@Gamsterjeff600 When you watch any show, no matter what angle is being shown, the characters are always surrounded by 3 "Walls" 1 behind them, to the left of them, and to the right of them, but the one in front of them is the wall We use to watch the episodes. That wall is the 4th wall. When a character in a tv show acknowledges that their in a tv show, that's what's known as breaking the 4th wall. Like how at 2:23 eddy asks if they won an Emmy for a previous episode they were in. Makes sense?

Breaking the 4th wall is likely the best typre of cartoon humor in animation history. Cartoon Network's live action shows can't do this, its out of place. And their modern cartoons except Regular Show and Adventure Time can't, the other ones like SMFA anyways. Their too busy at HQ laughing their retard heads off drawing a moster all made out of butts.

The fourth isn't meant to be broken because the show/movie loses realism. But it happens from time to time. In this show, it's clever. The producers know its not meant to be taken seriously because its just an over the top, goofy show. In other shows that try to seem "real" it just destroys the atmosphere because it's like telling the viewers not to take them seriously.
