  • The Doctor sounds like John Cleese!

  • I said daleks not smurfs

  • The Daleks scare people in England, but in Germany this is a comedy show! XD

  • I wonder if there was a conspiracy by the BBC to do this to distract the Germans from realizing Daleks are CLEARLY an alien version of Nazis?

    EXTERMINEREN voice over!!! Schnell! Schnellllllllllllllllllllll!

  • @KirksMerkin More than likely!

  • LOL was Alvin stuck inside the Dalek?!

  • LOL was Alvin stuck inside the Dalek?! and weird that when i use Google Translate Exterminate is Ausrotten.

  • @CatCatHasAChannel Yes but Ausrotten is the precise term the Nazis used to get rid of the jews and we are very sensible on anything that sounds like something the nazis used. Even though the Daleks ARE space nazis.

  • EXTERMINEREN!

  • BOOOOM HEADSHOT!!!

  • That is how the Daleks sounded in Germany...?

    England: "AAAAUUH!" -Behind sofas-

Germany: "Was ist diese Scheiße?!"(What is this shit?!)

  • Why is the voice so high pitched? It sort of reduces the terror factor a tiny bit. It's still a Dalek, but now I almost want to laugh at it.

  • is that william hartnel ? if it is how come the clip is in colour?

  • @robssk855 This clip is from "The Five Doctors", from 1983. IIRC, Hartnell died in 1976, so the BBC hired Richard Hurndall to play the First doctor in this story :)

  • 00:43-00:50 look how wiggly that daleks look!

  • @KingLofiOne I agree. They did at least as bad a job dubbing the voice of the first doctor as they did with the dalek. Not only does he sound nothing like William Hartnel (the actor they hired to replace him in this, "The Five Doctors,' did an excellent job of that), but he sounds like a rather young man.

    Good observation.

  • @cpuwrite That is because the dubbing team thought it wise to have the Doctor dubbed by the same guy (Michael Schwarzmaier, Father of Tim Schwarzmaier, the german voice of Harry Potter in films 1 and 2) in every incarnation, to show that he remains the same person. Neat idea, but then they should have hired somebody with a talent for speech imitation.

  • @KingLofiOne Was, Dr. Who kam auf Vox?? Verdammt...:D

  • @NFreund Jo, 1995.

  • In a way... that makes them so much more creepy.

  • Exterminieren! Halt! Sonst werden wir Sie exterminieren! Sie sind jetzt ein Gefangener der Daleks!

  • See, this is why they lost the war.

  • this is so retarded ya vol dum cunt ya vol

  • LOOOOL i laughed SO hard...i'm writing this with tears in my eyes...

I hate German translations, it just don't fit...and the dalek sounds just pathetic...

  • @NFreund Hey! A fellow bilingual! Awesome!

  • @cpuwrite I'm going to be polit and write in your mother language (if it's correct that your'e from the US :D) xD

Well, i have heard from Docotor Who a while ago, but i was a star trek fan for a very long time. Since JJ Abrams messed up Star Trek, i looked into some other Sci-Fi series. Since we have Pay-TV i saw a German version of Chris Ecclestones doc and liked it very much. Stupidly, the German Sci-Fi Channel showed only the nineth Doc, so i started to watch it on the net ;)

  • @cpuwrite Long writing short: Since 2009 :D

  • @NFreund Nur ein Kind. :P :p :P

"People who live in glass houses shouldn't shoot with rayguns"

Lol, what were they thinking when they were dubbing htis...

  • at least this is better than the dalek voices from the 1996 movie

  • lol it sounds like a 3 year old

    "ZUUU BOOOODEN!"

  • @SuperScotty97 That's not entirely true, they are heard but not seen at the start of the film.

  • This is really funny in German. I can understand most of it, but not the dalek. It's so high pitched that it's almost impossible to understand.

  • @DoctorWhoIV He's probably saying, "EXTERMINATE!".

  • @Velocity9s He's saying "Vernichte!" that's the imperative of "DESTROY!"

  • what episode is this?(english version)

  • sounds like funny shit

  • Sounds more like a chipmunks Dalek!

  • Aww, cute little Dalek....

  • Having to translate old Dr Who episodes would be fun.

  • What the FUCK?

  • ROFL COPTER!

  • errr ehhhh mmmm im speakless

  • awwww

  • HORNY CAT!

  • Lol it sounds like he's a elephant or mr blobby

  • @DavidCavana Vernichten

  • paha wtf

  • it sounds like it's saying " E-le-phant!" XD

  • it sounds like a baby

  • Lol sounds like "Herr Hitler"

  • my cat's getting horny

  • VERNICHTE! VERNICHTE!

  • I Think the German Dub was for the time when the Series was transmitted, very ok, because it was shown on a Very small Tv Station back in the Day in the 90s, and They had no technical Stuff to make it more Sound like the UK Version, The Problem was that there was not much Material for Dubbingstuff, so the needed to Improvise a lot of things.

  • Terrifying special effects, but not as scary as the Singing Ringing Tree.

