  • the story is not altogether true. danny was not there in germany, he may have been spiked in new orleans though. syd was spiked also by so called friends. many in the music business fell victim. to create and perform live is probably enormously difficult for some. peter is ok now. danny is in my prayers every day, and thousands more who love him pray for him , but i'm hoping millions of prayers will find danny and comfort him . millions .

  • On guitar Clapton was technique, Green was feeling. Further, Peter Green had such a beautiful voice and was a great composer. It´s really sad what happened to him.

However, he remains my favorite. I never stopped enjoying his Greeny, The Supernatural, Man of the World and so on.

  • "i took more than i intended to..."

  • Owsley's shit it got Syd and almost got Jimi @ Winterland. It's not that it was bad shit...it was really good shit just don't try too much at once.......

  • It was that night in Germany. The LSD. I think Danny was there too. We need to more about that story.

  • Window pane

  • where are thet now 2011??

  • where the rest of it????

  • He went to Germany. He tripped non stop. He had to relearn guitar from step 1. He was what he was, great. He is what he is, a shame. What a shame. If he sold his soul to the devil to play the way he played, it was worth it. Some stars are not meant to shine forever.

  • Since this programme was made Peter Green made it BACK! Jeremy Spencer is still a major blues figure. He never disappeared...he just left Fleetwood, joined a cult religion but remained true to himself as a musician. Check him out on youtube.

  • 1970's schizophrenia paradime.

  • 1970's schizophrenia paradime

  • Hahaha what the heck is that staring at the camera from Greens window..?

  • Acid will and did kill personalities ...I know....God saved and healed me ...no question about it...

  • The snarky BASTARDS who expoited Peter Green in 1988/1990 should be shot at dawn by an Israeli firing squad. It's perfect.

  • fantastic!!!

  • jeremy spencer is playing - see youtube

  • peter green is playing.

    on youtube .com/watch?v=0CMB2A8BZIk&feature=related

  • what song do they play at the beggining?

  • @MorganKai It's called 'Oh well'

  • Peter Green is recovering and has been touring as Peter Green and Friends..saw him recently and there are still flashes of his old brilliance there.

  • Peter is recovering and touring ..saw him recently and he showed flashes of his old brilliance

  • Man what a shame, any 1 could get addicted to drugs if you're in a vonerable state of mine. Not cut his nails not picked a guitar up in ages that saddens me for a extreme talent too go to waste due to living the r&r life style taking acid. I go off ma rocker if i can't play my guitar everyday, not making comparisions but the man needs help and i hope a gifted person like peter gets it. I tried all the drugs but they are nothing compared to what was kicking about in the 60s heavy stuff, fragile

  • I cant believe they kept the same name after peter green left! its ridiculous! I mean i cant just say i like fleetwood mac.I have to say fleetwood mac the early years!so annoying i agree the girls ruined the band!

  • Yeah this is old info he put out Peter Green's "The Robert Johnson Songbook" album released in 1998. And several youtubes of more recent music, Green Manalishi from PG splinter group. And an Amsterdam concert in 2009.

  • OOHHHH WELLLLLLLL check out the Jim McCarty cover

  • I recently started listening to Peter Green, Mike Bloomfield & Rory Gallagher who are the greatest guitatist I'd never heard of until youtube. These guys are great and their music will forever live on. What a tragedy this story is but how fortunate we are for his music.

  • lots of things have changed since this doc. green has been musically active and well for fifteen years or so, spencer is playing and touring again...sadly, danny is still missing in action.

  • damn girls ruined this band...

  • Strange Jeremy Spencer isn't playing the guitar as well ...

  • It appears he didn't lose his appetite.

  • @duncanstpt Too many jewish bagels I suppose

  • This is very sad

    He's better than Clapton...

  • Hey flamingcrystal,

Is the documentary named "FM at 21"? I can't find such thing googling! Could you give us more information about the movie?

    Cheers...

  • @futile1981 This is the Fleetwood Mac story, shown on the BBC

  • Something broke his heart. Something deep within that must have made him unable to trust anyone. The acid opened the doorway to the horror and he couldn't get through it. He's beautiful anyway and I hope he rocks out hard in his own space. I met Jeremy at a Greatful Dead show in the 80's. Didn't believe his story until I saw the short clip of him in this video. It was him. I'm sure now. Hope he's okay. He was very sweet and kind to me and my friends.

  • Fallen Angel.

  • Even people in cali messed up the tabs , i know altamont had some bad stuff. Of course theres nothing worse than a bunch of hells angels on meth. I trust the shrooms. Hold on , theres some guys in leather jackets at my front door......

  • This video was done a long time ago, green is back playing music now and is alot better.

  • So sad.

Think of all the great music we missed out on with Peter and Danny being tabbed with bad acid.

  • What you think theres actually good acid . . . . . . . .

  • No. I was referring to the fact it was not chemically correct and damaged Peter's and Danny's brains.

  • no way...thats terrifying.

  • YES. there is... ive had it!

  • I know... I only did acid about 10 times but thank God it was good stuff, and anyroad I only did one hit at a time. I know people who did 10 hits at a time but honestly, I don't know whatever happened to them.

  • @MorroccoM13 It's so sad that the bitch Yoko had to fuck with John's head before he died. Think of all the great music we missed out on if John actually started writing with Paul again.

But yeah, I know what you mean.

  • @jackshit54942>>> I hear you there and totally agree.

  • @MorroccoM13 what exactly classifies "bad acid" ? far as i know he was on a 3 day acid trip and that it had very spiritual effects on him

  • @MorroccoM13

There is no such thing as bad acid >,>

    but ok.

