  • what type of choper you play there? I use to play AIX mod and it looks like it's not in it

  • if u cant use mouse emulation to shoot with a gun its useless to me. devs will never add mass support for this

  • FINALLY SOMEONE MADE A HEADTRACKING DEVICE!

  • Crysis 2 like seriously needs Headtracking capability.

    not even joking.

I play this game maxed out, in 3D, with a Buttkicker Gamer, and smoking a joint, lol

I can't even imagine how sick it would be with headtracking.

and I also just need 2 more monitors in 3D :-)

  • But does this include the aim camera? Is it an individual way to turn the camera without moving the target?

  • I bet that when you're NOT flying, you don't use head movements to aim and shoot! haha!

  • 3:00 What I LIKE the most is that you don't loose the controls like I do, when looking around! I can't take off while looking around! I have to stop looking around to take off! Track-IR rocks!

  • @TzeffNL Well, you loose controls but not for throttle. Pitch, roll and yaw are still uncontrollable when looking around. :)

  • @RadiatorNinjaen Oh...:-(

  • Nice control, by the way!

  • its too bad in bf2 that flight controls are disabled in freelook mode

    go Arma man

  • @TMODMP

    THIS!!!

true it sucks but the track IR does come in handy for the slower pace of project reality or forgotten hope 2 for quick situational awareness checks. I'm going though the process of setting it up right now and the disabled flight controls are a real bitch but if you just do quick looks to check on enemy locations it's definitely a plus for anyone who flies with a joystick, for keyboard pilots not so much.

  • @fern420 flying helis with a joystick in BF2 and PR is a bitch itself... i just cant find the rite sensitivity

  • @TMODMP Dude, use the mouse in helis, its much more responsive.

  • Holy shit. I need this to play Project Reality mod for BF2 as well. Holy shit.

  • You should add some itheater hmd.head mounted display and really feel the diference.

I use my HMD to fly a real scale plane using a gyro for head tracking .search FPV you will see what i mean.

  • Does the joystick still take care of flight control even with "ctrl pressed"? Because of course, if you're using the mouse to fly the chopper, control becomes disabled to control the FOV in the game. Love to try this out, I need to get me a TrackIR myself, as well as the fancy new Logitech G940 flight system ;)

  • Wow, I can't believe this video got 50K+ hits. It was actually just made to show my friends how BF2 could be with a TrackIR, if the game developers would bother to implement it correctly so you could also control the vehicle while looking around.

And to all the people calling this fake... please, do yourself a favor and google "mouse emulation". What the TrackIR does here is to automatically hold down Ctrl and then send mouse signals to the game, according to my head movement. That's the point.

  • @RadiatorNinjaen

    hey i got a question

cant you just normally look around like this by holding the shift key or something? like you were able to on battlefield vietnam

isnt there a "toggle mouse look" option?

  • @RadiatorNinjaen

Any chance you can direct me to the TrackIR mouse emulation Software? I can't seem to find it. Does it come in the download for the main software?

  • @ryanko90

Yes, I've recently installed the TrackIR v5 software. With this I just go through Start > All Programs > TrackIR v5 > Mouse Emulation. :)

  • @RadiatorNinjaen

Found it thanks, did not realize it was part of the main installation.

  • @RadiatorNinjaen That answers my question I was about to post! I've thumb it up! You should put this info in the video's "details".

  • lol fake... nice try though. I had to watch for a bit just to get all the facts.

  • @Clarkstonie

dude, this is not fake. all you have to do is google trackIR. I just bought one. They have been around for a while.

  • @dialn911 I guess it was unfair of me to say it was fake. It doesn't look like you can control the helo while you're looking around right?

  • Agreed, useless on BF2, Get IL2 for proper air combat.

  • its kinda useless rly for jets u need to use fly by and for cars just look behind it and choppers pres c to get full view and allways show the gunner enemys but still kina good movie

  • Alright... now let's see you control the aircraft while looking around. Otherwise I'm not impressed

  • It is quite a pity to buy a trackIR for playing battlefield. But for genuine flight simulators, it is a deliverance, really.