  • Note for translation sound engineers,

The distinctive Dalek voice-effect is supposed made with a *Ring Modulator*

    not by breathing fucking HELIUM!!!

  • Wich fucking idiot says, Nazi etc!!!

    It is GERMAN you idiots!

So the original Voice sounds like a towl in the mouth...

You say it is Nazi Voice?

I SAY THE ORIGINAL IS KKK DOCTER OR INDIAN KILLER VOICE.

    AND NOW. SHUT UP

  • WTF A gay german Dalek !?!?!!?!?

  • baby dalek

  • I agree with many of you on here the voice is crazy. I think the Dalek mutant was good for it's time though and quite scary.

  • tht really its voice?

  • haha the doctor sounds like he says "my neesh nipple" at 0:55

  • WOW. :I

  • Wtf?

    Dalek children? Dalek on helium?

    Ftw?

  • The Daleks have been chipmunkized!

  • @LtGripweed OH MFG! THEY COULD KILL ME JUST BY TALKING LIKE THAT!

  • nazi dalek

  • Sounds like a smurf. Richard Hurndall isn't far off being Father Abraham. Where's that beard Richard..

  • wtf?? o.O

  • omg :D

  • Older Susan is not fooling anyone LOL

  • daleks on helium loool

  • sounds like the daleks from the tv movie

  • @AufPet5678

finally a decent explanation for why the TV movie daleks sounded wrong... they were German Daleks!

  • Producer 1: Alright, whos idea was it to give the Daleks helium voices?!

SFX guy: It seemed like a good idea at the time.

  • BABY DALEK EXPLODED!

  • Actually, this is neither a remake nor a colourisation, but rather original footage from the 5th Doctor story The Five Doctors with a German dub.

The story featured past Doctors and companions played by the original actors, with the exception of the First, whose actor William Hartnell was replaced by Richard Hurndall due to his sad demise some years previously (yes, this is indeed an older Carole Ann Ford, the original Susan).

  • Thats fucked up, god the german know how to kill something good, lol

  • Is this the second serial colorized?

    KÄNICHTE

(no idea if it's actually saying that, but I hear...)

  • it says: vernichte!

    which means: destroy

    or in dalek-english:

    EXXTERRMINATE!!

    :D

  • The costume worn by the Doctor is the same as that worn by the original Dr Who, William Hartnell, but this actor is not Hartnell. The actress playing the Doctors granddaughter is certain not the British actress from 1963/4. The Dalek also has the vertical bars around the middle which didnt appear until the 3rd or 4th Dalek story. The actors also appear to actually be speaking German so they must have remade the series in Germany.

  • Moron, of course it's not remade! It's all dubbed.

The actress is the SAME person from 63/64.

  • Moron Maybe but Dr who was not filmed in colour in 63/64. The actor playing the doctor is not William Hartnell. The shape of the Dalek is wrong for 63/64.

So I'm not the only Moron

  • You are, because you completely misunderstood what I said.

I never said it was William Hartnell, it is Richard Hundrall.

The actress (Granddaughter - Susan) is Carol Anne Ford - the same person who played her originally in 63/64.

Colour TV did not reach BBC1 till 1969, and this was in 1983.

    You are the only moron.

  • We are only talking about a TV show. You are taking this way to serious. Try switching off your computer, leaving your room and finding a real life. It's not hard.

  • No i'm not, it's you who can't accept that you are wrong, so you come up with some cock and bull story to make me look bad.

  • guys guys! why do you care? it's a good show okay but i don't think the producers would be to offended if you got your facts wrong.

  • I agree. I only made further comments to see how far qwertdr would go. He really is way to serious about his Dr who knowledge.

  • That's because he's a fag.

  • The german Dalek actually sounds cute LOOOL

The Dalek says VERNICHTE by the way ;)

  • its a baby dalek

  • LOL! Baby Dalek!

  • is he saying funny steph lol

    helium dalek LOL

  • I think that Dalek just got back from conquering a planet with a lot of helium in its atmosphere!

  • hahahahaha yeah man

    sounds so weird :D

  • Well, I'm quite surprised that anyone made a German version, I thought that it was an episode with Tom Baker that was dubbed German, but of course the Dalek's voice is real crap.

I think they probably just didn't have the Dalek voice gadget thing and just changed the voice in any way they could...^^

  • wtf???

  • irgendwie schon süß^^

    somehow cute^^

  • That was so CUTE!

  • Sounds like a homosexual Dalek. lol

  • That Dalek Voice sounded like a Nanzi Pingu!

  • that voice was shit. poor germans

  • Wow, that voice scared me.

  • omg got to be the funniest thing ive seen in ages

  • Time Lords cannot breath helium as in the Tom Baker era "THE ROBOTS OF DEATH" part 4. So they all walked in a room of helium or a blimp.

  • that wasnt VERY GOOD:/

  • exterminiren! exterminiren!

  • Helium Much?

  • I think Kirby is inside that.

