Just because he is driving fast with no lights does not mean he did not have an emergency. You are making an assumption based on what you think you know. Police do respond without sirens at times as not to alert an active alarm....basically somebody in a house, they hear sirens they bolt. This is the problem with people who think they know what they are talking about....if he did not have an emergency and you pased him like you say you Did, he would have slammed you with a ticket.
he most likely had a back up call or code 1 call (no lights/siren,but asap) to the driveway or street that he was pulling up to at the end of the vid. and the sudden brakeing b4 that was probably because he was reading streets or addresses...
YEAHH thanks buddy it's so truth that happen to me in 95 south from jacksonville to st. Augustine fla. and the Moron was even with me i was in the right lane matching his speed and he slam to follow me at that exit with out any precaution to avoid an accident. and guess who this moron was? the same idiot whom open a envelope inside the police st. with white powder "anthrax" and my ticket was dismiss it's time to identified this assholes and expose them..FREEDOM! infowars. com
Its true though, this very well could be 90+, for example in some videos i record of myself going over 100, due to the surroundings and long highway it only appears that i am going MAYBE 75. So i can see that this very well could be that fast.
He/her could have technically pulled you over for going over the speed limit as well and another thing if the caller requests no siren or lights they have to abide by that request. Leave the cop alone and let him/her do his job
Where is the police officer. Are you talking about the sheriffs officer. 10-40's happen all day and everyday. That's a quiet run, for crimes that could still be happening and don't want officers noticed yet. If you were doing something illegal and heard sirens or saw lights, you would now there coming. If there was someone trafficking on the highway and the officer wants to find the car before the car sees them that's a 10-40. Know whats going on before you post something next time. Thanks
it is aginsed the law for a cop to break the speed limit if he is not A: in pursuit of a perp. or B: on his way to a call. other than that a cop cannot break the law himself
Your car is rigged with a camera that is tied to your speedo? Why? Are you out looking for stuff to video or is that a company car with monitoring video?
Forget the Deputy, lets talk about you. I heard your engine speeding up to catch up to the deputy. So what does that make you since you are breaking the law by speeding?
You do realize he very well could have been heading to a call, right? If a crime is in progress and there is a chance the offender could see the officer coming, wouldn't bright LED red & blues and wailing siren kind of give away that the police are coming? You guys are damn fools.
Police recieve advanced driver training they must recert to a max of every 2 years. You got your license when you were 16 and have never been recertified since, correct? You followed a cop at 90 mph, and are surprised when he pulled you over? And yes, having ridden along, calls get dispatched, cancelled, and re-called all the time, for police, fire and ambulance. Code 2 responses occur in every dept, its part of their job, and they are trained for it. You on the other hand, put people at risk.
cops sometimes dont use their lights and sirens even if they are heading to an emergency because it scares other drivers and is more dangerous to everybody else.
I guess when you've been driving as long as I have through many states, hell, countries you learn some laws that aren't taught in the manual none of you folks read anyhow to get your drivers license. Stay you're ass out of the left lane, don't pass on the right, merge at the correct speed, don't drive side by side (ever hear of an emergency lane change? better to be behind going the same speed huh?)
And if you're not 17, quit fucking with the cops. If you're serious go into politics!
You have got to be kidding me, this isn't anywhere near 92 miles an hour, look at the poles, the lines, the other cars, everybody is moving at standard highway speeds.
@erkme73 Before i even read the comments I said thought the same thing as fire rescue calls, based on the surrounding objects, especially the dotted lines I highly doubt 92mph is an accurate speed
@erkme73 Before i even read the comments I thought the same thing as fire rescue calls, based on the surrounding objects, especially the dotted lines I highly doubt 92mph is an accurate speed. If the other cars on the road were speeding, lets says 65 mph, at 92 mph that cop and yourself would be blowing by cars like they were standing still. Which leads me to the conclusion that something isn't right with this video
@erkme73 yeah everyone is going the same speed...except for two vehicles, the cop car and this guys vehicle which are PASSING the other vehicles pretty quick. some people just gotta doubt everything
@FireRescueCalls eh actually 92 mph is pretty believable. why dont you try driving out at 60 and compare the paving markings and then compare em to this?
there are multiple reasons that he could have been traveling that fast without lights or sirens... sad that someone would go out of their way to make someone who protects them and their family look bad....
