half of my previous message wrong. X-x Now it has happened: The story has effectively decreased my IQ! T-T

Major plot hole: they say there'd be prosperity if a silverlite "returned" to Hyrule, but she hasn't "returned," she's been there the entire time!

NO. NO! LINK is the HERO OF TIME. LINK. Silverlite?! Now she's taking from Skies of Arcadia!
I think my brain exploded with that last bit.
