I personally think that Callas was the hardest worker of them all. She was interested in what she was singing not in her own voice. At a certain age, she forgot what was evidence for her in her youth (her technique). But she would never forget what music meant. Nor will we... thanks to her.

Maria Callas, in my opinion, is simply Incomparable. I don't think it's possible to be touched to such an extent by any other soprano, past or present. Might as well throw in the future, too. There'll never be another like her. She is really in another league.
The moment she starts to sing in this performance, the sound is so utterly, arrestingly beautiful it stops you in your tracks
You will never ever hear a better version. The last six notes are the essence of Callas and i am only glad that I have had the chance to listen to this
I listen to every La Wally performance I can get my hands on, and am starting to believe that this supurb performance could very well be the pinnacle.
I see several people saying " listen to this one, listen to that one, she is better than Callas ". So, I listen to the others, and click off before they're even done....nothing. TO ME, there is CALLAS, and only CALLAS.
Everytime when I'm listining to her wonderful voice, I'm becoming so sad about the fact that I'll never get the change to see live on stage. She's gone already for so long, but the memory of her will never die!! La Divina!!!!!!