@masemurder816 What is it that I did that "makes them look bad"? I think you came to that conclusion yourself. All I did was show the YouTube audience what we in Pasco see all the time... Now, if I paid the cop do do 92 in a 55, ok. But, what you're seeing is unaltered, pure truth. Sometimes that looks bad all by itself.
@erkme73 they also didn't signal once in the video even though they changed lanes a couple of times. the ones who uphold the law should be the first to fallow it. the reason they have lights and sirens is to indicate that they are traveling above the speed limit so that you can get out of their way and to safety.
@masemurder816 Protect them and their family? Are you fucking serious!?!? BULL FUCKING SHIT! My Dad lost his mind and was tearing shit up and going ape shit in my house so I called the police and left, and when I got back up here about 5 minutes later the cops were walking around with him laughing and enjoying a cold drink, Then we called him again when he was trying to break into our house DESPITE the fact that he had a warrant they just told him to leave... Next time I'm taking it into my hand
@masemurder816 - But is hypocritical when cops drive and park anyway they want, obstruct traffic, but when civilians do it, it would cost us money, possible get us arrested if excessive, like 92 in a 55. And sadly, tickets are given out to raise revenue, not as a deterrent. And depending on who you are (status, position, ethnicity) not all people and their family get equal protection under the law. Some get harassed by the law. Like guilty until proven innocent. Rare, but still happens.
@masemurder816 After you've been "T-boned" by a cop hauling ass without lights or sirens in which the investigators manage to put you in the wrong, let me know how you feel. Totaled car and higher insurance rates for years! The cop was over 5 miles from his "call" at a residence. He was rolling almost 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. He had no reason at that point to be without lights and sirens (at least lights). Some cops think they are above the law.
I have a feeling after the camera stopped you were pulled over, just because all the sudden the cop got over and hit the brakes, waiting for you to pass him.
Have to call bull on this one. Count the road markings. At 90 mph they would nearly a solid blur. At 90mph the overtaking would be much faster, let alone you would be pulled over for following at 90mph. BTW, you have no idea what the cop was doing at the time.
Thanks for posting this. I got stopped in the same manner ~20 years ago. I was on an interstate with no traffic when a cop blew by me. I paced him @90 in a 55 and got his plates, but he pulled me over and made some lame excuse about being in a hurry to see someone in the hospital. I went to court and told the story. Cop lied and said he paced me from behind. Guess who the judge believed. Fine, I was in the wrong, but so was he. Hopefully these videos will help to curb this behavior from LE.
@onetrickdog And that is precisely why I paced him, recorded, and posted it to YouTube. Unfortunately, I given how many in the profession come to this guy's defense - and obviously see nothing wrong with the behavior - I have serious doubts.
@prancingdog your retarded. as a state trooper from PA the police still have to abide by all traffic laws when there lights and sirens are not active so how about you check your rules there chief because your just making yourself out to seem like a bit of an ass or a crooked cop for say.
You say at 0:54 he was exceeding the limit by 37 MPH, and yet you were pacing him exactly. Why do you complain that he's doing it, but you do it yourself? Are you under the misconception that your important work necessitates exceeding the speed limit, but his does not?
@ReadTheShrill Who watches the watchmen? Do citizens not have a right to document what they see as illegal behavior to turn in to the authorities? How do you suppose I am to explain to the commanding officer how fast I "think" he was going? Until they issue civilian radar/laser guns, the only way to quantify speed is by pacing.
@erkme73 I'm sorry for my lack of intelligence and confusion or just being too dumb. My question meant what type and model of camera is used in your picture in picture screen which displays your vehicle speed? I imagine that is very expensive. I hope my question has more clarity now sir. I hope you can give me the answer without doing it begrudgingly. Thanks brother!
@NewZealandAmerican no problem. The GPS based video is something i pieced together from various parts which i Listed at the link in tthe description. That was several years ago. Today you can buy all-in one units that are HD. The GS600 from dod-tec is probably the best right now.
