To correct myself I found out that there is a free boat ramp in Newaygo and I think from google Earth that is just a bit west of the big bridge but I can't find anything that gives more clarity to that though.
Yeah I can't wait. I found your video after we made the plans and it only made me more excited. None of the three of us have ever done a kayaking trip before. Were camping Friday night at Paris park, and Saturday night at Brower Park and I expect to be on the river for about 8 hours each day. Did you get off the river at the canoe/kayaking place in Newaygo just after you go under the big bridge? and if so did you get any permission to do so? Thanks a lot for the help.
It was 15 hours almost straight paddling. The river slows way down after rogers dam. Then it speeds back up after croughton. I would stick to the left side of rogers dam and hardy dam. I went on the left side at croughton but i think it would be easier to go to the right side. I stopped at the croughton gas station to get some food. You should have a good time.
I'm doing Paris to Newaygo in two weeks with two camping nights. The 15 hours it took you was that going at a fast pace or with messing around? Also any recommendations for which side of the different dams are the best to carry kayaks around?
Nice video. Good song. Wish I was in Michigan again.