  • ahh, some classic(or not so classic in this case) Five Doctors

  • This must be a clip from the legendary lost episode, where the German Daleks invade Belgium and assimilate the Smurfs!

  • nope derry its the five doctors

  • no no no.... you got it all wrong, its from the little known episodes,

    invasion of helium-oppilis.

  • That's insane!!! Why did they give it such a high voice????????

  • Its a baby Dalek from the sounds of it.

  • Aww! Baby Dalek!

  • it sounds like a child with a croaky voice saying "furnisher!"

  • Vernichten

  • i mean the old daleks where bad the new ones are better

  • to me it sounds like the daleks saying nanny

    sta!!!! lol!!!!

  • ahh

y do i feel sorry for that dalek

    its got a baby voice

    ahh bay dalek

  • hmmm i would not mind specials with past Doctor's

    Exterminate!

    who?

    Him?

    oh!

  • As someone pointed out on a forum - it sounds like the Dalek is saying "Furniture Furniture"

  • LOL, German Daleks.

We need Dalek to speak french, italian, chinese and japanese as well at Journey's End.

  • lmao... seriously its the daleks... journeys end did a far better interpretation!! maybe the bosch fear voices in the extremely high vocal range?

  • Smurf of the Daleks, LOL!!

  • No EXTERMINIEREN!! there, LOL!!

  • In the final episode of series 4 of the revived series there are actually some Daleks who speak in German. EXTERMINIEREN! EXTERMINIEREN! ;)

  • Exterminieren! lol

  • helium :) i'm really surprised, the dalek sounded awful a slight sense of tellytubby????

  • HELIUM XD haha

  • omg got to be the funniest thing ive seen in ages thank you

  • Aw, that was actually kinda sweet. :)

  • haha hilarious!

  • that's laughable, takes away all credibility from the Daleks. Didn't Terry Nation's estate kick up a stink?

  • sounded more like the fucking chip monks than the daleks fucking nazis

  • WTF?? o_O

The Daleks turned into Smurfs o_O

  • Where's the English version.

  • Elsewhere! This is the German version. If you didn't want the German version, why did you come here?

  • TO SEE WHAT IT WAS LIKE! Only to find that it was terrible.

  • Only the Dalek! The other voices were excellent; the German actress sounded just like Carole Ann Ford. I wonder if the guy dubbing Richard Hurndall also dubs William Hartnell.

  • lol Dalek on Helium

  • A german mate once told me the the dubbed daleks say the same thing the nazi's used to say. can anyone tell me what this was? and if this is true.

  • He just says "Vernichte" which means "destroy".

  • but it is true. being german and knowing what they sound like in english, i must admit they are dubbed terribly...

  • You're right it was badly dubbed and German is supposed to be a strong language.

  • oops... i only postet that once...

  • I think the dalek is saying FANESHTE!

  • is he drunk?

  • Vernichten Vernichten !! just for destroy...

In the new 2005 DW Show they say "Eliminieren" !! and now the German Voice of the Dalek sounds like... well SpongeBob(?!) :p

  • WTF is that damn Dalek saying, man?

  • Sounds like it's saying Fallista or somthing.

  • "vernichten" = "destroy"!

  • "vernichten" = "destroy"!

  • "vernichten" = "destroy"!

  • "vernichten" = "destroy"!

  • yikes- like a baby-- very weird :\

  • Well you get child Slitheen, I suppose you get child Daleks too :)

  • So, what do we learn from this? If you have to dub Daleks, use a ring modulator, not Helium.

    ;)

  • It's even worse than the french dalek!

  • I wonder what the cybermen sound like in this dubbed verson.

  • I don't no who hampton the hamster is but I agree, It does sound like a small rodent.

  • Sounds like the dalek ate Hampton the Hamster!!!

And its saying DESTROY instead of EXTERMINATE!!

  • That is the most ridiculous dalek voice I've ever heard! But funny!

  • Wanna know why the Daleks hate all the other races of the Universe? Whenever they spoke, people snickered at their silly voices, so they exterminated them. It wasn't until many years later that they gave up speaking German and learned English which they belived inspired much more fear in inferior races!

  • That must be a baby Dalek.

  • Aww, the dalek sounds so cute!

  • god that was funny

  • For those who dont know this , the Daleks themselves where infact born from Terry Nations fears as a child in World War II , and practically based the Daleks on the Nazi's themselves , you can see what i mean if you watch 1975's Genesis of the Daleks on VHS Video , DVD or right here on YouTube .

  • Odd... He told me that he saw a Dalek ship land outside his bedroom window one night when he was just a lad in Wales. They scuttled about the back garden for a while and left without much ado. Nobody believed him next day, but years later when he was asked to write a script for "Doctor Who," he made use of the memory. Now, mark you, when he told this story, he was taking part in a Liars' Panel at a "Blake's 7" convention.

  • Sounds like there's a chipmonk leaving inside the Dalek o.O

Why didn't the people who dubbed this just ask the BBC for a Voice Ring Modulator to produce the proper Dalek vocals?

  • your damn right about that!!! They should have just asked for a Ring Modulator !