@PanicScene1 Sure. Then, I suppose he was on a code 2 response when he blew the stop sign. Then, the code 2 was canceled before he got to the next red light (as he patiently waited for the light to change green. Then, the code 2 was reactivated, justifying the tail gating for the 1/4 mile after leaving the intersection. Imagine the odds of that. Or...
@erkme73 I dont see him blew a stop sign... a red light is a red light without his lights on he cannot just drive through it... domestic disturbance they do not turn there sirens on but still need to get there fast... anything could happen...
@erkme73 Code 2 means get there as fast as possible without using lights or sirens and not endangering the public... So they can go over the speed limit if the cop thinks it's safe. Running a red light would fall in the "endangering the public" category...
@erkme73 , ok did you think about that maybe he WAS code 2 that's why he didnt get behind you and pull you over for speeding which you so obviously are?
@erkme73 It's not necessarily that black and white. There are different levels of response and code 2 sometimes warrants stopping at lights etc. Other times they may hit their sirens/lights at an intersection and then turn them off after, it more or less depends on the nature of the call. This was by no means aggressive driving and police officers receive countless hours of training on how to drive at this speed while on either a code 2 or 3 response. You are blowing it out of proportion.
@usagora The cops work for us. He has a right to break the law in order to stop a threat to the public at large. Maybe he was following the officer to make sure he didn't do anything dangerous that would require intervention.
Nice, so speeding and no signal (twice). Sounded like a radar detector went off at the end of the video. Did he pull you over? Also, nice camera setup!
I hope you realize running code in Florida is illegal unless it has been determined that the suspect is violent. Its rare to see police here run code, just about ever. I never do myself, unless I am actively pulling someone over. The only time other than that is when we go through intersections on the way to a call. Police have to follow rules too, maybe ones you do not know. Let Us do our job, so you can do yours.
prcingdog didn't win jack shit. If the cop is on "official business" that needs traffic laws broken (ie speeding - running red lights ect) then there siren and lights HAS to be on.
This video proves the cop broke laws cause he thinks he is "the man" and it proves that prancingdog is full of himself.
I can't even count how many times speeding police cars have caused accidents that killed others because they didn't have their lights and siren going. FAIL COPS.
I love how some people support the cop driving over 90 MPH with nothing to base it on, yet slam the shit out of the guy who just happened to video-record it.
The truth is that cops do this shit all the time because they feel *THEY* are the only law in their little domain. Fortunately, more and more these cops are being held accountable for this bullshit, as just having a police car does NOT make you above any law(s).
Obviously some of those here are just cop wannabe's to support such behavior.
in conducting official business i believe the officer has to have his lights on at a minimum-i followed one officer the exact same way to see if in fact he was "speeding" to a "call"-to the gas station for a snack-too funny I know but the truth-i asked him what his hurry was-he asked me to move my vehicle so he could leave-i asked again- he repeated his answer-the fact that they speed is a given and every time i turn them in-hypocrysy at it's finest
@aysoreferee459 What kind of call would not be practical to use lights at that speed? Public safety is priority number one. killing someone is not worth catching a speeder!
do most cops have the attitude they are above the law? YES.
are most cops douche bags? YES
do most cops snub there noses at complaints from civilians they are suppose to be protecting because they think they have rights above human right? HELL YEAH!!!
some cops are good and have a good attitude
most cops are good at there job but there attitude sux
@ihaveaverybadcold i completely agree. ive only been a cop for 2 years and ive met so many that have what we in the department call "little person syndrome". they think they are above everyone just like little ppl that try to make themselves look big lol. i personally know tons of cops that do the right thing. but ive also worked with too many cops that don't deserve a badge
Ive been in this exact scenario, except it was following a CHP. And just like this cop realized he was bing followed for the same speed, he breaked and tried getting behind the person doing as he did. I was given a ticket. They will just say "how do u know I wasnt on an emergency call" I would reply because u took the time to stop and spend half an hour to give me a ticket u double standard prick
@MachtsNichts lots of people can complain when they make mistakes spelling. If you were paying attention to my last sentence, you would have noticed I forgot to capitalize my first letter of the sentence. But considering this is an informal forum with limited character usage, who really cares except those who have nothing of substance to add? If you don't realize yet, I was aiming that at you. But again, who cares? {rhetorical}
i agree with prancingdog. this video doesnt show what the cop was going to and the driver of the car with the camera was recklessly following the cop.
