  • if only kids would REALLY still sit in their rooms and color. not use their ipads, phones (if crazy parents give them one at 7 o_o), or using the computer.

  • This commercial would've ran from 1965 to 1976. 1976 was the year the crayon wrapper design changed to the "Type 7" design (known best as "Modern Serpentine; Thin Crayola Name") which lasted to 1987.

What we see on the crayon wrappers here is the "Type 6" design known as "Modern Serpentine; Inc.; Color Above) used from 1955 to 1976.

  • what kind of a commercial is that

  • If life were to be black & white, you'd see someone in the Arts & Crafts aisle of Wal-Mart and see a kid staring at a 96 pack of Crayola Crayons and say:"Look,Mom!A whole box of grey!"

  • I remember having this in second grade.

  • Artsy. :P

  • ppsshh i would like to acctuly see what the colors were! :P

  • err.. b&w is not the best format for advertising colourful crayons

  • I know how could you tell the colors? Youd have to goto a store to tell. lol. I still color with Crayola as of this day

  • That's just what I was going to say

"Wow mom! A whole box of gray!!"

  • you no in 40 years people are going to look at are commecials and see what they had

  • You can go to the crayola factory and watch them make them. The gift shop has authentic "old" boxes with original colors.

It's a great place to go...no matter how old you are.

  • Wait, did Crayola merge with Sprint?

  • No, at least I hope not.

  • Can't you just smell those crayons? I loved the big pack.

  • Hehe. Last week I asked my mom for the 64 pack with the built-in sharpener. But now I want the 150 pack...sometimes it's amusing to just stand there looking at them...

  • NOT FAIR >:( kids today have the crappy 24 pack... nothing else! while the kids from 60's get a 64 PACK and a built in sharpener!!! crayola now hates kids ;(

  • thats not true. go to any store with a school supply section. they still sell the exact same thing, although with a few color changes.

  • i know!

i got a new box last week and i saw that people were saying that they dont make em anymore and i was like, "omg! then how'd i get a new box!"

  • I remember when these things came out (64 crayons) - oh how I envied any kid that had them. I usually had the 16 or 24 crayon box. I got lucky once and got a 48 crayon box for Christmas one year, WOW! I thought I had it made. Those were the days, eh?

  • 64 crayons and built-in sharpener... (drools)
