@BrooklynNYC777 its totaly different than max, u can write a example of what u are asking to be specific, alias is realy a great tool and buddy its not for multimedia people believ me i ve tried it as my hobby but eventualy i had to quit learning it coz i couldnt do a career in that, reason being was my arts background however pros told me that this was a designing tool rather than an engineering surface modeling tool, but i hav left it,and yeah snapping is totally diff story over here!
@bharatkumargupta i found out the hard way what you wrote in this comment... i had to abandon learning alias for the moment... but i will get back into it when doing models for inventor.
@BrooklynNYC777 inventor and alias does go hand in hand, thats what i said,i just said its "not for me" coz i m no product designer, get it?then good luck!
@BrooklynNYC777 alias uses align tools to align tangents basically, bec it works on curves n surfaces, and point snapping alignments,to be specific ih u have used maya before, its much similar to maya nurbs, but has lot of great tools and much more capable nurbs tool set,u can watch videos on "align and align 2008 tool",curve snapping, point snap and etc,its not unusal at all, they way we strive for accuracies in max are easily accomplished in alias, seriously its wonders i love this soft!
@bharatkumargupta thanks for the explanation after busting my brain and realizing that alias snapping is nothing like max.........i found that alias snapping is far superior to max snapping
@BrooklynNYC777 i can tell u this as a modelling tool this software is a genius, and max stands no where to its accurate tool sets, its realy easy to use if u go by book from chapter 1- z,and u can model anything like car, rims, interiors etc with much much ease as u wud do in max,max is so hard, bec u had to deal with polygons n edges n hope that all work when result is turbosmoothed, its realy a guess work there ,but u dont waste time playing n experiment with alias, instead its jus out of the box
@bharatkumargupta yeah that turbo mesh smooth can be a pain in the assss but i use mesh smooth to get amazing forms due to the way you can manipulate it and extract amazing geometry from it. i think alias needs some abstract form making ability.......... abstract parametric form generation for dynamic fractal sculpting. like what paracloud and parametric array plugins for max can do.
Great tutorial, but the sound was barely there. I could hear the occasional mouse-click and bits and pieces of a voice ... any chance you can re-upload this with better sound? I'd love to hear the explanation as you're going. Thanks again.
coming from 3d studio max how do i snap two object together using snap ? alias snapping is very unusual it seems.