Just so there is no confusion - effective immediately, anyone who cannot stay on topic - arguing the merits of this video - without making personal attacks will be blocked and their comment removed. Either side.
@erkme73 then y dont u just remove the comment and tell prancingdog to rewrite it without the personal attacks if thats how u feel. it only looks childsih for u to block him right after responding to his previous posting. and besides u didn't even say in ur last response to him that he will be blocked for personal attacks. u just responded to what he had to say about the topic, and then stopped him from responding. it seems as though u didnt want him to make another good pt as he had alrdy done
I think the presence of police cause almost as much crime as they deter. Most people in this nation are peace loving and law abiding regardless what the media says. In my town the closest law enforcement agency is 35 miles away and we have 0 crime. The deterrent is armed law abiding citizens that handle their own business. Police aren't necessary.
@bigdeath903 thats gr8t for your town but not all places are so peaceful and quiet. i am sure there are bad cops out there but most are good. and i have to agree with prancingdog about you assuming alot about this cop in this video. he makes a good pt about u not knowing what the cop is hearing and sayin over his radio. just my opinion.
ps i find ur threats against law abiding ppl dangerous. i dont think pdog deserved ur threat to cast him into the sea. just cuz he disagrees with ur views.
BTW...be careful about posting these videos as they can be used to have you issued a summons for speeding. There was a case like this is the news recently.
@FireSarge30 I appreciate your concern for my legal safety. And while you may be genuinely sincere, I think you can tell from the type of video that I post, anything showing speeding is not just joy riding or hot-dogging - but rather documenting perceived abuses of power by those sworn to protect and to serve. It's unfortunate that such attempts are always met by a laundry list of excuses as to why we should accept such behavior. Still, I'll continue to post what I find.
@erkme73 - Although I respectfully disagree with some of your views, I respect your right to present your side and I appreciate the fact that you are respectful in your dialogue. I am the same way...argue a point, agree to disagree and then go for a beer. With over 25 years in public safety, I know that the public does not always know all the facts, but am not too stupid to admit that abuses occur in all segments of the population. I never abused power and if people wanted to video...fine!
@prancingdog No people are fed up with the erosion of their civil rights... Jealousy? That is probably the most childish thing I have ever heard. And this is coming from someone that has been through the academy himself. How do you guys sleep at night knowing what you do? You don't help people, you oppress them. One day we will see another 1776 and it will be people like you sir that we cast into the sea.
I was sitting at a light one night when a cop pulled up next to me for a sec, barely slowed, and ran the red (no lights). He then pulled into Wendy's. We thought it was maybe a burglary, but no. He was just in line for the drive-thru.
Sometimes they do abuse their power, you can't deny that.
lights are for a reason.cops aren't above the law.there not superhero's havin' 100 times better reaction time to run signs, tailgait,etc... while citizens are minding the laws on motorcycles or in their cars w/kids. I get it everybody hates cops and as the gov prints and controls money they are one of the bigest employers. in otherwords u are a gov worker or half ur fam is like most americans these days but this guy was going crazy and if he had official reason than turn on official lights!
@Mattyc87DOYIt all boils down to the fact that I, as a civilian, give my police force the authority to break many of the rules I am subjected to because they need to. Of course I dont want the police to abuse authority. But these people so easily attack the police when they don't have all the facts.
My police are great. They are fair, and frequently extend warnings to those who show a little respect, remorse for violating traffic laws, and/or have extenuating circumstances. I respect their job
Honestly, if I have a cop riding my ass I dont move out of the way for them unless they have their lights on. I drive like they dont exist because alot of them want you to be afraid, atleast out in my area of town..
I think it's interesting that you yourself were speeding to keep up with him. The bottom line is, you don't know where he was going or why he was driving that way. You can assume it was because he felt like it if you want, but that doesn't prove anything. This video doesn't tell the whole story. Even if he did end up stopping, that still means nothing. What if he was going to a call and then en route was canceled?
@prancingdog Does "authority to break traffic rules" include the right for a cop to climb into the trunk of the car in front of him (i.e. tailgating)? Just curious what training/procedure/event could possible make that acceptable. Imagine if the driver ahead of the deputy at 0:27 hit their brakes. Without lights and sirens, that driver would have had no reason to get out of the way. Justifying this type of driving as necessary or permitted is so biased it's laughable.
