How sad this is. People are not comming to hear the Word, they're comming for a show.

ahh... but it doesn't matter "why" they come to church... the fact is, they had fun while learning about Jesus.

Jesus didn't stick to just one style of delivering the Gospel. He wasn't stuck on the same approach. Why should we be any different.

It's so easy to point fingers and criticize. But until you sit in on the Tuesday morning staff meeting and hear how many salvations there were over the weekend, we shouldn't go around church-bashing.

How many of those "salvations" will be around in 12 months, 6 months, next week?. Thanks, but ive been to church "disney" and came out of it. If someone wont come to Christ after hearing the word preached, being part of a show of light and sound collective emotion will only net you empty professions. Besides, i am not "church bashing" since Granger is ichabod. Check out the website "A little leaven" in the museum of idolotry section, Granger is featured there.

In every single church in America, there are people who walk in the doors on Sunday, get saved, God changes their lives, but then they walk out the doors and life gets too tough and they turn away.

It happens EVERY WEEK IN EVERY CHURCH. In small bible churches, in word-of-faith churches, heck, even at Bible College.

"Christians" have a nasty habit of bad-mouthing the church down the road because they do things differently.

You are exactly who Jesus is praying for in John 17:22

I am not disagreeing with you here, but I would like to give you some perspective.

I went to Granger because I was drawn in by the awesome music, light show,you name it. I was not interested in hearing the Gospel.

However, after the hype was over, I met volunteers/staff members who LIVED the gospel of God out in front of me and challenged me.

It's been four years now.I love Jesus more than ever and I am involved in youth ministry. The true Gospel is not in the presentation, it's in the people.

This was the easter service? Where's the preaching of Jesus, you know the one who died on a cross for our transgressions (sin) against Him. The one who took upon Himself the Wrath of ALmighty God, instead of us dealing with it. I like to know where's the preaching of the cross only? If we Love people we will warn them of judgment day coming. Not play some silly game in church. This is serious business here, people are dying and we have the cure. Please can we focus on Jesus.

I hope you don't think this is all the service was. This is just an effective tool that attracts people who otherwise wouldn't be willing or want to go to church. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

I can understand they want people to come to the building and meet the church. And want to see people saved. By why use this stuff to do it? I don't understand, why not talk to talk and He talks to them? Why can't they just preach the gospel, like explain sin, judgment day, and repentance and faith. According to James 3 the Lord holds pastors in a stricter judgment. They are suppose to be teaching His word. Let them have godly sorrow that leads to repentance that leads to salvation. 1 Corinth 7.

I ask you this, are you saying that the pastors at GCC are not teaching His word? They use a different approach. The Baptists use a different approach than the Presbyterians, who are also different than the Assembly of God churches. But is Gods word not being presented? It may not be "your thing", but God uses people to deliver His message in different ways to reach different people. If you don't like the methods used, then by all means don't go there.

What's up with your harsh word? What did I say, except ask a question. Sorry I just don't seem to understand why these games at all in the worship service. I can see having fun but why does it have to be in here? Anyways just asking, maybe you can explain this. I just think that Jesus should be the center, that is Christ crucified and Him rising and the forgiveness of sins.

wel unfortunatly some people believe church is about bringing people togather and worshiping. not everyone has a system like yours. they worship, then bring the people togather in game.

I guess it is OK, as long as Jesus Christ is the center of the worship. Because He should be. Since He is the creator God of you and me and this whole planet we live in. So I guess it is OK as long as there is sill the worship of the Lord Himself, cause only He is worthy. So peace to you.

Shoots, i used to agree with you 100%... until my sister told me she would never go to church cause it's boring, she's "been preached at" since we were kids, and Christians never have any fun. wwjd? he surely wouldn't condemn her. he would evaluate her heart and try another approach.

that's all this is... a different approach to the same gospel.

who is our enemy? it's not the church/pastor that presents the gospel from a different perspective than yours.

I had my flip video camera with me Sunday and couldn't resist. It was an awesome service. Plus the pastor said let's go viral for JC. I really did it for my daughter in CA who loves GCC. I take that as a compliment though if you thought the church did it. Their stuff is awesome!!
