  • Man, Sophie Aldred was such a major league *hottie*!!!!

  • I love their friendship. I love it how they are always saving each other. I love this incarnation of the Doctor, he's so funny. The funniest line to me that he said was "I've got an ace up my sleeve" and Ace enters.

  • A man wearing a be-question marked jumper should not be even remotely attractive.

    ...And yet, he is.

  • I think Ace should show up in the new series, if only to explain the circumstances of why she left the Doctor.

I also think it would be great to see her for the 50th anniversary in 2013.

  • Oh had this era had the rrrrrrrespect it deserved. So many ideas to take it all to what it was always meant to be... ruined by stupid, avaricious halfwits of the paperwork time!

  • BESSIE!

  • It's funny, I can't hear this song anymore without thinking of this video *grins*. Nice work!

  • One of my favorite Doctor's... and one of my favorite companions... "Professor!"

  • This is brilliant :~)

The 7th Doctor & Ace is still one of my very favourite Doctor/Companion pairings ever. So real, so deep and so fascinating to watch the friendship/mentorship between them grow. I miss them both

  • 7th and Ace = best combination

    7th = best doctor

if you like these then listen to the big finish audio plays and meet Hex!

  • @zoidberg590 you like 7, eh? new fanzine coming up in December with a new strip written by Andrew Cartmel about 7, Ace and Dinosaurs!

  • @hcvang have you got a link?

  • Knocked it out of the park, you did. Also, I subscribe to the theory that, while most people depict Ace as sort of the female Jack Harkness, I believe that she and the Doctor shagged at least once, possibly tying into her decision to leave, and this video kind of reinforces that line of thought. Your Opinion?

  • @allnewtpir Nah. For one thing, the Doctor has always been asexual. And two, he's way too old for her. Or are you talking about the actors instead of the characters?

  • @Calriec Doc has dipped his wick a few times, and since there a fanon explanation that Ace lost her virginity to Glitz, I think maybe he stepped in and handled it properly. As far as the actors go, no, but I know McCoy & Aldred remain friends to this day.

  • @allnewtpir the doctor never shagged his companions - they're supposed to carry out the role his grand daughter had in the first season.

  • @hcvang Not on camera, I'll give you that. But in 26 years, do you really think the Doctor hadn't got it on with any of them at least once?

  • @1goldenroad I think that's what I just said, yeah. Grand daughter. Replacements. Avuncular.

Think there's a reason the time lords regenerate instead of reproducing, no?

  • @hcvang It does cut down on the cleanup, I'll give you that. But I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm firmly in the camp that believes the Doctor has a dick, and has used it more than once.

  • @1goldenroad slash fiction... disgusting stuff.

  • Isn't that the Third Doctor's car at 1:42?

  • @lkgrave: Good eyes. Yes it is - it's from the episode Battlefield. The Brig was keeping Bessie safe for The Doctor, and hauled her out of storage for one last joyride. ;) Thanks for watching!

  • You some idiots are saying that the mega creepy river scum will turn out to be ACE! I hope that mega scum doesn't turn out to be any of the previous companions. Ace, Mel, Romana, or anyone. They all deserve better. Shame on the arrogant jerks who currently write for dr who. What is wrong with them? When you watch interviews with them they are practically patting themselves on their backs over their own "cleaverness". Pathetic. Let's hope the BBC fires them soon.

  • @sallyjosie Oops! I meant to say......You KNOW some idiots....LOL

  • Can anybody tell me what the episode is at 1.27? when ace is on the floor and he's juggling?

  • @gallifrey12: That would be the episode Greatest Show In The Galaxy. Thanks for watching!

  • ........not that they tried to replicate this level of trust between characters in the 2005+ "regeneration" or anything..... nice effort, but it they sort of FUBARed it, much as I "kind of" like the new ones.

  • @all13Doctors: I'm actually partial to the relationship (and I say that meaning "friendship", not "romance") betwixt Ten & Donna. I love how they play off each other - especially during the scenes where they correct others who assume they are a couple. Then again, I might be biased as I think anything Catherine Tate does is fantastic. ;)

  • @misticrystal WTF? how did I forget that? Whoops, i was thinking of 9/10 and rose... 10/Donna worked wonders... somehow i forgot that! Actually, I was really disappointed that one ended so soon!

  • You really make beautiful tributes! Oh go and make me cry at this why don't you :P Thank you so much xxx

  • What ep is the scene at 0:22 from? Its so nice to see the Doctor without his hat on :D He looks so much younger in that clip.

  • @mewmew88: That's the ending of Remembrance of the Daleks about 30 seconds before the credits roll. He does look younger in this scene, but he's actually about 1/3 of the way through his time as the Doctor. It's one of my little favorite moments between him & Ace. Thanks for watching!