@erkme73: An officer responding to burglary NEVER uses his lights and sirens within earshot of said event. Do you know why? Or do I really have to break this most obvious of reasons down for you.
And officer, in most jurisdictions, has the authority to break traffic rules commensurate with the event they are dealing with. Meaning...If the officer is heading to a call of a man shooting up a school, he can drive the wrong way down a highway if he needed to. Whereas going to a dispute, he can't.
@erkme73 Actually yes, Because, as you can see, the cop couldn't change lanes at 0:27. He was probably C2 to some call which would require him to go as fast as he could at all times possible, without using his lights/sirens, and tailgating a car would generally make that driver change lanes, and he did. As you can see, after the car changed lanes, the cop was off. That's the most reasonable explanation, until you can give police scanner recordings proving otherwise, what I just said is fact.
@drahon45 C2 = tailgating is ok. I guess my simple mind cannot understand how something so blatantly dangerous is acceptable. In my perfect world, the cop would turn on his lights momentarily to signal the driver to move over. That might cause fear/panic, and that driver may not react as expected - but having someone's front bumper in my trunk would make me MAD - and may also result in unexpected results.
@gtasalova6969 If the only way to prove a precise speed is to match it (since I don't have a laser/radar gun, or training to visually estimate speeds), then I use the only tool at my disposal - my speedometer/GPS. I hardly consider that hypocrisy, as it was the only available means to an end. I think your 'issue' is that I dare accuse the men in blue, since Only THEY can pull the "do as I say, not as I do" hypocrisy card.
@erkme73 No that is not the issue, I feel as if officers should have to fallow all the same laws that you do Except for in any sort of emergency situation. But you breaking the law to prove that an officer is breaking the law is hypocrisy at it's finest.
@gtasalova6969 If the only way to catch a law breaker is to break the law, then I'm guilty. No argument there. But given that it's the ONLY way to do it, I don't see I had any other choice. If my video showed me speeding on another day, for no reason at all, then that would be hypocrisy. In this case, it was a means to an end. We're going in circles, and you can have the last word.
@prancingdog for the record if a cop is responding to a call they MUST HAVE LIGHTS ON, and if they are just driving around they are bound to the same traffic laws as us. Imagine if every cop in the US drove like this moron, more cops would be in car accidents than civilians
@23cmglenn: WRONG! I'd hate to point this most obvious of scenarios out for you, but it really is the only way to get it through your head:
Officers responding to burglaries NEVER use their lights and sirens. THIS IS A FACT OF ALL DEPARTMENTS COUNTRYWIDE. I wonder if you could possibly understand why.
Ugh! I can't stand Youtube Trolls! "I watch CSI, and Law and Order so I know the law, and, and...you broke the law cuz I'm an expert cuz I studied this"
@v0nndutch: HAHAHA Did you actually type "know your knowledge" right before you tried making fun of ME?
HAHAHA!!!! Thank you for making such a total fool of yourself while trying to make fun of me. I can't tell you just how much I enjoyed that laugh. LMFAO!!
@prancingdog Just because they can legally do it doesn't make it right. Let's get this straight, an officer, in the interest of public safety, can pull a speeder over by speeding himself and weaving through traffic. How does that make anyone safer? It doesn't all it does is generate revenue and screw the American people. I think the American people should just start ignoring the police in traffic stops until they start solving REAL problems, which they never do...
@prancingdog If he was responding to a call why wasn't his lights and sirens on? Isn't that what they are for? Isn't public safety the number one priority hear? A cop driving 90+ with lights off proves this cop is an idiot!
@prancingdog i can understand if he was going a little bit over but going 37mp\h fking over the speed without lights is a danger to the public, a car pulling out would think the car is going 55 mp/h because it's the speed limit, and the cop would smash into the other car because the fucktard is going way over the speed limit, police regulations are if you are going to speed, or go to a serious call you must use lights and/or sirens
@prancingdog ALL STATES should make it where if a police must exceed the speed limit they should do so with their lights on. Most highways was design and speed limits was posted for safe traveling and when a police exceed this limit they should make themselves visible to other drivers for saftey reasons so your first argument maybe correct but shouldn't be.
