It really doesn't say that in the constitution, I don't know why you are calling him a moron. The "wall of separation between church and state" was something Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter in 1802, to reasure a baptist church that the state with their freedom to worship.
Even that wasn't in the original constitution, that was an amendment to it from the Bill of Rights. Some states had already established official religions by then.
Anyway, the establishment was interpreted much more literally by the actual founders as just prohibbiting promoting specific religions; government sanction prayers, and bible reading in public schools was not seen as an issue.

I said people aren't motivated by atheism and that those who are motivated to evil/stupidity by belief in God are likely to be of the religous-theist variety (hence the video) and not deist. Even that wasn't in the original constitution, that was an amendment to it from the Bill of Rights. Some states had already established official religions by then.
Anyway, the establishment was interpreted much more literally by the actual founders as just prohibbiting promoting specific religions; government sanction prayers, and bible reading in public schools was not seen as an issue.
I think he is referring the modern broadly interpreted separation

@afeeder It doesn't matter if it is in the bill of rights, otherwise i could just say "you dont have the right to free speech". and frankly, since the public schools are run by the government, they are part of the government, and should not be allowed to establish a religion, and since creationism is a largely religious view, is should not be allowed to be taught in schools any more than evolution should be taught in churches.

He's the Son of God, he restored life, he destroyed death. He gave us the new law, to love your neighbour as yourself. Easy to say, very hard to do. That is why simply quoting selected passages of the Old Testament and saying that this is what Christians believe, without even mentioning Christ, is very misleading.

1. What genre is this? Prophecy; 90% of prophetic literature is symbolic
2. Who is talking, and to whom? God, to an anthropomorphic symbol of his judgment on Israel. Saying this verse is a command to believers is to suspend reading comprehension, and the sort of hermeneutic atrocity usually committed by fundamentalists.

I accept that some of the most kind and beneficent people in the world where theists, such as Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr., but they managed to put their beliefs aside for the greater good, realizing that no matter the belief, we were all Human beings, and our goals on this world where more important then our service to some power in another. They were great people!
