People put the song in the background because it's a YouTube cover..... It's for entertainment. Therefore the song in the background serves purpose as people ALWAYS complain when they don't have the background song to amuse them as a bonus.

the pick is used to gain bonus tone and i think a but less string buzzing, pick actualy gives more tone and many players use the pick just to get smth bonus out of the sound

Using a pick because it gives a slightly differant tone to the bass. Using your fingers gives it a more percussive sound where a pick gives it a more snappy sound... It really depends on what the artist is either comfortable with or what tone the song needs.