@prancingdog It shows the trailing car breaking the speed limit! :-)
If the police car was on official duty and was atending to an emergency call it would surely be good practice to have the lights going even if they needed to have a quiet approach. How would they otherwise expect other road usuers to 'get out of there way' when they are being caught up at speeds they woudn't be expecting.
I'm not knocking the police in anyway but surely safety of other road users would be a major conern?
@prancingdog Our fire trucks can't go any faster than the speed limit without running red lights and siren, anything else, and we get in trouble, and don't say anything saying that this is a fire engine and thats a law enforcement officer, because their all the just emergency responders.
@prancingdog @prancingdog Although you make some valid points, I have to point out that unless there was an acutal EMERGENCY, there is no reason why this cop shoul be doing 92 in a 55. Additionally, had there been an ACTUAL EMERGENCY, his overhead lights and/or siren should have been activated. Just because he has a badge and a gun does NOT put him above any laws.
Well that's what happens when you give cops Need For Speed cars. They're going to take em' for a ride.

@FireRescueCalls Just for grins, putting aside your doubt that this really is 92MPH (I can assure you, it is), does that change anything?
erkme73 4 months ago 3

MrBlizacane 4 months ago
@erkme73 yeah everyone is going the same speed...except for two vehicles, the cop car and this guys vehicle which are PASSING the other vehicles pretty quick. some people just gotta doubt everything
boxersrock1 3 months ago
@FireRescueCalls Speed always looks slower on video. 140 mph looks like 80 mph on film.
420hih 4 months ago
@FireRescueCalls eh actually 92 mph is pretty believable. why dont you try driving out at 60 and compare the paving markings and then compare em to this?
eugenew23 4 months ago
@FireRescueCalls That looks to be about 90, actually.

@FireRescueCalls you are right...look at the "M" in mph...looks like it was edited down from a "K"...kph vs. mph

there are multiple reasons that he could have been traveling that fast without lights or sirens... sad that someone would go out of their way to make someone who protects them and their family look bad....
masemurder816 4 months ago
@masemurder816 What is it that I did that "makes them look bad"? I think you came to that conclusion yourself. All I did was show the YouTube audience what we in Pasco see all the time... Now, if I paid the cop do do 92 in a 55, ok. But, what you're seeing is unaltered, pure truth. Sometimes that looks bad all by itself.
erkme73 4 months ago
@erkme73 they also didn't signal once in the video even though they changed lanes a couple of times. the ones who uphold the law should be the first to fallow it. the reason they have lights and sirens is to indicate that they are traveling above the speed limit so that you can get out of their way and to safety.
shamusmayes 3 months ago
@masemurder816 Protect them and their family? Are you fucking serious!?!? BULL FUCKING SHIT! My Dad lost his mind and was tearing shit up and going ape shit in my house so I called the police and left, and when I got back up here about 5 minutes later the cops were walking around with him laughing and enjoying a cold drink, Then we called him again when he was trying to break into our house DESPITE the fact that he had a warrant they just told him to leave... Next time I'm taking it into my hand
14omega28ok 4 months ago
@masemurder816 - But is hypocritical when cops drive and park anyway they want, obstruct traffic, but when civilians do it, it would cost us money, possible get us arrested if excessive, like 92 in a 55. And sadly, tickets are given out to raise revenue, not as a deterrent. And depending on who you are (status, position, ethnicity) not all people and their family get equal protection under the law. Some get harassed by the law. Like guilty until proven innocent. Rare, but still happens.
CSILogic 4 months ago
@masemurder816 After you've been "T-boned" by a cop hauling ass without lights or sirens in which the investigators manage to put you in the wrong, let me know how you feel. Totaled car and higher insurance rates for years! The cop was over 5 miles from his "call" at a residence. He was rolling almost 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. He had no reason at that point to be without lights and sirens (at least lights). Some cops think they are above the law.

