  • Can't put a plow on the newer f150's due to the electric powersteering. I don't know about you but i wouldn't want to replace that.

  • No a standard 150 would not hold this V plow up correctly . I have HD springs under the front end . Thats about $300 upgrade for the springs installed . You can just add Timbrens but then you are just riding on a collapsed suspension and directly on the rubbers............. that is not cool either.

  • So can you get by with a standard 1/2 ton f 150? Or do you have to beef up the front end. I plow with a 95 Tacoma now and thinking of going bigger.

  • I agree,I have a half ton with a 8'6" plow and it handles it just fine.

  • hello what brand is the plow and weight of the plow i want went to meyers plow shop they said then can only put drive pro plow i want have a bigger and batter plow. the drive plow.

  • "think you need a 3/4 truck to plow ur driveway? check that shit out".....lol....yessah!

  • Half tons have been holding them up fine for the last 35 years that I know of; and this plow your watching and pushing this snow; weighes 835 lbs ???? It holds it just fine.

  • you dont need it to plow a driveway, you dont need it for horsepower, you need it because it can support the weight of a bigger plow

  • @34celticpride

    Well you didnt do your homework.............................. the truck has an 8200GVW and has NO PROBLEM holding up a 830 lb plow................ none whatsoever. It handles it GREAT. It has the springs and the shocks to handle the plow . Now I am also aware that a standard duty half ton would NOT be able to handle it

  • I love the part when you say "check that shit out."

  • @11charlesw ;

    Well remember that the plowlites are 55" off the ground [4' 7"] so besides pushing that big bank of snow the truck is cutting out about a foot of that bank on the left and rolling that out in front of that plow as well . That is HEAVY !!! It does show folks that have no idea just how much a 150 will push!

  • Exactly, you don't need a 3/4 ton to plow and haul like alot of people think. mercer_me