  • ricochetVendetta you are right

  • you can already do that without track ir, just hold ctrl

  • so how do you move at the same time?

trackir is for looking while moving: it is an extra axis, not just an axis assignment

  • but you will need to take the hand of the controls may well explode

  • Hey mate i have the trackir but not batelfeild 2 yet, imm going ton get it ... so u just use the mouse controller program that comes with the trackir 4 pro and it should work...

  • I wonder if there is a way to enable mouse look while manouvreing - without that the trackiR/VR920 or whatever u use will be pointless - as said u may as well use a mouse. In BF2 - using the head tracking sys on mouse look will make TV usage ( solo in helo or bomber ) absolutely terrible.

I really had hoped to see better support for the trackiR here - OH well - thanks EA lol

  • eer how exactly this works,i mean if im going to look left do i have to turn my head full left, then if it is then how can i see my monitor, does dat i mean i have to move my eyeballs to see?

  • that is a bit silly but its asked a lot. i recommend you to see TrackIR Explained.

    Regards

  • Of course you don't have to move your eyeballs. When you turn your head the monitor moves with you so it's always in front of you.

LOL of course you have to move your eyes.

  • Wow everyone asks this. okay speech time. TrackIR's system makes it so that you can amplify movements. For each degree of freedom eg. Pitch, roll, yaw, x axis, y, and z; you can customize how much you want those movements to be amplified in the game

  • I'd really like to believe that this is true, but...

Why is it that whenever you are "looking around", you never make any movement with the vehicle that involves a mouse? When you are looking around I never see you bank left/right/forward/backward with the helicopter, same goes with the plane. If you had trackIR, you'd be able to perform these movements even when looking around.

  • No it´s the game. it locks movement controls when you´re looking around.

  • He is using TrackIR mouse emulation.

The only vehicles where he can look around while controlling them are the land vehicles. You can assign a joystick to controls while using mouse to look around.

  • ... then afterwards buy a TrackIR and use your head instead of your mouse - as explained in the video. Seriously, this would be the worst joke ever if it was fake. :)

  • but using ctrl plus moving your head means you lose the flight controls

  • he has no flight controls in this video while he's moving his head

  • You're both morons... obviously blind.

  • That is exactly what's happening in this video as well. TrackIR is just controlling the mouse imputs here, you still need to press and hold the Mouse look key. If you're using mouse to fly you can also fly using TrackIR.

  • you sir.. are an idiot..

Cool video.. just got mine today :D

  • @Annerstedt84 ♥ how retarded you are. Clearly not understanding the point of this isn't about looking around in BF2, its about demonstrating how the TrackIR 4 can be used.

  • @Annerstedt84 ok idiot ... fly a plane with the mouse and while flying USE CTRL +MOUSE to look around ... fucking noob... i'll pwn you any day in BF2 ...

  • The problem with BF is that you lose the ability to control the vehicle if you select the freelook. I hope they add full TrackIR support in BF3.

  • Hello. I'm using freetrack very well with many games (watch my videos for info). But for battlefield2....I'm going to use a joystick for helicopter (last year i played with mouse+keyboard)...but how can u emulate mouse only in helicopter? I mean, if I activate mouse emulation, then how will I aim while on foot (aiming with weapon)?

  • i did this with a webcam+hat+15usd lol it works pretty cool i use it for racing games but i will so try it on bf

  • they need to make this for the 360 and ps3.

it will make fps even better

  • The way console gaming is expanding versus PC, its probably only a matter of time... it'd make good sense, but it would also mean dedicated games being made, cosi dont think its possible to mod existing console titles into working with this sort of thing

  • fps can never be as good on console, mouse + keyboard will always be better than joypad. yes i know you can get mice for consoles now but it simply isnt the same, games are simplified for consoles and will never be as realistic

  • Death to consoles!! Long live the PC! :-)

  • YES!!!!!