  • @misticrystal Thanks, I'll have to rewatch Rememberence now as I dont remember that bit :D Any excuse to watch Dr Who lol

  • @mewmew88: Oh I am so in agreement with that... It's the weekend - let the Who-Marathon commence! ;)

  • @misticrystal Yay Who-Marathon :D

  • @misticrystal OMFG dude's the amount of times I hace seen Remeberance Of The Daleks- epic ep. Got a good excuse to watch it. gr8 vid by the way, my fave DW duo !

  • When I first saw the Seventh Doctor, I didn't like him. That was mainly because the first story he was in sucked, and I was devastated at losing Colin's Doctor. However, I watched quite a few more of his episodes and quickly grew to love him. This video does him great justice.

  • @Alexoneil: Thank you - I'm flattered. I think what happened with Collin's Doctor was awful, and I deeply miss his Eternal Snarkiness as well.

  • That was an amazing video, I really enjoy the Doctor and Ace, which reminds me I need to get some DVD's from that era.

    Ace! :D

  • A Doctor/Companion team second to NONE

    Sorry doctor 3 And Sarah

  • 1:41 what is this from? don't recognize that at all. Is it battlefield? That looks like bessie behind ace. Anyone know?

  • Good eyes! Yes, that's the ending scene from Battlefield where the girls are heading into town and the boys are staying behind to cook supper & mow the lawn. ;) Thanks for watching!

  • @misticrystal Its the only one that made sense. UNIT was in it & the Brigadier. Bessie had to be there somewhere. This is my favorite Doctor/Companion combo ever as this is the one I started with. really cool tribute vid. I forgot a lot of what was in these clips. Haven't seen most of them in a long time.

  • i laughed so hard at 2:20

i love this video. ace is defo my fave companion.

  • I have to admit, I think that's one of his more brilliant comedic moments in the series. Thanks for watching!

  • I agree with everything you said. Quite emotional watching this actually because last time i saw it I was barely 5 years old.

  • Is the song by Daughtry?

  • Yeah, the song is 'Feels Like Tonight' and the artist is Daughtry.

  • oh i just love daughtry

  • I just watched Ace's series on the show, I think that after Sarah Jane she might be the best companion from the original series, it's a pity she didn't have nearly the level of writing that Sarah Jane got. Also it's kinda interesting to juxtapose the nature of her relationship w/ the Doctor (father-daughter ish) w/ Sarah Jane's (kinda pseudo romantic).

  • She's the best, not second best.

  • you know what made these two great? Genuine chemistry. you got the feeling they were both friends, really learning from each other, that you don't really get from any of the new or many of the older companions. their relationship felt natural, evolved naturally, and was never hamfisted or hackneyed, like with Rose.

She felt more like a daughter to him then his own granddaughter Susan.

  • Gorgeous. Sly McCoy was a mighty fine Doctor. They were developing his Doctor so well before the BBC axed the show. I can't help but imagine how his regeneration would've evolved if it wasn't. I feel sick when i think about this injustice. The 'Doctor Who Adventures' do help - the development of Ace in them is interesting - but damn I wish the show continued past 1989. At least, as seen in the 1996 Dr.Who movie, the 7th Doctor did live a long regeneration, since he showed signs of having aged.

  • I've noticed something:

    Tom Baker = Jermey Clarkson

    Sylvester McCoy = Richard Hammond

    John Pertwee = James May

  • dick

  • I love this video. I miss 7/Ace. I wish it had never ended!

  • Same here. There's always the audio dramas, but there's only so much one can convey through the voice. (sigh) Thank God for DVD's and video cassettes... Otherwise my OCD would have no outlet. ;)

  • Couldn't agree more :)

  • A lot of the good dramatic scenes came from that episode as it was Ace's coming of age story. That and they worked really well with the lyrics. ;)

  • Excellent! I like the song too; well done =D

  • I haven't gotten to the seventh doctor, but I heard he was really good.

  • I think he's wonderful. Many people underestimate him since his role was a bit strained because BBC DW ratings were beginning to decline.

Otherwise, he's a little gem--added a uniqueness to the role, his own seasoning, if you will =]

  • Not very long ago, I accidently got one of his dvds about the daleks, he really was good,

  • Wow! I absolutely love Seven/Ace and you've captured so nicely here! This video is really mature and just brilliant. I also love that little speech at the end, thanks for including it! :)

  • OOOH! I really like this! Perfect mix of song and video clips. Some wonderful scenes between the Doctor and Ace. This is now one of my favorites. BTW, thanks for adding the spoons! Please do more 7/Ace.

  • About Ace, reply here if you'd tap that.

  • I;ve long wished I could....

  • i wanted to slam her when i was like 8,9 or 10,early starter see lol

  • Oh yes

  • This was a brilliant example of the relationship between the Seventh Doctor and Ace. these two are my second favourite Doctor and Companion after the Tenth Doctor and Rose.

    Everything matched perfectly.

What is the name of the song that used here? It's brilliant!

    Great Job!

  • Thanks! The song is "Feels Like Tonight" by Daughtry.

  • This is very good, well done. :)

  • Glad you liked it. :D
