He didn't. He manipulated his own voice to sound like jigsaw's. (The same way that John Kramer manipulated his own.) If you listen very carefully, you can hear that it doesn't sound exactly right. I was impressed that the sound people went into that much detail.

One reason I love this scene: you rarely see John loose his cool. But Hoffman both copied his work poorly and also spat all over John's philosophy. He kept it cool for a while, but this is the one scene where John gets mad.

Whenever someone calls the Saw Series "torture porn", I direct them to this scene. A 7+ minute scene in the middle of the series, in the middle of the freaking movie, that is not about "torture porn". It's all character development. And I love it.

What peeks my curiosity is the fact that the gun still had a bullet in the chamber. Now we all know that Jigsaw is against out right murder but would he have killed Hoffman if it came down to it? Id say that after seeing what he did to Cecil, I think that Jigsaw would have killed Hoffman if he had too.

@theaxylum im not a gun expert but judging by what i saw its a double barrel shotgun(?) and he only had one bullet in so the first shot was the empty barrel and the second shot would be ready to fire incase hoffman decided not to join.

A gun is the best contingency :D.

Were you paying attention? Jigsaw tells Hoffman "But Your not a true killer, thats your dillema. Meaning the dillema of Hoffman was not to kill and he broke the rules and basically threw Jigsaw's rule book out the window and let loose, Hoffman slowly became a monster
