I like this scene because they didn't make Steve so powerful that he just beats the bigfoot guy. Let's face it Steve was getting his head handed too him. Also in typical fashion for pre-80's television Steve is the good guy because bigfoot swung first.
I like this scene because they didn't make Steve so powerful that he just beats the bigfoot guy. Let's face it steve was getting his head handed too him.
@RVBOY2 you know...I thought the same thing when I saw that....that it wasn't just a footprint, but it was a print in plaster!!! boy...you would think the people doing these shows wouldn't make all the mistakes they make :D
It wasn't just the sound effects that made this tv show great, it was also the music! The music that went with every scene was just fantastic!! Then that cool run that Lee had just set it off!!
@jd7779311 I agree completely, but there were three other elements that made this show great along with The Bionic Woman. First, believability. They made it believable, but again that was due partly to the music and sound effects like you said. Two, they had a humanness about them. Three, they would add in a bit of humor: 2:21 "I don't want to hurt ya, and I'd like to think the feeling's mutual".
@Beautifulmusiclistnr Oh yeah! You are so right. Especially on the believable part. Man you couldnt tell me the government at that time didnt have the capability to make a bionic arm or leg. But you know Time Life is selling the whole 4 seasons of the show. But damn they want over $200.00 for them. I have to get them though.
@jd7779311 They want $200??? Ouch! I'll need to save my Bionic pennies for it! lol I agree with you though. I sure would like to have that set also. As you probably have heard, Lee Majors was on a certain person's TV show this week, and everyone in the audience got the entire series that's on DVD. Talk about cool! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless!
Now that home video game have caught up with movie like graphics don't you all think it's time to petition for a six million dollar man and a bionic woman xbo360 and playstation 3d game that has movie like graphics like the tv shows??? I think that would be off the chain!!!
I loved everything bionic, I'm 42 and I have the bionic sound as a ringtone, some may say I'm sad, but hey, this guy sums up my youth. What I liked about Steve was he had a vulnerability that we could identify with. When I hear the first bit of the theme, I'm 9 again complete with goosebumps, "I can't hold it, she breakin up" dur nur nur nur!
This was so awesome. I get tense watching it now at age 38, just as I did when I was 6 or 7 because it scared me to death when I was a little boy! Steve Austin rocked! Both he and Jayme Somers were my two favorite superheros (along with Wonder Woman of course) when I was a kid. The Bionic Bigfoot and the Fembots were my all time favorite episodes! I wish Universal would release both series on DVD. I'm dying to collect them! When are you going to wise up Universal???
I agree with you totally!!! I looked up to Steve, Jaime, and Wonder Woman, too LOL! I get so pissy when others, esp. the younger ones, try and put it down. This was classic TV!
This is a great show, especially the episodes where the six million dollar man fights Big foot, they were always among my favourites. Thanks foe posting.
MrPurrfect68- No my friend in season 3 it was Andre in this one (Secret Of Bigfoot) 1st story. In Season 4 Ted Cassidy did (Return of Bigfoot) which is the first followup and then Season 5 (Bigfoot V)the second followup and final Bigfoot story. Of course I am sure you know Ted was Lurch in the Addams family in the 60's and also Hulk tv series intro narrator and Lou Ferrigno's growls for the Hulk until he died in 1979 and then Hulk was voiced by Charles Napier.
@RVBOY2 A little off their bud. Andre The Giant did the first 2 partner Bigfoot episode. Ted Cassidy did the 2 followups and he was Lurch from the Addams Family. Fred Gwyne was Herman on The Munsters.
Years ago, a friend and I were in a bar and he started talking about this. He's like "remember when Steve Austin picked up Sasquatch and threw him really far, then he honed in on him with his bionic eye". I was laughing so hard....tears were rolling down my face. It was like an hour of them taking turns throwing each other.
best show ever
