We don't have dogmatic or religious needs. We have spiritual needs and all the BS that is taught at school about religion doesn't make much sense to us... If I answered "yes" or "no" it would be a cruel simplicity, so I cannot do that. I guess there should be some punishment but there is a murdered that kills and has a laugh of it, a murdered that kills out of anger and desperation, a rapist that had his childhool destroyed and one that can't be justified, a liar that wants to fleece people from money and a liar that doesn't want to hurt someone's feelings.

the entire idea behind brave new world is that happiness is forced. people are not truly happy because they cannot choose to be happy. this movie is much less insightful compared to the book. happiness is how they control people, and distract them from real life. the low status workers take soma to distract them from the fact that they have dead end jobs. the higher classes take soma to distract them from the fact that they cant think for themselves.
