Yup, all us VFX artists are irrelevant. All it takes is some A-list has-been actors and a bunch of HP workstations to make a movie. FUHP! Plus, your computer are crashy pieces of sh&@!!!
Next time I expect several racks of renderfarm machines traipsing down the red carpet. You'd need an army of girls to push it, but hey - that's showbusiness for you! :)
This video is going to be even more hilarious years down the line when this looks as slow as a C64 does today. They could've celebrated the video FX artists that use the devices, but we praise the tools not the creators?
@DarkArtist then the creative department for HP are idiots. Aside from the fake crowd cheering, why not bring in the actual CG artists and give them a chance to speak on how the machine worked for them? As opposed to some actresses giving phoned in lines. Calling the computer the "scene creator" is ludicrous and a slap in the face to the artists who used the computer to really make the movie what it is.
Maybe the dedicated team of talented CG artists who actually are responsible for creating every pixel of that movie should be walking the red carpet instead? Great workstation but it's a big paperweight without an artist.
@samuelconlogue I think you're taking this too seriously. It's just a harmless publicity stunt. The creative team were probably the ones who came up with it.
Lets face it, Hollywood has been full of bullshit from day one.

What a disgraceful insult to everyone who worked on this film. I'll be that much less likely to buy HP anymore.

+1 for the cg artists. Would they all fit in that limo?
Hopefully though, they wouldn't have to pay as much as I'll bet HP did.