creeper711 4 months ago

Thanks for posting this. I got stopped in the same manner ~20 years ago. I was on an interstate with no traffic when a cop blew by me. I paced him @90 in a 55 and got his plates, but he pulled me over and made some lame excuse about being in a hurry to see someone in the hospital. I went to court and told the story. Cop lied and said he paced me from behind. Guess who the judge believed. Fine, I was in the wrong, but so was he. Hopefully these videos will help to curb this behavior from LE.
onetrickdog 5 months ago 4
@onetrickdog And that is precisely why I paced him, recorded, and posted it to YouTube. Unfortunately, I given how many in the profession come to this guy's defense - and obviously see nothing wrong with the behavior - I have serious doubts.

ReadTheShrill 5 months ago
@ReadTheShrill Who watches the watchmen? Do citizens not have a right to document what they see as illegal behavior to turn in to the authorities? @PanicScene1 Sure. Then, I suppose he was on a code 2 response when he blew the stop sign. Then, the code 2 was canceled before he got to the next red light (as he patiently waited for the light to change green. Then, the code 2 was reactivated, justifying the tail gating for the 1/4 mile after leaving the intersection. Imagine the odds of that. Or...
erkme73 5 months ago 13
@erkme73 I dont see him blew a stop sign... a red light is a red light without his lights on he cannot just drive through it... domestic disturbance they do not turn there sirens on but still need to get there fast... anything could happen...
Tj1056 4 months ago
@erkme73 Code 2 means get there as fast as possible without using lights or sirens and not endangering the public... So they can go over the speed limit if the cop thinks it's safe. Running a red light would fall in the "endangering the public" category...
P71Love 4 months ago
@erkme73 , ok did you think about that maybe he WAS code 2 that's why he didnt get behind you and pull you over for speeding which you so obviously are?
insanelygreatproduct 4 months ago
@erkme73 It's not necessarily that black and white. There are different levels of response and code 2 sometimes warrants stopping at lights etc. Other times they may hit their sirens/lights at an intersection and then turn them off after, it more or less depends on the nature of the call. This was by no means aggressive driving and police officers receive countless hours of training on how to drive at this speed while on either a code 2 or 3 response. You are blowing it out of proportion.
fear614 3 months ago
@PanicScene1 Code 2 is lights only. Code 3 is lights + siren. Code 1=Non emergency (No lights no siren.)

Obviously some of those here are just cop wannabe's to support such behavior.

in conducting official business i believe the officer has to have his lights on at a minimum-i followed one officer the exact same way to see if in fact he was "speeding" to a "call"-to the gas station for a snack-too funny I know but the truth-i asked him what his hurry was-he asked me to move my vehicle so he could leave-i asked again- he repeated his answer-the fact that they speed is a given and every time i turn them in-hypocrysy at it's finest

lights are for a reason.cops aren't above the law.there not superhero's havin' 100 times better reaction time to run signs, tailgait,etc... while citizens are minding the laws on motorcycles or in their cars w/kids. I get it everybody hates cops and as the gov prints and controls money they are one of the bigest employers. in otherwords u are a gov worker or half ur fam is like most americans these days but this guy was going crazy and if he had official reason than turn on official lights!
assman255 7 months ago
@Mattyc87DOYIt all boils down to the fact that I, as a civilian, give my police force the authority to break many of the rules I am subjected to because they need to. Of course I dont want the police to abuse authority. But these people so easily attack the police when they don't have all the facts.
My police are great. They are fair, and frequently extend warnings to those who show a little respect, remorse for violating traffic laws, and/or have extenuating circumstances. I respect their job
prancingdog 7 months ago
Honestly, if I have a cop riding my ass I dont move out of the way for them unless they have their lights on. I drive like they dont exist because alot of them want you to be afraid, atleast out in my area of town..
TheBlackestBreed 7 months ago
I think it's interesting that you yourself were speeding to keep up with him. The bottom line is, you don't know where he was going or why he was driving that way. You can assume it was because he felt like it if you want, but that doesn't prove anything. This video doesn't tell the whole story. Even if he did end up stopping, that still means nothing. What if he was going to a call and then en route was canceled?
obmax1212 7 months ago
Is there ever a time when cops do not use lights and sirens when responding to calls? YES.
Do police have the authority to break traffic rules while conducting official business if it is necessary? YES.
Does this video, at any time, show where the cop is going, what the cop's radio transmissions are, or any other pertinent facts? NOPE.
