these people make music, they breathe music, they're not making careers of rocknroll
seen them a few times, I'm not concerned for them for their livelihoods, I'm sure they make a nice amount of spending money from music sales even today.
One of my favorite guitarist James Williamson made a career outside of & so far from rocknroll, what he played on raw power all written on acoustic, there's no record sounds like that.
This band is simply amazing. I would love for them to come to San Francisco to play for all of us but they very rarely even play out. I have created a Facebook page to encourage them to do just that. Please search for and "LIKE" my page entitled, Dear Innocence Mission- Please, Please TOUR. (youtube won't let me post link here).
The goal is to somehow have Karen or the band to hear of this movement and know how much we'd love for them to tour and then do it! Tell your friends.
@skatttterbrain3, They used to tour, but with three young children, they haven't played often in places too far away from their home in SE Pennsylvania. Hopefully, when the young'uns are older, they'll decide that touring America some Summer will be the perfect educational experience for all, (not to mention spreading joy and sunshine wherever they go!)
@RadioFreeSpike As a longtime fan, I wonder how they are able to survive and raise 3 kids on mostly just the proceeds of record sales alone. By virtue of their talent and the beauty of their music, they should sell millions of records.
@Nigelxman I do believe Don is still a carpenter. I assume Karen takes care of the children and does much of the homeschooling. Mike teaches music and plays with other bands. So the Innocence Mission is not their only source of income.
Would you come play a house concert in my living room… in Winnipeg? Pretty Please! It's only 1500 miles or 27 hours by car… I'll change my name to Tom… I've got rather large puppy dog eyes… There are lots of lovely Canadian lakes…
Can't stop listening to Innocence Mission
