I wish he had an in depth instructional for his half hook that he puts in on the front leg to get under them. It's still hard for me to understand what he is doing.

It's like the guy puts up his right leg so Marcelo puts a butterfly hook into the instep, then he wraps his left arm around the leg and get the right underhook on the body? I need mikes help from a few comments ago

@TerriblexOne Subscribe to Marcelos channel...he always has great stuff on there I'm sure you can pick it up. It's a not a difficult move, but it's very effective. If you want some help, let me know and I'll help you best I can. I'm not as advanced as Marcelo but I am a brown belt, so I will do my best to help ya out.

marcelo garcia is a tier above everyone else in jiu jitsu. the man just exudes pure brilliance in every single move he makes. if he was just a little bit bigger, he'd undoubtedly be better than roger gracie and jacare. p4p he's definitely the best grappler on the planet. if they actually decide to add bjj in the 2016 olympics...well, you know who's grabbing that gold in the 82kg class

@longfingernail One arm traps the other arm and he gets it in deep enough to where he can grab his opponent's shoulder. If it were a competition the person being submitted probably would have struggled harder as well.

@longfingernail gotta have ur choking arm's hand gripping deep on that shoulder, then sink the choking arm's elbow down the other shoulder for tap, or u can kind of finishing it like baseball choke motion.

@longfingernail Yeah, like everyoen else is saying. You gotta get the hand on the shoulder, once you do that just play with it. You'll figure it out. Keep in mind that uhh, he makes it look hella easy though rofl.

@EvanChaim He does straight armbars and a move he calls the spiral armbar. He does not use Kimuras or Keylocks though except to possibly set up other moves. Never to finish. He also never uses arm chokes that have an arm in like an arm triangle, darce/brabo, anaconda, etc. His only chokes are the RNC, guillotine, and north-south choke.

@EvanChaim Since he fights so many guys that are bigger than him, his philosophy is that if it doesn't work as well on a bigger guy, he won't use it on people his own size or smaller. So he uses the same moves on everyone. His game is very stream-lined in that way. He also only chokes with his right arm. Pay attention to that. You have never, and will never, see Marcelo choke anyone, with any choke, with his left arm. Only right leg for butterfly hook sweeps,etc. He has a game for right and left