  • It is called "Oh Well". Great Fleetwoood Mac classic

  • whats the name of the song at the beginning of the track

  • Oh Well, is the name of the song

  • tahh

  • OH WELL... ;)

  • the green manilishi???

  • What exactly did this 'German group of people' do? What did they spike Peter and Danny with? what was the immediate reaction (physically)/symptoms to this?

  • I spoke to Peter about that years ago. He told me that he thought they looked "Beautiful. BETTER than a woman's actually!" I suspect their extreme length had alot more to do with the fact that Peter's nails-ALL his nails-are very thick and hard to cut! He probably couldn't be bothered to trim them. When he began his recovery, his nails were finally cut by Mitch Reynolds (the ex wife of the band's original manager and Peter's friend) then later by Nigel Watson's wife, as I recall.

  • Peter Green plays to this day and, sounds great. His mind was blown by a German group of people, who spiked Danny Kirwan on the same night. Danny now lives in Holand with very little recollection of being an Artist. The other two (as we all know) Mick Fleetwood and John Mcvee sold out to Pop Music. Spencer looks OK to me, as he's on the recent,(see the whole 12 episodes) Peter Green story. It's on You Tube.

  • Is Danny living in Holland now?

    When did he leave London?

If that is true then I'm VERY happy for Danny as that men's shelter he was living at near Covent Garden was very depressing. The last time Danny spoke at length about his days with the band he was quite lucid and his memory was good(this was when he was interviewed for the Green bio by Celmins). I'm so sorry to hear his memories are fading! :(

  • That's a good interview, I just looked it up by googling danny kirwan celmins. Its a shame he can't kick his alcohol problem as I think Peter is an example that its never too late to pull yourself out of the mire.

  • bit of a buggar

  • all aboard the man train with mikey harris

  • never give up your axe. women come and go hell even families but never let the axe go. never.

  • BlueRoseRocketBand2,

I couldn't have said it better!

  • This clip is from 1988 - Peter is doing a LOT better now, as some other posters noted. Playing live and keeping things (mostly) together.

Greeny's real "problem" is schizophrenia. Yes, it was exacerbated by taking LSD - arguably even made it worse - but even if he'd never done any....he'd still have had to deal with that.

  • Sorry bird444trod916, I should have said, I never lost the tapes I had to give them back to Peter's brother. Perhaps he still has them (if he's still alive, this was 30 odd years ago). Or maybe he gave them back to Peter.

There must have been 4/5 hours of playing time on the tapes. As you rightly say they were / are a piece of rock history.

Perhaps one day they will resurface, I hope so. Maybe you could start a campaign to find the lost tapes LOL.

Thanks for your interest & reply. Peace :

  • I second you finding those tapes... That's treasure waiting to be found

  • As I recall that was Peter's brother Michael, not Len, correct? Michael died not long ago, so in all likelihood his son Joe has those precious tapes now.

  • Hi Babyhowdy233,

I can't recall his name, I only briefly met him once, but he lived on Canvey Island if that helps. Evidently he was a bit of a "likable" rogue.

At that time my friend had a small boat and wanted an outboard motor for it. He mentioned it to Peters brother, who turned up a few days later and sold him one.

It turned out that he had gone into the estuary in the middle of the night, and pinched it off one of the boats that were moored out there.

  • Man, that vid started off sweet, but then...

    That last frame!

  • About the time Peter Green went off the rails, his brother moved in next door to a friend of mine. He had a lot Peters gear in his house, gold records on his walls etc.

When my friend told him I was a great fan of Fleetwood Mac, He said I could borrow Peters tape recorder and tapes that he had.

Some were studio tapes, others were tapes of live performances. One tape even had the band writing / rehearsing Man Of The World.

I often wonder what happened to them, they would make a great album.

  • This is not the shape he is in now. He plays again with friends, owns a guitar again and played with this band called Splintergroup. What he is doing now I don't know but he is in much better condition than this video's shows.

  • Peter actually owns ALOT of guitars now! He has been seriously collecting them for some time now. The walls were covered in them at the home he was renting when I last saw him in 2002.

  • lsd is the only drug i can honestly say i will NEVER take again

  • yea once was enough for me. fuck that shit

  • Jeremy on maracas! God damn the bugger.

  • Does anyone know what Peter Green is doing these days?

  • Look at You Tube and to the Splintergroup.

  • Peter continues to tour, and in fact he is touring right now as we speak. He does alot of performing in Scandinavia in particular because the OLD FM have maintained a strong fan base there.

Before his brother died, Peter and him were seriously planning to do another album together. Btw, Peter has lost ALOT of weight since this was filmed and looks great now!

  • FANTASTICCCCCCCCCCC

  • flaming crystal, please put more of these videos on. THEY ARE GREAT!

  • so sad. such a long way to fall. greatest british blues guitarist to mentally ill and living as a recluse. i think he is picked him self up a bit now though. :-)

  • He is fine now. Playing local gigs. Forget the AOR Mac this is the stuff. Peter is a good lesson in too much L.S.D. twice a year only!

  • lol twice a year only

  • he has sort of come back.

  • Kids: don't do drugs. At least not acid, anyway. Damn.

  • Everything about this video is unsettling.

  • fuckin lame man

fleetwood was so much cooler in the early days

  • i cant think of anything other than

    oh. my. god.

look at his fingernails...its scary and sad man...damn

  • wild

  • gran video,escelente.gracias flamingcrystal