Is this just another video of a cop doing his job, and some nitwit complaining about how it is done? Yup.
This video proves nothing. Except it was sunny.
prancingdog 7 months ago 53
@prancingdog Does "authority to break traffic rules" include the right for a cop to climb into the trunk of the car in front of him (i.e. tailgating)? Just curious what training/procedure/event could possible make that acceptable. Imagine if the driver ahead of the deputy at 0:27 hit their brakes. Without lights and sirens, that driver would have had no reason to get out of the way. Justifying this type of driving as necessary or permitted is so biased it's laughable.
erkme73 7 months ago
@erkme73: An officer responding to burglary NEVER uses his lights and sirens within earshot of said event. Do you know why? Or do I really have to break this most obvious of reasons down for you.
And officer, in most jurisdictions, has the authority to break traffic rules commensurate with the event they are dealing with. Meaning...If the officer is heading to a call of a man shooting up a school, he can drive the wrong way down a highway if he needed to. Whereas going to a dispute, he can't.
prancingdog 7 months ago
@erkme73 Actually yes, Because, as you can see, the cop couldn't change lanes at 0:27. He was probably C2 to some call which would require him to go as fast as he could at all times possible, without using his lights/sirens, and tailgating a car would generally make that driver change lanes, and he did. As you can see, after the car changed lanes, the cop was off. That's the most reasonable explanation, until you can give police scanner recordings proving otherwise, what I just said is fact.
drahon45 6 months ago
@drahon45 C2 = tailgating is ok. I guess my simple mind cannot understand how something so blatantly dangerous is acceptable. In my perfect world, the cop would turn on his lights momentarily to signal the driver to move over. That might cause fear/panic, and that driver may not react as expected - but having someone's front bumper in my trunk would make me MAD - and may also result in unexpected results.
erkme73 6 months ago
@erkme73 Wait wait wait, so you think it's wrong for the police to break the law and yet you do it yourself? Hmm hypocrisy is a wonderful thing...
Cops are allowed to break traffic laws when responding to a call. They are professional drivers with high performance brakes...
gtasalova6969 6 months ago
@gtasalova6969 If the only way to prove a precise speed is to match it (since I don't have a laser/radar gun, or training to visually estimate speeds), then I use the only tool at my disposal - my speedometer/GPS. I hardly consider that hypocrisy, as it was the only available means to an end. I think your 'issue' is that I dare accuse the men in blue, since Only THEY can pull the "do as I say, not as I do" hypocrisy card.
erkme73 6 months ago
@erkme73 No that is not the issue, I feel as if officers should have to fallow all the same laws that you do Except for in any sort of emergency situation. But you breaking the law to prove that an officer is breaking the law is hypocrisy at it's finest.
gtasalova6969 6 months ago
@gtasalova6969 If the only way to catch a law breaker is to break the law, then I'm guilty. No argument there. But given that it's the ONLY way to do it, I don't see I had any other choice. If my video showed me speeding on another day, for no reason at all, then that would be hypocrisy. In this case, it was a means to an end. We're going in circles, and you can have the last word.

shinyfuzzy 6 months ago
@prancingdog for the record if a cop is responding to a call they MUST HAVE LIGHTS ON, and if they are just driving around they are bound to the same traffic laws as us. Imagine if every cop in the US drove like this moron, more cops would be in car accidents than civilians
23cmglenn 7 months ago
@23cmglenn: WRONG! I'd hate to point this most obvious of scenarios out for you, but it really is the only way to get it through your head:

@prancingdog Just because they can legally do it doesn't make it right. Let's get this straight, an officer, in the interest of public safety, can pull a speeder over by speeding himself and weaving through traffic. How does that make anyone safer? It doesn't all it does is generate revenue and screw the American people. I think the American people should just start ignoring the police in traffic stops until they start solving REAL problems, which they never do...

@prancingdog And that he was speeding.

@prancingdog Code 1- Respond non-emergency no lights or siren OBEYING ALL TRAFFIC LAWS
Code 2- Respond at your own leisure, lights not required, OBEYING ALL TRAFFIC LAWS
Code 3- Respond emergency, LIGHTS AND SIREN REQUIRED, use caution at all stoplights, or intersections.
This Law Officer broke the law for emergency responders...