  • DAS RIGHT!! :D

  • i wish they had that for the xbox360..this thing would literally put e in the game...

  • wouldnt it be hard to play while your face is looking in the wrong direction? cause if you move your head to the left to look at the left side, you wouldnt be able to see it cause ur face is facing a different way instead of the screen.

  • Yes, but fortunately the motion of your head is amplified. Meaning that you can set it up such that if you turn your head 30 degrees to the right, the head will turn 90 degrees in the game. So no worries. :)

  • It's not a new concept...I used to sell cameras for the same concept on ebay 2 years ago. Still good to see it in action though.

  • am i nut or that is the same map that in BF 1942?

  • Yes, Wake Island. They made an official version for BF2 too. :)

  • ^-^ how do you get a track IR? and i thought about getting this game. i hope i can play it on my pc =) pentium 4 2.0ghz 1.24gb of ram, Radeon HD 2600 XT 512mb ddr3 ^^

  • your processor is a lil slow, but it'll run fairly good on medium gfx

  • Look, when i first got BF2 back in 2005, i had a P4 (faster than yours), and it was barely playable on 64 player servers, so i would say upgrade to a Core2duo. Your video card is just fine for BF2.

  • if ur in a heli u just hold down "ctrl" and move the mouse

  • Why not just strap a wii remote on your head :P

  • what is tracksi4?

  • You move your head and in game it simulates it using IR sensors meaning you don't have to use keys or a hatch switch to look around. its preety cool piece of kit but damn expensive. I would say this is not good game to demonstrate it if you look at LOCK ON: Black Shark you can lean around the cockpit and turn in all directions.

  • As stated at the end of the video:

Map pause in trackIR and Mouse Look in BF2 to the same button on your stick and start mouse emulation.

    Not mentioned in video:

In the TrackIR profile, make sure trackIR is PAUSED and then untick "Toggle" for the pause Key else you will have to hit the button twice to pause / unpause TIR.

Then, when in cockpit, hold the button to look around. You cannot control the aircraft while you look though, so it is a bit pointless.

  • how u get bf2 to work with trackir4 please reply need help

  • Space bar shoots aswell mahagamer

  • Any key/button/axis will do anything you assign it to do

    options->controls->air

  • nice, although you gain an EXTREMELY HUGE advantage, especially in dogfight.

  • i cant connect to a online server because Punkbuster keeps kicking me, saying i have insufficient o/p or something

  • think you mean O/S

Operating system, i have the same problem, cant run bf2 on vista i think, and i had'nt found any patch yet.

  • That should be an easy fix, right click on your icon on the desktop and select Properties. There should be an option in compatabilty to run as administrator. Select that and WinXP SP2 as mode. That should allow you to keep playing instead of getting kicked by pb.

  • how do you shoot?? if there is no mouse button to click?

  • there is pretty much always a trigger on the joystick. duh.

  • nice, never knew u can use it for BF2. now u hace some advantages...

  • same thing happens when u press ctrl

  • I think you dont know what is Trackir H20Ghost...lol

  • wow how do you get one of those things?

  • totally useless since you cant use controls while looking around. Its one or the other just like having to press a Ctrl to use mouselook.

    Not their fault, but EA's

  • is it really TrackIR? During you fly airplane you don't use TrackIR. I think you don't use TrackIR at all!!!!!

    NICE HaHaHa

  • I think you're retarded.

  • What is wrong in it. But you are blind. "You are right, I did not read it carefully"

  • Hi! Nice. I could not find any information on their website that TrackIR support also BF2. Is there any problem to plug it?

  • No official support yet... to use it, read the text in the end of the video. :)

  • HA HA HA

You are right, I did not read it carefully

  • nice

  • Thatd be awesome if there was full trackir support. Imagine the infrantry battles! They should implement it in the Project Reality Mod.

  • thanks for share

  • Nice Video, thanks for posting!
