I think you people that are complaining didn't notice that this isn't played on a real piano, it's on a digital one.
Anyway, I have to say, this is one of Debussy's pieces that reminds me that, yes, he was a genius. Most often, his music just sounds like some high-end, turn-of-the-century Parisian salon music, well-done, but syrupy, but then there are others that are beyond time and space. This is one of the latter.
@MaestroTJS Exactly. By the way, kudos to the uploader @allarmunumralla for having the IMSLP score showed while the music was playing - helps us music students (working on our music degree) follow along when we're listening to this for homework or what not.
Beautiful harp-like runs at 2:27 and unreal atmosphere. For this player the crescendo, diminuendo and tenuto signs as 'indicators to phrasing' do not seem to mean anything.
This a beautiful study in the whole note scale. His use of this scales at the time was very avaunt guard. His compositions were more about mood and texture. He said, "I am more and more convinced that music is not, in essence, a thing which can be cast into a traditional and fixed for". Remember this was composed over a 100 years go. He influenced nearly all the music of that time. Stravinsky said, "I and the members of my generation owe most to Debussy". This was cutting edge.
i prefer it to be played with the pedal Bb sustained. it sounds so much cooler. although i suppose debussy intended it this way now that i see the sheet music. bravo on this. especially the middle pentatonic section.
Slightly mind-blowing

@beccamesser Yeah, I love videos with the scores in them too.
By the way, clever username. How many people get the joke? ;)

I think it's played without any feelings.

I think it is a bad interpretation. It has to be played with pedal.

Soulja Boy utilizes the whole tone scale way better than this douche bag

Soulja Boy does not even know what a whole tone is.
